I think in additional to your starter pack, I would add having Godly community or resources E.g. youtubers, bloggers or podcasts for example would help you grow in your relationship with God

Yes KZread sermons and worship songs are everything!!! Along with everything else she said. I'm also very blessed to be at a church that has alot of classes groups etc for everyone and that's been extremely helpful in building my community ❤️🙏

It's so good to be able to look back at old prayers and see how faithful God is. I love that sticky note idea to track previous prayers

Study bibles are amazing! Also if anyone wants context for whatever book of the Bible they are reading the KZread channel “bible project” is so helpful. They also do studies on different Hebrew and Greek words and their illustrations are beautiful 💕. Side note: i admire your boldness and obedience in shifting your content to more faith based topics. 👏🏽

I try not to comment on your videos too much because I know your channel is for the ladies... but I have to say this video is so SPOT-ON in so many way !! I love how you talk about the difference between religion and relationship. Isn't it a whole different ballgame when you KNOW Jesus and talk with him and hang out with him and be with him 24/7. It's more than just a Sunday check the box and go home and pray before you go to bed. It's a moment by moment awareness of his presence !! And then I also love the prayer Journal. Mine changed my life a few years ago. I put check marks next to the things that have come through and so I can flip back and look at all the check marks where Jesus has answered prayer. Just like you say, it's an amazing part of the Christian Life. Then thirdly I also write and underline and highlight in my Bible and thank you for the highlighter link. I need to order some more.. mine are worn out dried up LOL. May also please make one more comment if I you don't mind. I often hear in Christian circles about the "power of Prayer." When I feel compelled I always correct them, (in my opinion,) and say no no, the power is not in my prayer, the power is IN JESUS. I can pray until I'm blue in the face and nothing might happen. I have to also understand Holy Ghost timing. I could pray for 3 weeks about something and nothing happens. There is zero power in my prayer. The power is in Jesus Christ. And we have to understand "Holy Ghost timing." We have to trust that God will do things in HIS timing because many different prayers have other people involved and the Lord is working on them as well and the timing may be different for them or the situation or whatever. I trust that God will answer in HIS timing. If I don't understand Holy Ghost timing I could become disappointed, disillusioned, and could have misunderstanding of the ways of God. Sorry for the long message, but this was a really outstanding video and wanted to let you and others know how outstanding your points were. I will definitely pass it on to my female Christian friends. Hopefully they also subscribe. You are spot-on I love it. Thank you for allowing me to comment.

Prayer journaling has developed my relationship with God and has allowed me to hear God's voice clearer. I definitely need highlighters that don't bleed through the paper.

A dictionary/concordance! I love looking up definitions of words while I’m studying. It helps me to better understand what the writer was saying.

A good worship playlist is the cherry on top :)

This is so good, and definitely matches my own personal list! One thing I would add is: "A solid KZread subscriber list of individual men and women or ministries" because when I came back to Christ, what truly helped to mold me and guide me in that time was men, women and solid ministries of God on KZread. I would not be at the place of growth that I am now had I not relied on this resource. Glory to God!

My starter pack would be: A Bible or The Bible app A journal (paper or document on your laptop) Colour e.g. pens or highlighters (makes the whole process of discovering God more fun) Bible Plans (A great way to discover who God is through various topics). Prayer (Talking to God and asking Him to show you the way to go, what book in The Bible, Verse or Chapter you should read etc.)

So glad I found your channel! My goal every year is to grow closer to God 💛

Hello, for anyone who can't find an adequate highlighter for the thin pages, you can also use colored pencil to highlight on your Bible, I do this and it's a great alternative ! (excuse my bad english ) Great video, thanks for the advices !

I just wanted to say I always enjoy watching your videos! Jesus shines through you and in times like today we need all the godly advice, wisdom, and FACES around us that we can to encourage us and teach us on this journey. Hiiii I feel you! I’m 14 and I got Saved last summer, you really just need to cut off most social media and find some good gospel songs, it’ll be so much better if you just give your whole life to God! It may seem like a lot at first but if you Pray and really seek Him you’ll be just fine, I know it can be a lot and it takes time but you’ll get there God Willing. Blessings to you sister💓

These are great tips thank you!! Along with a prayer journal, it’s helpful to have a notebook specifically for sermons notes.

That's good to study the word and to have time with him and as you study you pray. That is the best relationship one could ever ask for. I love what you are doing., keep it up. God is awesome.

I’ve been writing out some of my prayers for a while now and it’s been one of the most faith strengthening and rewarding things I’ve done! I would definitely say that having all of the things you listed will be so beneficial to those looking to build and grow in a relationship with God, because they really cement what‘s being learned and provide a way to look back on how God has answered prayer, which is such a beautiful thing. One thing I would add is a good solid source for prayer, especially for those who find it difficult or they don’t know where to start. The Your Daily Prayer podcast is a really great source for that and has helped me when I’ve gotten into a “prayer rut” and didn’t know how to begin praying for certain things.

I’m working through #5 right now - mindset shift - I’m working on having a relationship with God. I think I have this limited idea of him that keeps me away, but I know I don’t want it to be that way. I want to be closer to Him and have a strong solid relationship. I really struggle with prayer, sometimes I don’t feel worthy and sometimes I don’t feel heard or that my prayers matter. I feel ungrateful when I pray. God has blessed me, who am I to “complain” or ask for more. Working on it everyday.

Love Love Love this and all your content. I feel like I’m in a place of resetting and reshaping my relationship with God and unlearning and reprogramming and just building, and this is helpful.

My first bible is a precious moment NKJ I got it when I was 17 but my 2nd bible is NLT! And i love it. . I have a journal but I never had a prayer journal or write down my prayer I dunno, I like talking to Him directly but i like to start writing down my prayer request and look back on it.

@ nokoye2009 All you should do is journal your prayers straight from the heart. It helps to picture the Lord as that friend you want to learn about as well as being vulnerable for Him to learn of you just as you do in building new friendships (although He knows us). Approach Him using as you are. You can turn your very comment into a prayer: Lord, I desire to build my relationship with you by taking steps to keep a prayer journal. I need Your help and guidance because I never know what to write or how to convey to You what's on my heart. Please quiet my mind as I come before you or something along those lines. Just start writing and it will become easier and it will reflect who you are. You'll get there.

My small group leader is letting me use her Evidence study Bible for a about a month then I need to give it back to her. Yes, I do have a Bible I have 3 one of them is my mom's study Bible it's the MacArthur study Bible, my small group leader gave it to me because she knows that I have a deep passion to evangelize also I'm only 13 yrs. old.

I love that you talked about the need for a mindset shift so that we can develop in our relationship with God. Absolutely need to be able to let go of old ways of thinking. And yes, prayer is such a powerful and important part of the relationship! 🙌

I’m a bit learned on the Bible, I’ve read and understood a good 60% of it it but most of my study has been on eschatology but the problem I have most is in prayer and relationship building with the lord. Actually it’s my deficit, I happen to come from a family that did not give me the tools to further and strengthen a relationship, I love the lord so much and I long to talk with him but it’s so hard for me to talk and pray to him, do you or anyone else in the comments have a suggestion how I can just feel comfortable telling the lord how much I need him or care for him or maybe how to ask him for guidance and strength? My head always tells me “hes really busy, don’t bother him” or I just don’t ask at all because I feel like I’m asking or telling him petty things, idk it’s so hard to ask for help for fear of sounding pitiful lol, any suggestions are greatly appreciated ❤

i believe i commented this on another of your videos, but since this one was recently posted, im gonna comment again because i need prayers prayers and more prayers.. i had committed myself to stop having sex before marriage over a year and a half ago, and then recently fell into sexual sin with my son's dad. it's really hard for me to walk away... not just from the sexual part, but emotionally as well. i really dont want to live this way, but im struggling so prayers would be soo helpful

Harleigh - when we have sex with someone, we don’t just become one flesh but we join in covenant with them since sex was meant to be a marital union with one another and the act strengthens the union and is not to be ignored in marriage. So when we have sex outside of marriage, we’re bypassing the formal legal agreement but the spiritual oneness still takes place and we are, in effect, joining in with the soul - the mind, the will and emotions - of that other person. When we repent of that and want to turn away from it, we verbally renounce all ties, covenants and agreements we’ve entered into sexually. You call out names one by one and even if there are names people cannot remember or never knew, you speak to that event that took place and you declare you have no more alignment with that soul. It’s difficult when you have a child with the man and I assume you have interaction of some sort and you also see him in your son but you’re speaking in the spiritual realm and that’s more powerful than the physical. You must stay strong not to be tempted by the man because he probably assumes since you two have had this type of relationship that he can continue having it. You don’t need to tell him you’ve severed soul ties with him. You just speak to the spirit realm and command them from you regarding him and each time you talk to him or see him, pray to yourself in his presence and declare the soul tie is broken. It’s a legal covenant and once you’ve broken it, stand in faith that it’s broken. The enemy will continue to tempt you to renter into sin and agreement with this man but be shrewd and know you do not want that; you want the blessing. Sexual sin is different than all other sins and you are very wise to run fast from it like Joseph. There are all kinds of videos on here on “how to break soul ties” and look for any that are scripturally sound that speak the Name Jesus.... not new age. I hope that helped. Blessings
