Chris Cornell Explains The Song "Worried Moon" To Cameron Crowe

Ойын-сауық

Chris Cornell talks to Cameron Crowe about the song "Worried Moon", from Cornell's 2015 album Higher Truth.
Lyrics to "Worried Moon":
Worried moon shining bright
Can I sleep here tonight right beside you?
I got a long way to go
I'll be off in the morning
And I hope but I don't know
If she will have me back again
Or only want me for a friend
And leave a stain across my heart
That never washes out
Nervous moon
In the clouds
There's a halo around your proud face
And I'm glad that we're friends
I might see you again
Sooner or later, I guess
Yeah if it all goes wrong
And I'm a heart without a home
Maybe you can talk me out
Of doing myself in
Worried moon
I'm afraid of what's to come
Worried moon
Yeah, tell me what you know
Worried moon
You see further down the road
Worried moon
There you are, looking down
I'll be here on the ground if you need me
As I dream of a ghost
Of a love that has died
Or maybe not but it haunts me now
Worried moon
I'm afraid of what's to come
Worried moon
Yeah, tell me what you know
Worried moon
You see further down the road
Worried moon
Looking up, you are gone
I got into the city at midnight
All these eyes looking on
Make me blind or put me down
And the noise just drowns me out
Worried moon
I'm afraid of what's to come
Worried moon
Yeah, tell me what you know
Worried moon
You see further down the road
Worried moon
Dirty moon on the rise
Orange as fire but a bitter cold
You'll remember me I know
'Cause I have moved to another coast
With a new love to call my own
Maybe one day you can bathe us
In your blue light
Worried moon
Worried moon

this album is so awfully underrated it hurts to know how few of his fans even heard it. he really poured his soul out into the lyrics more than he did on any other project. such an incredible writer.

When I want to relax, this is the album I put on - Always. Back when I rode train for 1 hr to work, I would put this on, lose myself in the depth of it and slowly ease into a nap. I still do that at home. 10/10, perfect album.

Higher Truth is an incredible piece of art from a true genius - Cornell’s lyrics are deep, much like William Shakespeare’s words. Both of them gave us words that appeared either simple or incomprehensible at the same time. Only after diving deep into their works can one find the true meaning, and that is a reward worth searching for

I'd have to say he's probably one of the smartest artists that I like a lot. You can always tell how smart someone is just by the way they talk and answer a question cuz you can't fake intelligence you can hide it you can disguise it but you can't fake it.

What a soulful man he was. And beautiful inside out. The way he could carry an array of emotions with his words voice and music was astounding and deeply poignant. You know that question, fictional, if you could spend one hour on a park bench and talk to someone anyone for one hour? Well, I wish I could speak with Chris Cornell. I would thank him for all the beauty he’s created and shared so genuinely with the world.

I honestly believe that he was one of the greatest artists of our generation, such an incredible loss that he is gone. Speaks volumes that so many of his songs were letters to his own struggles in life. He was able to help so many people with his songs, but unfortunately he couldn't make it there himself. Rest in peace, hope you are happy wherever you are

@Camila Monho The more research I do the more I see that Chris never really spoke the whole truth about his personal life. Understandably. In fact many times he trolls the interviewer which shows his comical side. That dry sense of humor. As we get older and start reflecting on our lives, some things we haven’t dealt with come to the surface. I believe he was experiencing a lot of this between 2015 - 2017. I also find it interesting that he started incorporating “Moonchild” into some of his sets in 2015, 16. Just my opinion. ♥️☮️🦋

@@christinecanty5409agreed . I do believe he had difficulties coming to terms with his actions regarding Susan and Lily. I have no doubt this song is about Susan. He says it in this interview without saying it. I also think he did troll. I don’t believe half his stories anymore. He rewrote history for the public but his lyrics give him away. I think he knew that and figured if someone was paying attention they’d see it. Even singing Billie Jean. When he’d finish the song he’d say, “I guess it was true” very nonchalantly but if you’re paying attention. You know what he’s saying without saying it.

The line " maybe u can talk me out.." really hurts. It only makes the song seem that much more meaningful. Depression is like gravity you can't beat it alone. And if you try it just holds you down. Reach out if your down. Cause someone has already been where you are at right now.

Sadly missed. R.I.P. C.C. I pray your family finds peace. Wish you were still with us. When Seattle music came out in the 1990's....the 1st band I listened to was Alice in Chains in 1989 who is my favorite band with Laynes voice n etc.. After that was Soundgarden....i was hooked. Now so many ppl have died n i was happy Chris Cornell was still around. Also happy to know Pearl Jam are too. Now Chris is gone n Im so upset.😞 Alot of great music came from Seattle n its sad that most of the bands from then are missing at least one member due to an early grave. It is so heartbreaking. It sucks!!! R.I.P. A.W. K.C. L.S. M.S. J.B.S. S.W. C.C. C.B. n many more great musicians.
