I can relate to the movie Divorce in the Black...after being in a marriage to a physically, emotionally, psychologically abusive ex husband for 5 1/2 years... I thank God for getting me out of that messy misery and I am thankful and grateful that God blessed me with a REAL MAN who loves me unconditionally and 1st and foremost LOVES God and our family. Thanks Tyler Perry, Meagan and ALL of the wonderful actors in this AMAZING movie. I have watched it 2 times so far, and cried both times... Peace and Blessings everyone in Jesus Christ name 🙏🏽❤😊

No marriage is perfect, it takes work any successful marriage takes work if you're not willing to put in the work it won't survive "Why take the vow if you're just going to bow?" .... Wow I just came up with that maybe I'll hear it in a Chris Stapleton song in a couple of months... The grass always looks greener on the other side. However, when you get over to the other side you look back and notice that the reason it look greener is because you were blocking the sun on your own patch of grass. ~R.J.M.

If you think about music that gets played on the radio, I understand it brings in the money and it pleases the masses... But take a few minutes out of your day to listen to Chris Stapleton. THIS is what it's all about. It's stripped down, it's raw, there's no sound effects, no extra added sugar coated bullshit, this in my mind sounds like real music, and not just the sound, but the lyrical meaning is unbelievably good story telling, just him and his guitar, that's it. That's music to me

There's a ton of good music produced every year in all genres. But most of the good music never gets radio airplay, because the music industry is geared towards pop-ular music with the main target group being teenagers who get sucked into fads. And teens still have a rock n roll mentality, except today it's more of a hip hop mentality. Where your peers might give you shit if you listen to music that actually has a melody and evokes emotions other than rage, hate, greed or machismo.

See even when you feel this way.'.. I mean for even if for good reason to leave. You need to leave the relationship first before you move on. To plan a life or crave another life outside of the one you have is not living in present...Being envious of a life you think you don't have by looking at everyone else's house car money or status. You miss all the beautiful little moments like a smile from your kids or a wink from your husband or from the ones that love you. While your to mad to notice about what you don't have and when dreaming about that other person you want to be or be with Well that other person was dreaming how to make you happy. and you missed it all. This song put me on the ground, I felt like if I took a harder breath my ribs would crack into pieces. After 20 years of marriage, I just couldn’t do it anymore. The lyrics perfectly explained the broken heart that I’d had for years but didn’t know how to verbalize it. I couldn’t do it anymore. I mourned the loss of what I’d spent my whole life building. He couldn’t break my heart anymore. I couldn’t cry for him. My heartbreak was because I realized I’d lost the future I thought my life would look like. Growing old together. Watching our children hit each milestone together… it was all gone because I couldn’t stay a relationship with a man who made me believe I was so small, so worthless, any longer. I finally died inside. Didn’t want to but eventually I realized I’d spent more than half of my life fighting for a connection - even just a friendship he never wanted. I was just a box that had been checked off on his list that made him think he looked like he had it all. These words, said absolutely perfectly, were my truth for many years.

I'm going through this right now. I'm have been staying in a broken relationship over 15 years because I love my children so much to leave. I would rather carry the pain, then to allow them to feel hurt and wonder where their father is. For those who ever doubt how much a father love their children need to know my loneliness and pain is worth my sacrifice for their wellbeing. My sacrifice is nearly complete. I cry every time I hear this song.

I'm so glad this voice ,, this Man FOUND US. I feel everything as soon as his fingers strum across the strings ,, then BOOM the lyrics come out with that sexy low start that builds and builds till the chorus and they HIT YOU IN EVERY FEEL OF YOUR BODY. !!!! Chris Stapleton can bring it. Thank GOD he brought it to us. We are THE BLESSED ONES. To have someone move me like his music does is a fantastic feeling. Thank you CHRIS. !!!

It's funny...every time I listen to this song after I get in a fight with my wife, all it makes me do is realize how much I love and need her. Chris's music is some of the most powerful I've ever heard, even when it's just him and a guitar.

Married 33 years, and this song gets me where I live. The things I hurt over I check myself to see if I am considerate of his needs, wants, desires, etc. It does take , to make a marriage work communicating is key, but it only ends with hurtful words said in anger, not meaning a lot of it. I'm scared we are past the point of no return and can't imagine starting over with someone new. I can't even cry anymore. I've cried myself out. My husband is one of the best men I've ever meant. I miss him terribly, but the feeling is not reciprocated. Life isn't exciting anymore. I look forward to nothing. Maybe that's a bit of depression and/or despair coming through. Anyways, I love the song and sing it alone in my car at the top of my lungs. Alone being the key word.

Thank God for you, your songs put words to the pain a lot of people are feeling who cannot speak their own truth or are to afraid to say them. The people around them just do not sometimes understand how crippling pain and depression can be. Please keep writing and giving us your strength you and Morgane are definitely a gift each other and to us the listening public.

One of his most, if not THE most heart-wrenching songs that Chris Stapleton has ever written, and that's saying something. Every time that I listen to it it brings up an emotion, chills etc.. Well done Mr. Stapleton, you're an American Treasure in my book. God bless you and your household!!
