My husband Matt died May 6 2019... I can't drink because I can't handle it.. I stayed high on heroin the whole year after he died and I didn't deal with losing him. Had to lose him all over again when I got off the dope... Drinking starts out fun and then I hit that certain point and he does over and over.. anyways I always have to mention him.. I need people to know he existed.. I hope you are healing from what ever hurt you 💜

Whew! Chris Young, my man... my main man! ♥ He's my famous artist husband, he just doesn't quite know it..😬 Any who...I take this song way deeper as I feel Chris might. Majority of his songs are pretty deep. The obvious being done ppl think he's still drinking and when he does his memory is flooded of the day she left. Well, my interpretation of it since in the song he states there's party downtown that's waiting on him( but he ain't going), barstool w his name on it( where he WOULD have his drinks), where one leads to two and two leads to four (BUT B4 I DO) he's standing at the end of the drive, her taillights fading into the night, so I don't go out on the town, all the whisky I had I poured out, screaming you're name in the pouring down rain, watching you leave us behind(him and the whisky) and that's where I go when I drink. ( meaning everytime he craves it or thinks ab taking a drink, he thinks ab where drinking got him and what he lost bc of it, so then he's flooded w the memories of the night she left) I know... way way deep.. that's just how I interpret the song. Chris is talented and very intelligent. His songs are always deep and have an underlined meaning to them, you just have to put yourself there. Having an alcoholic husband.. it's easy for me.

OK, its not because Chris Young is my "boyfriend." Its not because I actually was fortunate enough to see him be inducted into the Opry. Its only because this song is so damn good. The first time I heard it...I played it repeatedly for nearly two hours while driving home from Cedar Grove TN to Murray KY. By the time I pulled in the drive I had it memorized. This is an instant classic. I can't say enough about the song or the voice that brings the words to life.

It seems like the smallest things are always the biggest memories. It’s been almost 2 years for me, but mine was an abusive relationship. And I still miss her. It just feels like all of my lucky stars that I was counting when I was with her have fallen. and my night sky is just darkness. This song makes me think of my daughter so much. I was robbed of fatherhood by the system so many young men refused fatherhood but still have to pay for it, thats a heavy burden to bear all that helps is alcoholism and the will to reach Valhalla 😣

This song hit home, my whole life I've watched my parents drink there life way, as a kid we always used to scream n cry to my parents to be there. And they were never there for my 27 years I've ben hereAnd I did want to pour my mom's whiskey so she wouldn't drink it. My dad drank so much too. So I relate alot to this song. Love ur music ur my favorite country singer love u soooooooo freaking much, my whole life i wanted my parents here but all they wanted more is drinking. They promised me they would be here for me but the one part of the song I can relate to take one drop u flow my mind like a river of goodbyes my parents ben nothing but goodbyes my whole life... thanks u for everything you do for ur fans.
