This album ,is in my opinion his best work to date. It's a shame that there will not be another chapter in his story. I am still in disbelief that he is gone. I am somewhat selfishly angry that this will be the last album. Thank you for the many years of beautiful music. Rip Chris Cornell.

After Chris died , I listened to this album and felt as if it was his suicide note . Listen to most of those songs , murder of blue skies , before we disappear , higher truth , through the window … . I get sad when I listen to this album

Best song on Higher Truth. The song-structure and O'Brien's production are impeccable. The song builds until the solo, and then explodes in sonic perfection.

OMG. This brought tears to my eyes. You know his final wife talked him into marrying her and proceeded to destroy not only the relationship but in the end, him as well. He was very hopeful for a better life without her in it and then she had him killed, allegedly in regards to the latter. Tragic.

the songs truer meaning is much more poetic than most of you are giving it credit for , yes you can take the literal simple meaning as if this is about his wife and it will make since but the greatness in these lyrics is much much deeper and metaphorical

Chris’ response makes me ask myself, “ How is Chris going to accomplish not being with this deceiver that led him to places that he didn’t want to be anymore?” Is there a hidden message in his song. Were there messages in his other songs?

They're about his wife Vicky who deceived him and trapped him into marrying her. He shouldn't have ever gotten involved with her and didn't make it out alive. He was divorcing her and she wouldn't have it so it looks like she had him murdered.

christar95 christar95 did he personally tell you that? Because there’s plenty of interviews where he speaks about his first marriage being abusive and a bad decision. Feel free to show your facts.

My take is personal as well, but with sense. That when someone, how many of us fall in love with someone & that person turns out to be totally opposite. They claimed to be warm and interesting then be a manipulative monster. And singing the chorus, "I cant wait to never be with you again" etc is a sort of regaining of what your single life used to be. It's a reclaiming of your independence, usually falling under manipulation or dependency upon someone that is incapable of mutual love...and its powerful. I love it! My ex wife may claim that way me, but I state that was her using me for personal gain. Marriage is the worst when you're legally trapped and the day after marriage the person you dated has changed completely knowing you're NOW. trapped. RIP Chris. GOD BLESS YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO US.

The lyrics tell me that he was so looking forward to never being with his wife Vicky again. Word had it that he was divorcing her and had actually found a nice woman to love. She had coerced him into marrying her by claiming she was pregnant by him (probably not true) then abused him horribly. She was the Murderer of his Blue Skies and he couldn't wait to get rid of her. She, allegedly, then had him killed for self-preservation and money.

I don't purport to know anything about their marriage, but he had a good 30 years of documented depression going on. To believe it was IMPOSSIBLE to commit suicide because he was so in love with you and it MUST have been something else is... Myopic? Egotistical, even? This man spent most of his life in a depressive state, yet it's impossible for his widow to accept that fact because she allegedly made him so happy? That's not how depression works.

He is laughing and crying in the same time, he is nearly insane in his bodyspeaking, a genius without power ,...., LOVE U CHRIS !!!! PS: And when u look for the last conzert, after 2 hours he died, u cant believe his performance. He was drugged, a punch of hair was missing on the top of her head. Terrible to watch !! There must be an" accident" for the conzert .
