My wife and I live near a lake with a lot of trees. Two baby Barn Owls apparently fell out of their nest and landed in our yard. Our dog had them cornered before we intervened - the owls were screaming and the dog was barking. The owls were so young they could not fly yet. But they sure could scream! We rescued them from our dog and brought them in our house. I dropped a towel on them and they quickly calmed down. We put them in our guest bathroom behind the shower doors in the bathtub. We kept them for 2 weeks. We fed them feeder mice starting with "pinkies" then "fuzzies". Eventually, we upgraded their diet to "hoppers". Just before we let the owls go, we fed them live small adult mice. They gobbled them up. We let the owls go a few weeks ago. We thought we'd never see them again. The very next night after releasing them (to our delight) both of them returned to a tree nearest our house. They were squawking like crazy standing side by side, wing to wing. Right after sunset they return to our trees every night and start their hunting activity. Besides the palm trees, they seem to prefer the dome cover that sits on top of our fireplace. Based on the number of pellets we see every day, they're not having any problem finding something to eat. We feel very lucky that we had the opportunity to save those helpless little guys. Apparently, our home has become their home.
i have always loved owls because of their fantasy and magical like feel, and because theyre cute

I love owls because there white underbelly and under wings , coupled with there sharp teeth and silent flight gives them the appearance of ghosts. The peaceful avian spirits that hunt the wicked. Beautiful to us but the assassins of white to there prey.

Lizzy G the other person deleted their comment, but from your comment, I can tell that they were joking, but you didn’t get the joke -_-
Owls are such majestic creatures especially when flying .
Quite the most beautiful bird. This year we finally had a pair breed successfully in one of our boxes. It completely made our year.
I love all owls, but Barn owls have to be my favorite.
I was lucky enough to witness a Barn Owl hunting off the Northumberland coast recently for a number of days. I sat there watching from the bay windows and then out on the beach front as it searched for prey and it was the one of the most emotional experiences of my life, they're just majestic.
Impressed with their eyes, not like most bird eyes, more like a mammal's.
My God, unbelievably beautiful owl ... love love love ... thank you so much bbc
i love the white snowy owl wow

True. I am living in the south of Italy. Last night I went in veranda and saw a big white bird flying quietly over my house towards the Valley of my current town Mottola. It was magic. I was not prepared and didn't registered. I make videos of animals, of my martial arts practice and music and dance, on my channel. Love and blessings to everyone. 🐲🌀💎💖🐦🐚⛵🐚🐚🐚🦕🐼🐦💖🌈💎🧞♂️🦜🐢🐲 Thanks so much for this video.
Gods animals are so perfect! I want to kiss the heart face
Majestic creature ❤
It's really very cute. I love it and thank the Almighty for this wonderful creation
Like an angel of the moonlight 🌙 night sky 🌌 that flies graceful and elegant.
Fantastic clip, shows just how great nature is and that we need to do all we can to protect species from human invasion as much as we can.
I love BBC
I recently installed an owl box in my hay shed , and after about three months we have a barn owl resident.
Wow. That is a BEAUTIFUL animal.
We saw one today..... coming out of a barn!
Amazing creature I tell you

All the folk who contributed to this clip deserve a raise. I really, really enjoyed everything about it.
Although not advertised, the goats and deer were also beautiful.
Beautiful way to start the day...peacefully....thank you.
So cuteeee 🥺
Looks like a really nice documentary to watch. Thanks for the upload.
such grace, beautiful!
Beautiful Owl so elegant !! Pretty video💙💙
Beautiful, good commentary. Just shows how great nature is!
Not to be nitpicky but it seems they've edited it so that you can hear wing flaps. Doesn't really make sense when you say they fly silently and then add in sound effects. Barn owls are very nearly completely silent when they fly which makes them such great hunters. I know it's supposed to add to the feel of the video but it's just annoying and inconsistent. Sorry for sounding like a nerd and a critic, just giving an opinion. :)

I found that really annoying too. I have had barn owls fly within a few feet of me when I've been filming them and I have never once heard the slightest sound from their wing beats.

I heard that too....despite the inappropriate addition of music. Such a shame humans have to ridicule natural sounds, or pleasing silence, in this way.
So graceful
I love this video. It seems so familiar. And snow on trees makes me think of lace.
These are my favourite animals. ❤
Amazing, we are doing owls for school, so will definitely add this video
Beautiful 😍🥰🦉

Their heads look funny, like the body stops at the neck and the neck became the face
I have this owl
I love owls especially great horned owl they are strong but they can't beat the strongest species of bird eagle
I suppose negative comments will make all the difference, conservation is something everyone can take part in one way or another, my way is through hunting, we have many feral species in NZ and one way of controlling their damage is through hunting to protect what nature we do have. Its always sad to see so many haters.
Deftones got me on my booklearnin shit
Does anybody know the name of the soundtrack in the beginning? Beautiful, just like the bird...
please show more video of this kind, not the ones with pretentious voice-overs

Hi peeps, I wike birdys
Who persuades filmmakers that 'background' music should accompany every film? Do you have it in every part of your daily life? If so, i recommend listening to nature, wiithout destroying human ability to discern what is naturally occurring in the surroundings. Music accompanying every video tells me a human is not thinking independently but following the flock like a sheep.
The barn owl is not the closest to the ghost ,the barn owl is the ghost .The ghost as we imagine it,dose not exist.Don't keep believe in the STUPIDITY of the past ,my friend.
