4:20 "He was pretty excited about new sound garden music coming up. He had projects coming up." Sounds eerily like Kurt Cobain. Thanks for the video and the remembrance. Can't believe it's been 4 years already since Cornell's passing. Heck, hard to believe it's been 30 years since the 90's. RIP Chris!

Y'all need to lay off the pipe. The man struggled with severe mental illness and addiction issues his whole life. Most of his songs are literally about death and suicide. Chris openly expressed his love for Vicky at every opportunity. He wrong songs for her. He practically worshipped her. She might have an abrasive personality, believe it or not, Chris actually liked that. Someone else to handle the rabble. The last year or so before his death he looked drained. His eyes looked so damn tired, like someone hanging on by a thread. Also he was clearly on something stronger than a couple Ativan, and a barb. He was numbed out from the world. Apparently he wasn't tested for fentanyl, which was and still is a prevalent drug. Also it could have been omitted before public release to protect Chris' image. Really it's none of our business anyway. RIP Chris. You opened your heart to us, and left us a message of modesty and compassion. I'm sorry your message has fallen on deaf ears, and that your family is being tormented by the very people you tried to connect with. You and your beloved wife and children deserve better.

I've had an extremely out of character, unexpected and overwhelming urge to unalive myself - in spite of having two very young sons whom I adored and depended entirely on me, and me only. It was my first day on a new psych med - a mood stabiliser for what turned out to be a misdiagnosis of bipolar II. It hit me fast and out of nowhere, and in that moment I truly believed with every fibre of my being that everyone would be better off without me. It's terrifying to think back on many years later, how the idea of death was so incredibly seductive and all consuming. Thank god or angels or something, but I had the tiniest thought in the back of my head that this was not me, was not how I should feel, and I somehow found the clarity to pick up my phone and Google my new meds. I immediately found that suicidal ideation was a common side effect, and called for help. It was an emergency, I cannot express how hard and fast these ideations hit and how all encompassing they were. I am so incredibly grateful that I somehow survived this experience, and so devastated that so many have not survived it. Someone close to me lost her husband to it after a doctor brushed off his pleas. Chris's death hit hard, I was a child of the 90s who adored him and Soundgarden, and it kills me that such a talented and incredible soul was lost to us in this way. I hope he is at peace.

People just don't understand that people often kill themselves even though they appear fine on the outside. Years ago I remember hanging out with a friend of mine at a bar. He was so happy that day. He was talking about all the plans he had that he was looking forward to, talking about how beautiful life is, etc. Found out the next morning that he committed suicide shortly after he got home that night. No drugs involved. The human mind is so complex, we can't pretend to know what someone else is going through. I've even had suicidal thoughts when I was in a good place before, it's hard to explain. Sometimes death can be strangely alluring.

Chris was prescribed Ativan for anxiety, and his wife said he’d taken 2 tablets rather that one. I’ve used Ativan, and I don’t think that played a part in his suicide. It may have made him tired and slurring his words, but I think past addictions, mental health and past trauma were the main catalysts. Rock on, sweet Chris. 💚💜💚

How you can blame a doctor, as addicts are good at lying to doctors. He trusted Chris was taking as prescribed. But, everyone wants to blame someone. Was there any other drug in his system too? I agree with you. Ativan is a very mild benzo too. Possibly, if the doctor was aware he was in recovery, he should've ordered him to do regular pee tests. I know many alcoholics prescribed mild benzos. Nonetheless, it is a sad and tragic ending. If he had taken more and needed a higher dose, as he was abusing, that could have put him into a paranoid state.

Yeah, also her case against the doctor showed he was only taking 1 anti anxiety pill per day, for sleeping, due to a shoulder injury that caused him pain and made it hard to sleep. That's hardly a case for claiming that was an excessive amount and contributed to his suicide. She is just greedy and was after money. The coroner said the drugs in his system did not cause his suicide. I read where he had taken a dose that was the equivalent of 4 Ativan, prior to his death, however, that would just make you super sleepy, to the point where I'm surprised he was physically able to hang himself. I also note in this video that he seems a bit dozy, so I think he was on something there too.

To sing with that much soul and even a duet with his daughter at one time makes me think he would not do something this senseless. Feeling the rush after a fan filled concert and pleasing so many fans on stage he walks off and hangs himself ,No way.

Chris killed himself. That’s what happened. People can sometimes just… snap. They decide to end it seemingly randomly. There’s documented cases of people going out for a jog, putting there belongings on the ground, and then jumping off a bridge. Humans are complex.

Hi. Seems that upon returning to the hotel, he locked his door, went into the bathroom, affixed a rubber exercise band to the top of the door, closed the door so it would stay up there, put his beautiful head in it, & died of "partial hanging" (the official term) for when someone is found with their feet on the ground but their windpipe was closed by the weight of their limp body being pulled down by gravity.

Lol, absolutely. How embarrassing for her kids too. And his net worth has increased by 20 million since his death, and she has all of that now (60 million bucks), so it's not like she needs to sue people, or has the amount increased in part BECAUSE she successfully sued so many people? I note she's still single as I'm guessing no guy wants to go out with her. She might sue them if the relationship fails. She did successfully sue the doctor and had the court case sealed so that it doesn't get out to the media re how much she got.

To all people who blame his doctors for prescribing him the medications, hear me out: I do not know the exact circumstances of Chris' death, but I know that he was under the influence of a high dose of Ativan when he comitted suicide. I suffer from a similar condition that includes severe depression, suicidal behavior and panic attacks. I need Ativan regularly to temper these symptoms. This disease is a tightrope walk between life and death and even though I am prescribed medication that could lead to my death by suicide just as it did with Chris, I am well aware that the doctors are trying their best to help me and to prevent this from happening. This is not easy. There is no option for anyone but myself to take responsibility for my life and to choose life - or death. Chris Cornell died from a disease; not murder nor manslaughter. I think this is important to understand when watching this footage. Chris likely did not know this would be his fate on that day. But I suppose he did see it coming for years and he took the medication according to the doctors who tried to help him.
