If churches are exempt from paying taxes, then they should refrain from preaching on politics. I read something written in another comment section that I liked, “two people you should never trust. A preacher who tells you how to vote, and a politician who tells you how to pray.”

I don't see anywhere in the video where anyone was advocating for the government to establish a religion. The Christians' views seemed to be that they want people to vote according to their biblical beliefs. It also depends how you define religion. Someone could argue that a law against polygamy or slavery or child labor or human sacrifice is against their religion. At some point, the government must decide what is illegal regardless of any religious view. How the government decides this could be considered a religion too.

Many pentecostals are oneness (God, Jesus, and holy spirit are manifestations of one God, just like the burning bush isn't the 4th person in the trinity). While other denominations believe God and Jesus are two separate beings (unitarian--father and son or adopted son). No one should be accusing another of not being a member of a group. In the past, there were even denominations that said Jesus was the true God and Jehovah was the devil in sheep's clothing (which they cite the deaths committed by God vs the deaths committed by the devil in the bible-spoiler: God got a much much much higher death count).

I’m saying this as an atheist. They’re talking about church and state and its separation but they don’t even understand the history behind it. The separation of church and state was distinctly in reaction to the situation in Europe which was governments being dominated by a church body i.e. the Catholic Church or the church of England. So specifically that there was a governing church organization that controlled and dictated the movement of government. In America church is not the same meaning as it was back then now church is very decentralized you have many many many different kinds of small organize churches and may be because they dominate a large number of the population bacon holds way over a group of people are on the local government sector but there is not a single church that is even big enough to dictate the movement of the federal government. Or governments cross state borders. The way they’re talking about the separation as if somehow people need to drop their philosophies at the voting floor but that’s impossible people will always have their philosophies dictate their decisions and that you just can’t do that. term scientist basically has authority

What I hear in this Report is that Religion is Personal. In Government there is no room for Personal Belief’s and that is why they should never be mixed. In fact we should remove in God we Trust as it was added in the 1956 not 1787.

If you open government up to religion, then it has to be open to all religions. Do you want police who are Christians and then attack people for not being Christian? Or Detroit has a huge Muslim population. What if they create a police force that enforces Sharia laws? Jefferson, who was not a christian (almost all of the founding fathers believed in a god but not Jesus), got it right that the two should be separated. You are free to believe what you want, but you can't make the government to enforce those beliefs on others. This rule has worked well for 200 years.

@@rabbit251 Government is open to all religions. If Christians vote their conscious, that's fine. If they proselytize, that's fine. If their representatives do the will of their Christian constituents, within the confines of the constitution, then all is well and that's democracy at work.

@Neil Deep Organizations that were created explicitly to mock or criticize other religions and admit to not believing in any concept of divinity should not be allowed to operate under the guise of religion for legal purposes.
