This man has many God given talents, song writing, guitar skills, but undoubtedly his vocal skills are unmatched. Doesn't matter what he sings , he owns it, and once he has sung it, no other version measures up. Have seen him twice in concert, hope to do so this summer as well. So glad I discovered his music in 2017. Nothing's been the same in my music world since

This version kicks ass, don't misunderstand me, BUT, one of the hidden reasons why Waylon's version is so good is that kick drum on the off beat. You gotta listen for it, but its what makes Hoss' version unique. Go listen for it. Nobody else's version has that same kick drum pattern. This kicks ass though.

Oh my gosh...best vocal ...instramental EVER. Those musicians were having the time of their life, amazing to watch amazing to listen too. Perfection. Last time I watched anything like this was when Prince was on stage. Although I like the joy and admiration in these folks, it was a party of pure country music going on.

"I Ain't Living Long Like This" is a song written by Rodney Crowell for his 1978 album Ain't Living Long Like This. "I Ain't Living Long Like This" was first recorded in 1978 by Emmylou Harris as a track for her album, Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town. - I wondered because I had that song by EmmyLou back in the 70's.

Gary Stewart first recorded it for his "Your Place Or Mine" album, released in 1977. Rodney Crowell and Emmylou Harris recorded it for their albums in 1978. Waylon Jennings' cover version is the only one released as a single, and it went to number 1 early in 1980. IMHO all the versions are good. It's a shame, though, that so many people know it only as a Waylon song, when he was, in fact, the fourth to record it, not the first.

The new Johnny Cash And June Carter Cash of country. A true country icon idol and legend is born people. On a live rise to the top. This is country. This is feeling.... This is music. I have been waiting for this so long to get this feeling back. That good country music in memory of the great Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, George Strait... And many others.

Obviously he won't be Johnny Cash--but Chris Stapleton SITS in the same circle as Waylon, Johnny, Willie, Hank, and Merle--undoubtedly. He is as good as they were and are.

Waylon is the best there is. Undoubtedly. But there's no denying Chris Stapleton has that honesty and down-to-earth quality about him that, coupled with an immediately recognizable and incredible voice, brings an ethos to country music that puts him squarely with the older Greats of Country. There's no way you can place him in the same category as "musicians" such as Garth Brooks, Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett, etc...

Buddy Miller did the first lead guitar solo. Hes a native of Fairborn Ohio. A lot of my kin from Kentucky, West Virginia and Tennessee moved their years ago for work opportunities. It was part of the Appalachian mass migration to midwestern rust belt towns known as the hillbilly highway
