This just makes the situation all the more sad & disappointing. Chris wasn’t even aware he should have been on guard or defending himself as Will was approaching him. 😢 I hope the media replays this and the other videos that Chris has opened up to the entire world discussing his diagnosis of NVLD. This is the straw that broke the camels back for me. 😢💜

Thank you thank you so much for being open and candid Chris Rock because my son has this. We never knew it was called NVLD. We were always told it was ADHD and I knew it wasn't. He's 27 now and he watched the interview and called me so excited and said "mom, mom that's exactly what I have". He sent me a KZread video about NVLD that explained it even deeper and it was my son to a tee. My son has a BA in Journalism and a minor in Political Science but now he feels like he can seek the help he needs to better understand himself and help him with dealing with society.

That’s what’s so beautiful about Chris Rock talking about it: so people with NVLD - especially kids - can understand it, get help, and not be embarrassed about it. I got diagnosed late in life, also had an ADHD diagnosis but knew there was more to it. That was about two years before Chris Rock talked about it. He really helped me accept it. So glad your son was diagnosed early in life. Good for you that you took it seriously - many parents don’t. Struggling undiagnosed for a lifetime is no joke. I wish your family well.

Yet displayed incredible professionalism! This Oscar-triggering moment & aftermath could’ve all been avoided if the parties involved, incl the Academy & media, did their homework, respected each other’s disorders & changed course. Oh well, what a way for us all to learn the lesson. ✌🏽

I have the same disorder. I've had women literally tell me they wanted to smash and it went over my head. The only difference is that I'm extremely technically inclined and artistically inclined so I was actually diagnosed as having asperger syndrome. What helped me with music and technical skills is that I see sound as colors and music comes to me as mathematical equations(rhythms are fractions and chords and melodies are geometry and algebra)...which is really(to me) the same as anything involving some kind of technical skill. It took my wife to take our son to get tested (because he also has the same disorder) for me to get retested...then it was explained to me as nonverbal disorder. I've actually been off of medication for almost 7 years now but growing up it was VERY tough. The teasing was brutal. I was the music geek, math nerd who was trying to be white. Even today people are freaked out that I can play four instruments and can build a guitar amplifier or write a computer program just as well. Artists generally aren't technical and tech heads generally aren't artists but I do both equally well.

WE ALL HAVE GREATNESS, IN US! EVERYTHING GOD MADE WAS GOOD! GOD CREATED US WITH A PLAN AND PURPOSE IN MIND! GOD GAVE US ALL, THE CHOICE TO CHOOSE HIS PLAN OR SATAN’S! WHEN YOU DON’T CHOOSE THE CREATOR’S PLAN, YOU WILL DEFINITELY MALFUNCTION! HIS PLAN COMES WITH A MANUEL, IF YOU DON’T READ THE MANUEL, HOW CAN YOU FIND THE PURPOSE OF A THING? IF YOU DON’T KNOW THE PURPOSE OF A THING YOU WILL ABUSE IT! SO READ THE MANUEL, WHICH IS THE BIBLE, MY LOVELY PEOPLE!!! FIND OUT WHOM AND WHO’S YOU REALLY ARE!!! GOD LOVES YOU, AND I DO TOO✅❤️🤎🖤💜🧡💛💚💙💔💯‼️

Now that he speaks about his NVLD, I think about that viral clip of Chris talking to Kobe while he was clearly focused on the game. I thought Chris was trying to be funny talking to him but he probably wasn’t reading that Kobe was saying leave me tf alone lol

I didn't know there was a name for it because once people decide you are "different" they label us " CRAZY". When, in fact, we are just misunderstood.

@traffic lights His own words are all I needed to hear. It takes a lot to openly confess mental illness. Knowing the stigma attached and also knowing that people will make it into what they want it to be, I wish more black men would be as transparent as he is, instead of hiding and denying it.
