Thank you so much! Yeah sometimes it was pain in the ... to wait for nothing, but on some days owls were very active and was pretty easy :) The lack of light in january here was difficult :)

Thanks a lot Vadim! I think I kind of distubed it, because I was close to the vole, but couldn't know in advance where the owl were going to hunt :)

Thanks a lot! i tried to figure out wether they were naded or not, but didn't succed. No idea so... I guess it might be difficult, because they have so much feathers as they would be wearing boots :)

@@sylvaineckhardt I understand, you would probably have to catch them to find out if they had a band on their legs. I've seen videos of Great Grey Owls remaining calm and still even with people getting very close to them though, which should make them easy to catch if they're just sitting there waiting for prey.

BTW who's the great photographer? This movie is so amazing!

Yeah it was OK, the snow was smooth this winter 2017-2018 and it is their normal way to hunt voles under the snow. In the spring when the snow surface is getting harder it can maybe hurt. At least hunting with deep and crusted snow might a big problem for them.
