Here's the problem with fights out of China; The CLF guys was amazing but the MT guy was obviously not an experienced fighter seems a bit of a mis-match

I agree. The MT looked like he might have knocked himself out in the 1st match

Love how he used the chop Choy to setup the sau Choy. In the clinch i noticed he was more inclined to use a takedown. I would've liked to see more knee strikes. We have them.

If he trained under a muay thai teacher, he is a muay thai fighter. you have to take your good and your bad. you can't just try to own the superstars. you own the chumps too.

the guy in the yellow uniform may be labelled as a CLF fighter, but this just looks like an ordinary kickboxing match. I don’t see any hammerfists, spinning backfists, sau choy, gwa choi, or anything resembling choy li fut. Besides, a well set up “gwa-chop-sau choy” or a “gwa-sau-jong” would’ve knocked down the Muay Thai fighter. I’m not saying the guy in yellow was a bad fighter, but Kung fu practitioners really need to apply their traditional techniques into full-contact fights if they ever want their art to be recognised as a unique, effective, and respected fighting style.

Did the rules allow backfists and other CLF techniques? Or were they fighting under Muay Thai or Kickboxing rules?

Indeed but, when they establish the rules of combat, they limit so much the CLF techniques, but when you practice CLF is very difficult to not applicate some moves by example in the minute 4:57, he don't think, is just his muscle memory.

@@zeta27w Choy Lee Fut is very very capable of winning fights just using our Chop Choy's, Sow Choys, and Uppercuts. if we can't just use those and win, then we need help. thank god it's not aboutthe style, but its always the person using it. my quote is this...."All styles are only as good as the person using it".

Do you guys believe this is "Choi" ? Where's the originality of practising Choi to practice kick boxing ?

@@hungsingkwoonusa650 First of all, I got nothing against this style and martial arts in general and I don't troll. I'm free to give my opinions. I speak for the true of what masters pass on to their students. There 3 main branches from master CHAN HEUNG created apparently in 1836, by who was, supposedly,THE FOUNDER OF CHOY LEE FUT:King Mui. Fat Sam (Hung Sing) and Bak Sing (Tam Sam) who developed Chag Choy style. However, the ministry of culture of China claims that its real foundation was in 1850 thanks to master Cheung Hung Sing. And many "Masters" teach the mixture of all of them, they put it all in one same style. I'm not saying it's wrong. They follow the tradition. Monk Choy Fook, who is suposed to have survived the destruction of Shaolin Temple Julianshan form Fukien, was taught Choy Box. And many masters retired in the mountiains contributed to this martial art. What I mean is that the fight is way different from the sparring or fights taught in the dojos. What I see in this video looks like an attempt of Muay Tai.
