    It's still neat to me that I've actually met AJ back in TNA. The shows were free if you had a ticket to Universal, and I had their season pass thing, so I'd go to the shows every now and then. Then they'd do free autograph signings after. Met AJ twice, he even remembered me the second time which was cool. Met Dusty also, and a few other guys.

  • @ravenjames3873

    @ravenjames3873

    6 жыл бұрын

    that's the only part i disagreed with Jericho on. Vince offered AJ Styles a contract to come to WWE years ago back in 2002, but AJ turned it down because he had just got married and he didn't wanna leave his wife. then when TNA first became a company, AJ and Samoa Joe were the 1st two guys hired by TNA. they added other people as well including a few girls, and they opened there first show live on Spike TV September 2003. AJ stayed all that time in TNA until 2012, when TNA began there downfall. in 2013 AJ went back to Ring of Honor for a year and then went on to New Japan, stayed there until he got the call from Vince in 2016 to come to WWE. so here we are.

  • @ravenjames3873

    @ravenjames3873

    6 жыл бұрын

    WakkymanZ: trust me when i say Vince knows more than what people think, he's a business man so of course he knew who AJ Styles was. i mentioned in my other post that Vince offered AJ a contract for wwe years ago when WCW was going out of business, but he turned it down at the time. AJ was supposed to come in around the same time Jericho did, so when TNA open there doors in 2003 that's when AJ went to TNA. Vince offered AJ a contract two years in a row, but AJ turned it down. now fast forwards the end of 2015, at some point a deal was made for AJ to come to WWE and that's when he showed up at the Royal Rumble.

  • @MinimiMax

    @MinimiMax

    6 жыл бұрын

    Raven James, numerous people have said that Vince doesn't even necessarily know the people who work for him that well. Just because Styles was offered a contract back in the day doesn't mean Vince knows who he is. I'm 100% sure AJ Styles was hired because of how much of a buzz he was making at the time. Vince only needed to know his name and that people are talking about him. But at the same time Vince assumed his audience wouldn't even know who AJ Styles is; because he didn't know who AJ Style is.

  • @ravenjames3873

    @ravenjames3873

    6 жыл бұрын

    MinimiMax: im not saying Vince knows everything, so im sure a few guys have slipped past his radar, but the reason i said he knows a bit more than people say, is because like his father Vince McMahon SR was proactive in the old WWF days of the 70's and early 80's just like in sports football and basketball there are scouts, people that go around and look for guys that will be professionals on the Pro level. so if you apply that to WWE and wrestling, it's the same thing. Vince McMahon JR is the Jerry Jones of the WWE, and the first thing that everyone knows about Jerry Jones even if the Cowboys ain't your favorite team is that unlike other owners Jerry not only is he the owner but he's also a manager. which means he doesn't sit on the sidelines and do nothing. we as fans just give him shit because he pushes certain wrestlers we don't like, but the truth of the matter is Vince isn't stupid. he knows that people don't wanna see Roman, but that's Vince for you. as far as AJ Styles goes, yes he may not know everything but he knows enough.

    This is what I love about Jericho. He's done what he wanted/needed to accomplish in the business. And now he's in it to give back. He wants to help the next generation of wrestlers be the best they can be. I also wonder if there isn't some kindred spirit thing between him and AJ. Jericho got knocked for being 'too small' to main event while in WCW. And AJ is even smaller than Jericho. Working with Jericho and Jericho also working to get AJ's move unbanned shows his respect for AJ... which builds trust and respect in the locker room.

    He said it best. To Vince the acting is more important than the wrestling itself. They try to hype it up like it’s a real sport but really It’s literally like watching a play. It make sense why a lot of them go to Hollywood.

    How did Vince not know who the hell AJ Styles was prior to him signing with WWE and how did he not know what the Styles Clash was and how could it have been banned in WWE when Michelle McCool was using the same exact move like 5 years prior to AJ’s WWE debut but called it the Faith Breaker? It’s all kinda hard to believe!

    The WWE took many years to build up their talent and they are able to extend them for many years after. The 'part timer' tactic that the WWE uses allows them to keep cashing in on old talent long after retirement age.

    I would've much preferred Owens keeping the title until WM than losing it to Jericho and who in April would lose it to Brock. Goldberg winning it in February was so stupid. Goldberg vs. Brock could've just as easily been at WM without the title on the line. I don't think anyone really wanted Goldberg to have the Universal Title.
