This is crazy: I haven't listened to Oceans Ate Alaska for about a month and just listened to Metamorph yesterday on a whim. To see the premier live today was a truly sublime experience!

Chris talked about this in his Instagram and his favorite part of the song being right around 0:45. He is kicking so hard it’s lifting him off his seat. He’s an absolute monster and so much fun to watch play

My dude was doing the CLASSIC drummer neck crane when your in-ear is loose, as evidenced by the tension adjustment at 1:53

If you watch closely most of his videos his bass drum lifts up every time he hits it, even when it's the left foot. Amazing!

Chris’ play-through videos have proved to me that he is up there on a level that needs to be respected and recognized on a wider scale! This guy’s top notch and I love how intense he is when he plays. Love it!!!

I saw these guys back in 2016 at Chelsea Grin’s Desolation of Eden tour show. I had never heard of them, but their performance blew me away. Chris was the best drummer that night BY FAR. After the show I got to meet up with him and we talked for a few minutes. He was very polite and humble.

Been a huge fan of OAA and Chris for a long time. Met him after a show also when he came to my hometown. Such a nice guy and absolute terminator on the drums. ✌️

I seriously don’t know of any drummer who is better. Never stop tearing it up Chris.

Chris definitely just became my favorite drummer with the Currents merch rep!!! Gosh, could you imagine an OAA // Currents Co-headliner!?

i have no words, completely blown away.

I love those ghost notes on the snare. They seem to give it so much more flavor.

The comments about triggers and programming I do find amusing. Here, you obviously have a superb drummer who has put in the hours of his craft with clear sight of how hard and how soft he hits to accent certain notes. Not only is this displayed on the top half of the kit, but clearly the bass drum is taking a pounding with how hard Chris is pushing through his legs to get a clear recording and to be so clear whilst doing that, this is what separates him from a lot of drummers. What an amazing musician.

Chris is a monster. One Of the best metal drummers around with a unique sound. He definitely deserves more exposure.

Late to the party here, but I have to say Chris is without a doubt at minimum in the top 5 best drummers alive now and maybe of all time. I’ve been listening to metal for 20+ years and have favorites like Shannon Lucas, Tim Yeung, Matt Halpern, Jon Rice, and Gene Hoglan but Chris is a unbelievably unique and creative drummer, he sounds like no one in my opinion. Amazing and mind blowing stuff from him. I’m sure with time, he will only get better.

This band was my first metalcore band that i listening for the first time :)
