I agree with you that he sings well and makes most songs better, but not in this case. I like Willy's version better and this makes me miss Trigger also. Willy's guitar sings a duet with him.

Willie is probably my all time favorite country artist. His version of this was and is remedy. I never thought anyone could do it better, then I heard this. In the last 24 hours I've probably played this about 500 times, maybe more, maybe less. I don't even know. I've just been lost in it, writing some poetry that makes me feel dead and alive all at the same damn time. Chris is a legend in the making. When God created this man the first mission he gave him was to sing people back into healing.

There is not a song that Chris sings that I do not like. but I LOVE this song as well as his "Fool Me Again" Man can Chris sing and some of his instrumentation now is from Willie Nelson's group and sounds wonderful as it does with Willie. . I am praying that we are all Raptured . Can you imagine eternity listening to Willie and Chris and Johnny and Kris and the other Outlaws. God loves them and so do I!

Some damn good music, I wasn't raised around music like this, so i had to learn to venture out to other genres of music from friends I meet and wow. I always said I was open to all kinds of music and this guy for sure has another fan. I love the way you can feel and hear the pain in this song, when he's singing, and especially when it's just the guitar. Sweet perfection.

I got see him in March when he played in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I've been going to concerts for 40 years and his was the best I have ever been lucky enough to attend. But I also have to give a huge shout out to his sound crew - they did an amazing job and the sound was perfect :)

THIS MAN NEVER CEASE TO AMAZE ME ! HIS WIFE ALSO . Wow just Wow. I know this song was song by Willie but damn Chris sounds good ! I wish he had of came out back in the day when Country Music was Country music. With the old ones. God I love this mans voice and his wife can sing too.. She always sings "you are my sunshine" it's beautiful .

Pretty much anything this man sings is an instant classic. If you didn't already know, and want to hear more Chris Stapleton that the mainstream doesn't play, just look on youtube for The Steeldrivers (Bluegrass) and The Jompson Brothers (Rock). Good stuff.

Favorite country artist in the game right now. Legend in the making folks

OJ Mayo Light this may be the best country voice of all time when its said and done. I am a huge country fan. Seen this guy live and ive been to concerts my whole life and listened to dads country, this voice is special

I knew this guy was going to be great. Bought his CD before he was "known". I suggested we go see him, but we missed that opportunity. He's amazing!!

I listen to this over & over again. To me, this is the perfect country & western song. It takes me back to my first (ex) husband, the man of my dreams that killed himself & now, my current husband when we fall out of sync & I get that itch to leave...today, I must've played it 20 times while he was gone & now that he's in bed, I'm playing it again....

Yep, A legend in the making. Chris Stapleton is simply fabulous.

I know this isnt Chris's song but he does it well. I can even hear some Willie behind his voice even though its not Willie's either. A great song and great rendition. Good job Chris.😊

I was playing this song today and came here to hear Willie, then I stumbled upon and listened to Chris Stapleton do massive justice to this song...safe to say I'm a fan of this man now. Damn!

Just found out about this album today. So far this song is amazing . . . fuckin LOVE that harmonica. This is REAL country, not the pretty boy pop garbage on the charts. Certainly going to buy this one! Had no idea it was a Willie cover.

Willie Nelson brought me here. And I wasn't even high.

I had the pleasure of seeing him in concert last Saturday, He is amazing!

The last thing I needed. The first thing this morning.... Chris's words resonate deep and ring true in whatever he is singing or writing. Thanks man for doing it right.

Convinced he met the devil at the crossroads and sold his soul for this magnificent ability to play and sing cause it's just so very captivating and soul nurturing

Don't get me wrong I love Willie Nelson and his version of it. But something about this version just suits my tastes better. I don't know if it's just the way it was mixed or just Stapleton's voice but I have to go with this just slightly above Nelson's

Justin Ross This song was written by Gary P Nunn. This song was on an album I listened to when I was a kid. Gary's band at the time was "The Lost Gonzo Band". It was on their 1976 album Thrills.

I am so blessed to be allowed to hear more C.S. music. He is one of the few to still carry the old spirit. He is young enough to have enough influence over a long period. I am hoping anyway.

Got to see Chris in concert with my oldest daughter, played for almost 3 hours. Every song was sang with so much soul and perfectly done. Thank you Chris for a wonderful night full of precious memories

Does he live the outlaw lifestyle or just play the music? Really think about that too. They were all REAL outlaws, by definition and everything. I respect Chris a lot and love his music but I wouldn't consider him an outlaw.

That voice.... nothing better....can't stop listening to this mans music..This new album is wonderful and I have listen to it 4 times today and now listening to it again before bed..Volume 2 will be just as good I am betting.. can't wait ..

The Savage has it right!! This stopped me drop dead mid set ab workout!! Just as The Beatles performance 22/08/64 made history in Vancouver, B.C., so did Chris's performance at the Rogers Arena 27/03/17. His magnetic personality enhanced by that sultry growl and wicked guitar was mesmerizingly brilliant and fiercely riveting as the smooth sounds of his voice and music was so crystal clear it was if we sitting in our homes listening to a CD (albeit a thousand times amplified). Oh what a ride, what a night. It was a thrill that's indelibly tucked away in my memory maker moment cerebral chamber forever!!

You have written songs for so many others, it is wonderful to hear you sing your own songs. A bluesy country sound. Thank you for sharing!

Gary P. and Donna Sioux Farr wrote it, Wille made it a hit. Donna Farr has a daughter that also covered it really really good, Amanda Grace She has a channel here on U Tube.

It is true he brings back a sound from times gone by but with his twist giving it that new feel. Willie, Kenny, whoever you want to hear in it, he allows you to relax and be comforted by the genuineness of his tone and song.

That isn't Country Ya'll, that is Soul, and Blues together. I love your music Chris! I just wrote a beautiful love song, I wish you could sing it for me...so the one I love could hear it as beautifully as I meant it to be!
