I'm happy you got emotional with this one. I was impressed initially by how synchronized they were. I watched a documentary from 2016 performance and it almost didn't happen because they couldn't do it well enough. But it's understandable that they did it in 2019 when Kano was student council president. Kano is considered one of the best dancers in SG. She was Performance Chairperson in the previous year and you can markedly see the choreo is alot tighter and brisk. Kano was a really good teacher when she gets into teacher mode. No fooling around or anything like her usual self. As others have mentioned, all four @OneFive girls are in this class, all graduated together and became @OneFive. The four girls are Kano Fujihara, Soyoka Yoshida, Tsugumi Aritomo, and Momoe Mori. They all got along and worked really well together. Even their homeroom teacher, Mori-sensei, said so in his graduation speech. And he said it was a miracle that they would continue as OneFive after graduation.

Very interesting to learn that about Kano. She is awesome. Just another reason she was my favorite Avenger. I like them all and super happy with Momoko, but Kano was just too adorable. No wonder Moa wanted to step up her dance game. And said how the Avengers pushed her to do so.

@@mikepowers9486 Moa had to because both Kano and Momoko were among the best dancers in SG. It's good they pushed her to do better as the choreo was a little bit loose in the olden days of Sakura Gakuin. The choreo got alot tighter as the years went by depending on who the Performance Chairperson was. And SG suffered a bit in Moa and Yui's senior year as they were on the BM world tour and didn't practice with the other girls as often as they would have. I like them all too. Riho is a pretty good dancer too in her own right. Watch any of her music videos and you'll get a good idea how good she really was.

@@Codametal Whilst Kano and Momoko were amongst the best dancers in SG, Moa had to contend with the Muscle Metals in 2018. Those were two professional dancers with years of pro dancing experience under their belt, something that Kano and Momoko, no matter how talented they were could not compete with. Remember that Maru choreographed @15 before Kanata took over.

A world without Sakura Gakuin is a lesser place indeed.

Nendo 2019, the best nendo Sakura Gakuin EVER produced. No other nendo comes close. Led by the best dancer in Sakura Gakuin history, Kano Fujihira.

Su, Moa, and Yui actually performed this with Sakura Gakuin in 2012, when it was first performed during the group's annual "School Festival" concert. A short low-res clip is part of a special year-in-review video on the "Ra" edition DVD for the 2012 album "My Generation." The dancing was pretty rough. It was performed again in 2015 (5th Anniversary Concert) after all the Babymetal members had graduated, in 2018 for the 2017 Nendo Graduation Concert, and then again in 2019 for the School Festival (which you just reacted to). The dance performance has improved quite a bit over the years, even as the members change. The instrumental is on the 2020 album "Story" on Spotify if you want to try your own choreo. Edit: I forgot the 2020 "Happy Xmas" Concert performance. This has only the eight final members before the group was disbanded. The opening of this performance hits harder than any of the others in my opinion, but the choreo suffers from a decision to not have the members ever touch each other, even in the "huddle" part. The timing is affected, and the later "open the gates" part looks off. The 2019 performance is the best.

I think you'd enjoy watching the Hello!Project dance club. Hello!Project is another jpop idol company with a graduation system and several different groups, and the dance club is made up of the best dancers from those groups. I think you'd like the formation dances that modern Morning Musume does as well, they're always interesting.

I found the opinions of experts on this dance performance by Sakura Gakuin very interesting. Sakura Gakuin, like a real school, has a turnover of members every year. Although they are not professional dancers, it is an honor for them to be able to perform this dance on stage. It is truly amazing that they can execute not only the complex dance choreography by MIKIKO but also the vocal parts with precision. While Sakura Gakuin no longer exists, I am proud to have been a long-time supporter. The intensity of the singing and dancing in this video is amazing. It's always fun to see the SG girls in action 🤗 there's lots of buzz amongst Babymetal fans as to who the permanent 3rd member of the group is going to be when they reveal her in April. The popular opinion is that it's going to be Momoko but there's a small hope with the fans that we're going to see the return of Yui since the reveal is going to happen in her hometown. That would be too much to hope for but who knows 🤷. Whoever it is in all likelihood it's going to be an SG girll,in the end only the Fox God knows 🦊🤘

@@xiaouiris it very well may be Momoko, what people forget is that there have been many versions of Babymetal early on at SG. Many of those girls have performed in the roles that eventually ended up being Su,Yui and Moa. At the end of the second show last month the new girl was there but her identity was obscured to the fans, but she did have pigtails. It's going to be fascinating to see how this plays out,who knows what tricks Koba has up his sleeve 🦊🤘

@@christopherjq7414 Slight correction, there has only been one version of Babymetal since the beginning with Suzuka Nakamoto, Yui Mizuno, and Moa Kikuchi. Each one were specifically chosen to represent the Heavy Music Club in SG, Suzuka for her vocals and stage presence, Yui and Moa for their twin like appearance and similar size. When Yui left, they added 3 rotating dancers (avengers) to fill Yui's spot, Kano Fujihara, Riho Sayashi, and Momoko Okazaki. Momoko has been the only avenger performing for the past few years, and still in this last concert last month. Even at the beginning of the concert with Metal Kingdom, there were THREE thrones on stage, with Su-metal sitting in the middle one. So there is much anticipation for the reveal next month. We shall see who will become the third permanent member. And you mentioned 'tricks Koba has up his sleeves'. It's funny you mentioned that because I suspect the third figure revealed at the end of the concert is a stand in, because if it really was the permanent third member, fans would have recognized who she was as they easily recognized all of the 10 'apostles' with staves at the concert. Cause Koba is smart enough to know if he put the real person there, fans would recognize her and would spoil his reveal. There were fans on either side of the reveal too, and no one recognized her profile. Koba's smoke and mirrors!

Sakura Gakuin members have covered BABYMETAL songs in one night only, single song Shuffle units, but that was definitely after Su, Yui and Moa were established as BABYMETAL.

Yes, Moa and Yui left in 2015 and Su in 2013; the yearly turnover of SG members was a founding concept and each year ended with a big emotional graduation ceremony/concert. One thing that I like about SG (and BM and AG) is the experimentation and different musical styles. SG definitely developed over the years, but the amateur/girl next door vibe common in Japanese Idol thankfully persisted. Here we get Mikio doing some techno group voguing, and who doesn't enjoy that?

This reaction makes me happy, I suspected it was right up your alley, these kids are kind of special (but I'm probably a bit bias). Like Babymetal, they almost seem fearless, which they clearly aren't of course. They can be because of training and training until they get it right. Sadly it's one of very few times they got to not sing and just dance. It would have been great to see them do that more because they would be more free to dance and can show case more of what they can do. Did you know they even performed with Perfume ones at 'Amuse Fes' in 2017 ? (Sadly I think it would be blocked if you react to it, unless you do some tricks, I'll try and post a link as a reply to this comment, a lot of the time comments with links get marked as spam). This is from Perfume's 'radio program', translated by a single SG fan with some translation notes. One of the Perfume members had been to SG shows that year, she was very impressed. 7:04 Last weekend we had Perfume Fes 2017 and Amuse Fes, to everyone who kindly came to see it, thank you very much. It was in different days, really that was exciting. 7:20 At this live show together with cool artists we like there is a sort of fighting spirit, a feeling that you don't have to lose 7:36 it's people with completely different paths, that's incredible. At Amuse Fes we performed 'Spending all my time' with Sakura Gakuin 7:48 yes, we made a collaboration. 7:50 that was the highlight of the show 7:52 in Sakura [Gakuin] even the girls from 5th grade who had joined the group only a couple of months before could properly learn [the dance moves] 7:59 you know, we started dancing when we were in 5th grade but dancing that after 2 months would have been impossible 8:04 amazing! they really have guts! seriously. 8:08 I felt something like a 'don't underestimate us' kind of feeling. The managers were reeally worried, right? Yes. Like, I wonder if they can do it. I don't know. - but only Nocchi [* I think the one who's talking here is Aa-chan, but I don't know their voices well] said 'I guess they can!' 8:21 Just that member, like, even the teacher [* i.e. MIKIKO I guess] said it was a bit risky, and we thought maybe they wouldn't be able to do it as well. 8:29 but they gave us this 'I'll show you!' kind of feeling. I'm happy.

Children are lighter, and energetic movements are easier for them. Adults have to contend with the inertia of their heavy bodies.

I would argue that the final nendo of SG was the most proficient in dance and vocals. They reached a level of professionalism that would put any idol group to shame. It's a shame that they closed as I could only imagine futher nendos with Miki and then Yume as class Presidents.

The later generations of SG is better in dance skill actually. It looks so professional!

Great reaction! You may or may not have noticed a Babymetal Avenger (Kano) in there. This is definitely a whole new generation of Gaku's. I can't remember if you have watched any @onefive (KANO, SOYO,GUMI AND MOMO) yet but, all four of them are in here. It was their Senior year. This is a one off routine iirc. No singing, only dancing and like you said, taking breaks. It is a lot of fun to watch. I will also add another vote to react to Babymetal's newest MV Light and Darkness. There is some cool choreography in it.

@@xiaouiris You might take a look at them, they are still looking for success sadly but who knows what will come. About the Let's dance show: yes it's still Mikiko, yes it's a new gen of gakus ( Moa and yui left in 2015 and su in 2012) but the seniors (like Kano) of 2019 did learn from them. That's the point with SG, every year bring new blood and graduates leaves, but the new senior are taking the show to new highs making SG better and better through the years. ( basically every year the ones who reach 15y leaves and are replaced by new members)

This is a fairly rare routine, but SG has performed it before- once in 2012 and again in 2015. I'm not sure where to find the 2012 version but the 2015 one, from the 5th Anniversary Live, can be found on the Fukei Guide in the SG subreddit.

This is pretty cool, I had almost forgotten about this. It is pretty different. You can't really speak of a "new generation" when it comes to SG, because girls entered and left every year. But if you compare it with the time when the BABYMETAL girls were still members, it is. When I saw a new reaction video of yours posted, I expected it to be to the new BABYMETAL song "Light And Darkness". You probably got a lot of requests for that one, you can add me to the list. I'm sure you'll find it interesting.

Yeah the last few SG year, they had so many talented girls! 2 of late SG girls, Sakia and Miko, got "hired" by Babymetal to perform with them on stage on 1 song, "Doki Doki Morning"! I saw someone already suggested @onefive: they aren't having much success, but they are really active on social media and making tons of content on TikTok, trying to keep and engage fans! But honestly, most of their songs are not that good...

Apparently a few more of the SG girls took part in the concert, along with some Ciao girls. I think they were they mysterious figures featured in the Metal Kingdom MV.

@@jimdandy9274 Yes, it was visually confirmed that Yume and Miki were also among the 'apostles' carrying staves in Metal Kingdom. Also there was Yume's younger sister Junna. Some of the other girls were from Amuse Camp. Momoko may have been one of them. And it was rumored that Riho Sayashi (former avenger) was one of them too, but this isn't confirmed.

@@BlackArr0w It wasn't Kokona Nonaka from SG. It was Kokona Sato from Amuse Camp. Kokona K. also performed as part of what we've been calling Chibi Babymetal with Miko and Sakia in that peformance.

They were just signed to a new label late last year. And their earlier stuff is really poppy. There are a few songs that are very different, Underground and that alphabet song which I'm not to big of a fan of. We're all hoping with the new label they can become more popular. I really like their latest song. I can't even tell you the name of it cause the title is in Japanese. 8-) But I've watched it many times and I really like it. I think it's mostly because of the choreo attached to the song that makes the difference for me.
