These prop bets on random 2 way players is just a scandal waiting to happen. I’d honestly be pretty shocked if Porter is the first player that’s attempted this. He’s just the first to get caught

Exactly. Its pretty clear that the wise thing to do is remove prop bets on individual players. There are plenty of things to bet on without them and they are uniquely structured to be corrupted.

Legal gambling is the main reason this got caught. This type of activity could have gone on much longet without detection if sports betting was still illegal. This is why we should legalize and regulate recreational drugs. When someone mixes fentynol in with other drugs, there should be consequences. Illegal drug manufacturers don't care.

The legal betting companies are saying this is how they are better for tracking this. But when it was illegal they maybe had over and under's on player's stats for superstars, not regular players and certainly not bench guys you never even heard of. They didn't have things live betting on Div 2 games or women's games. If someone was smart and didn't bet too much, I don't see how they could be stopped.

Athletes should not be allowed to bet on sports at all, if someone can't make the trade off of not gambling on sports to make millions of dollars, then they have a serious problem and should be banned from the league. They all have friends on other teams, in other sports, etc... There will be nothing but constant issues as long as they allow the players/staff to bet on sports.
