I worked at IKEA for 5yrs. Specifically cashlanes and logistics. This video brought back all the trauma 😅😅

If there is something you wonder about anything Swedish, just ask and I and my fellow Swedes will answer all the questions.🤗 The lit up stars, we hang un the Windows at christmas. The straw animal with red bands, is a christmas goat and goes back generations. They where handmade back in the good ol' days 😉

@@thewadsquad Fellow Swede here. The Xmas goat is first coming from our days believing in the old gods, Thor had a carriage that was pulled by goats. And during our winter holidays at that time, it wasn't Santa Claus who came with presents, it was the xmas goat. And when Christianity came to Sweden, it forced out our old traditions and the goat got replaced with Santa Claus and it became a tradition to slaughter a goat during xmas. But the Goat lives on!

In Europe the paper cones are usually filled with candy. When I lived in a remote villiage over there we had the candy lady come every week. Everything was in cones. We also had a weekly bread lady, flower lady and tool man. Lol ❤🤗

The “whatever the heck that is” is a goat. And a fun fact: Ikea here in Iceland puts up this MASSIVE HUGE straw goat in front of the store before Christmas. And every year someone sets fire to it. Last year they had a security guard AND surveillance cameras guarding it and it was the first time (I think) it didn’t burn! But Ikea in Iceland has a sense of humour and this year they actually put this tiny versions of the goat next to the matches in the store. So you can just burn your own tiny straw goat! 😂 Oh and by the way - everytime it got ruined, Ikea put up a new one.

In Norway we always put up the paper star lights i our windows for advent :) We call them advent stars :) And the red bird on the china is a male bullfinch, not a cardinal. The female is more greyish pink on the breast

Oh my! That reindeer ornament is adorable!

It is a straw goat, that brings you good luck through the brand new year. They originally were smaller and placed on the Christmas Tree. It is like the small marzipan pig that holds a coin in it’s mouth to bring you good fortune in the new year. That also is placed on the tree. German tradition.

The lake house is definitely big enough for multiple Christmas trees. I small tree in the kitchen area with wisks would be amazing!!!

I feel your pain mama!!! My 5 year old daughter always tries to wake up at 4:30am! I had to buy a special clock on Amazon that has a sun and a moon on it and when she is allowed to get out of her room the sun goes on! It has definitely helped!

The closest IKEA to me is two hours away and through Chicago, so I really appreciate this Christmas tour! Some of this stuff is available online at ikeausa. Things seem expensive for IKEA.
