Great Grey Owl - Strix nebulosa
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
The Great Grey Owl is not a common species in the Scanndinavian countries, but in some places it's breeding.
It's a very beautiful bird. One of the worlds largest owls. But it's weight is only about 1-1.2 kg. It's large size is mostly because of it's fluffy feathers, long tail and head.
The underparts are light with dark streaks, the upper parts are grey with pale bars. Head with a grey face and yellow eyes with darker circles around them. It's talon is huge!
The most fascinating I found with this bird, was it's complete silent flight.
The Lap owl is mostly active during the night, most of this shoots is done during late evening and night/early morning.
