Thank you, Suzy. The Jerry West/Lakers rift was painful for fans, and because we cherish West more than whoever he had problems with, it was on them to make it right. Was he beyond admitting to whatever he may have contributed? I want the full story.

Suzy has too much class and style. The business has to be verbalized carefully. Of course some people who are rich(owners), entitled, narcissistic, arrogant who come into the world of sports think they know more than people who lived and breathed their sport and have shown success. Lakers have been my team for 50+ years and it broke my heart when the West/Laker relationship disintegrated. Jerry always wanted to impart a way that would make them a better person/player. God bless Jerry for all the people he positively influenced. Competitive, caring and hard working.💜💜💛💛

Thank you Jerry for the love you had for the game, I know if the Warriors never hire Mr. West the team/players/organization never would have been champions. The Impression and Impact of a man will be everlasting and loss as well will be felt as long as the game of basketball is played. Condolences to the West family , and Thank you Mr. West Rest In Paradise .

He was a Living Legend !! The kindest, gentlest, most sensitive man I ever met. But don't get it twisted, he was the most competitive person I've ever been around. The Lakers didn't do him right ...... TWICE !! RIP LOGO ..... I'M MISSING YOU ALREADY !!

Let me set the scene….. Jerry comes to. He doesn’t really know where he is or what’s going on. Just a few feet away he sees a set of double doors. Curious, he walks up and pushes the doors open. He sees a reflection of his younger self in the glass windows of the doors. He has a little bit more pep in his step. He feels energized. He hears a sound in the distance. The closer he gets the more familiar the sound. Basketball. He’s in a gym. There’s Kobe drenched in sweat, dribbling, shooting, dunking. Jerry walks up, Kobe stops, looks up at Jerry and tosses him the ball. Jerry catches it, then looks at it, they look at each other and Kobe says: “Are you ready?” 🙏🏾🕊️

Wow was this emotional! Fine job by everybody. My “relationship” with Jerry West. As a kid in New Jersey, our favorite entertainment was my dad taking us to Harlem Globetrotter games. They had this “point guard” … what was his name; oh yeah Wilt. I saw him live several times. I “followed” him into the NBA. I thought he’d be my favorite player for ever; but Jerry West “ruined” that. Ini a time of tremendous racism, the moment I saw his excellent bi-racial harmony with Elgin Baylor and their basically equal skill level - I became a Laker fan for life; and my two favorite players have remained West and Baylor. And in Their honor, I dedicated my entire adult life to the fight for Justice in this world. (I worked 40 volunteer hours a week for 10 years to help end the US slaughter of 2-3 million innocents in Vietnam (among several other causes). Later, I “met” Wilt at the San Diego Sports Arena at an ABA game. It was half-time, I was walking up the stairs and he was there in an aisle seat. He was almost as tall as me seated as I was standing. I couldn’t get a word out! He smiled at me with such compassion. Btw, I SWORE I’d never “embarrass” myself like that again. But a few years later, on a jog thru Balboa Park in San Diego, I almost collided with this giant redhead on a bicycle he dwarfed. It was Bill Walton. Again I froze. Do I get an “award” for being the world’s biggest fool?

He loved Baylor so much. It broke his heart when Baylor couldn't be there for 1972. That point Guard for the globetrotters must not have been too good he only lasted what a year? Probably too short. Thanks for sharing.

The very idea the Lakers allowed HBO to use their brand to defame Jerry West is disgusting.

I suspect the rift has something to do with the Phil/Jeanie relationship. That rift always makes me feel sad.

It's so sad. None of you people ever saw him play. F the rest. He was the GOAT. The outside shooting accuracy of Stef Curry but larger production and a All-World shut down defender.

What is really sad is when people lack knowledge and say the most disrespectful things like everyone was playing against short, slow, white plumbers. They couldnt play today though. The ignorance and disrespect just blows my mind at times.

@@michaelkraus4135 It just irks me, no end. He was such a fabulous player, much more so in comparison to all his prodigious accomplishments thereafter. "In your face" from the top of the key, over and over and over again. Frazier tried but no defense could stop it.

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I have the logo tattooed on my arm. R.I.P Jerry West, the Logo.
