Su she is always going 110% hair flying everywhere then her vocals and Yui (chèeks and spot on with courography )and Moa ( dimples and always smiling ) Sakura Gakuin is part of the BabyMetal history and it's so much fun to watch . ❤️ 😁🤘🦊

Great stuff - sorry I missed this when you posted it. I can't add much about Sakura Gakuin - certainly nothing you haven't already been told, but it is all very wholesome entertainment and the more you watch the better you get to know each of the girls and their personalities. Part of the fun for BABYMETAL fans at least is spotting Su, Yui and Moa from BABYMETAL. In the first year or two it is easy - Yui and Moa were the two smallest girls, Su always looks like she is dancing at least twice as hard as all the other girls.

Sakura Gakuin (Cherry Blossom Academy) was a school themed, age limited Idol Group. All of the girls were ages 10 - 15. As the girls ended their period of mandatory education at age 15, they "graduated" out of the group to go pursue their career goals and new "transfer students" would rotate in. There were sub-units called "clubs" that had various themes. There was a baton club called Twinklestars, a cooking club called Minipattissiers (both Yui and Moa were members of both), among others. Babymetal was the heavy music club, consisting of Suzuka, Yui and Moa. In this video, Yui and Moa are the 2 smallest girls and Suzuka is among the taller girls. Sakura Gakuin was not a real school. It was school-themed and all of the girls went to regular schools in addition to SG. Suzuka and one of the other girls had to commute by train from Hiroshima to Tokyo every day for SG. Yes in the full group formation, no one girl takes the center of attention as you see here. They all share the spotlight. There are some videos of Yui and Moa performing with Hana as Minipattissiers. Very cute and fun. Link: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y3mbuZeTZ7OreM4.html The two tallest girls graduated out in 2011. Suzuka in 2013 but still performed as a member of Babymetal as it was specifically formed around her. Yui and Moa graduated out in 2015, officially making Babymetal a completely independant unit. Both Suzuka and Moa were "Student Council President" or group leader, responsible for inspiring, motivating and organizing the greater group their respective last years in Sakura Gakuin.

"The two tallest girls graduated out in 2011." The three oldest members (including the two tallest) actually graduated in March of 2012. That was the end of the 2011 Nendo (school year). Su graduated in March of the next year, which was 2013, like you said.

I don't think the commute was every day. I think she went in weekends and stayed over for the night. The dance studio you might see SG training in at times, used to be used by Amuse for 'beehive', a previous training group, it has some dorms where they can sleep and shower, etc. of course. If you look at some old Perfume videos when they were part of beehive, you'll see 1 other room other than the dance studio I believe.

🌸 🏫 I've got to say that it's really great to see reactions to BABYMETAL and Sakura Gakuin dance routines. It's a real treat. The choreographer for both groups is MIKIKO (Mizuno), who has also been the choreographer and stage director for the J-Pop legends Perfume, since their Inception back in Hiroshima. In addition, MIKIKO has her own modern dance troupe ELEVENPLAY. She also created the dance routines for Su's first pro group (the J-Pop trio Karen Girl's). Like a lot of Sakura Gakuin songs, 'Verishuvi' is about having a positive attitude. Verishuvi (or berishubi) is a nonsense do-wop word that was used in some Japanese Jazz songs. After they recorded the song, Sakura Gakuin members started using the expression "very shoovy" to mean something that's cool or interesting. This song was on the second Sakura Gakuin album, 'Sakura Gakuin 2011 Nendo: Friends'. The special Vega mix version of the BABYMETAL song 'iine!' was also included on this album.

Well I wasn't expecting this so soon, in a way it helps to understand where the BabyMetal girls comes from. I'm not a Sakura Gakuin expert, i know some things here and there but i already saw some familiar users that will help you with bunch of info. Nice you know something about the meaning of this group. This song came out at the end of their second year of formation in 2011, so they got a little bit of training and like i told you previously this group, along with BabyMetal, got Mikiko Mizuno as the choreographer. Verishuvi is just a funny word they invented with the intention to become trendy when pointing out something is exciting or very good and fascinating, iirc. This MV and everything around 2010 - 2012 got more sense to watch after traveling BabyMetal journey a little bit more, so you can spot all of our three girls in here, but just a hint for you, the moment you did "awwww" was when Moa-chan and Yui-chan show up, both super tiny extra "smol" kawaii. UwU Is not actually an academy, is a show with school theme, but despite this fact the girls actually are taught to be idols and learning everything they need to be prepared for the entertainment industry. All these girls are super-ladies now or at least got the training to become one, that's the goal of the show. Some of them are models, others actress, singers, dancers, with more and less success but almost all of them are still active. But our three main girls participated of this show until 2014 so you won't see them on this group after that year or more exactly after March 2015 when they graduated, but this group disbanded sadly last year, due to pandemic situation and lack of live shows, the idol scene was severely damaged, hopefully this won't last too long since recently they open up the gates to foreign and tourism. But the level on dancing on these girls and newer generations grew up a lot, trust me you're gonna be fascinated if you like this type of songs and how they improve a lot throughout the years, and even some of them become backup dancers of BabyMetal after YuiMetal left the group in 2018. Anyway thanks for sharing this, i strongly suggest you to go back to BM songs, since recently they announced some news about their return is really hard to upload certain songs that usually are safe to react because apparently Amuse (the company label all of them belongs) gets super annoying with the copyright blocked, so don't worry if you can't upload some of those clips or after certain time it's taken down, let's just wait until the heat is off. See you next time 🦊🤘💮

Just a few minutes in and I've spotted Yui-Metal (Yui Mizuno) of Babymetal. .And a moment later, Su-Metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) is singing a solo. I might have identified Moa- Metal (Moa Kikuchi), but I'm not as confident as with the other 2. Short chipmunk-cheeked Yui just stands out in a crowd and soon as I heard Su sing it was obvious. As a massive Babymetal fan, it is a joy to see their pre-Babymetal days. And what a fun challenge of trying to find the Babymetal girls in the crowd. A metal version of "Where's Waldo?"

Sakura Gakuin was (they disbanded last year) a school themed j-pop group formed by the Amuse Talent Agency in 2010. Sakura Gakuin means Cherry Blossom Academy and the conceit had the girls performing songs as the whole "school" and in sub-groups with themes like cooking and baton twirling and of course there was the heavy metal club that became Babymetal. It was a vehicle for young Amuse female talent, but it's not a real school other than the girls learnt talents needed in the entertainment industry. Each year there was a CD produced and when the girls reached 15 they would leave the group and be replaced by younger girls, a bit like a talent conveyer belt. The themes were all positive and generally revolved around working hard, empowerment and bettering yourself to become a "Super Lady". Babymetal's producer, Kei Kobayashi, created them within Sakura Gakuin around Suzuka Namamoto's voice and the cuteness of the two smallest girls in this video, Yui Mizuno and Moa Kikuchi. For a time Su, Moa and Yui were performing in BM and SG at the same time while also having to go to regular school which was a heavy work load! Many of the girls in this video are still performing as either actresses, models or singers. The two who were strongly promoted for their voices were Su and Ayami Muto who were in Karen Girls before SG. Su left SG and continued on with BM and Ayami Muto went solo in 2013, but had a falling out with Amuse and was let go a few years later - she's now back singing with another label. Moa Kikuchi is also still with Su in BM, but Yui left BM in 2017/18 - slightly strangely she is still under contract to Amuse even though she's made no public appearances for 5 years.

I...am...SO...happy you're reacting to an SG video. The target audience was supposed to be girls their age to show the potential of what young girls can achieve. This group has inspired many girls to try to join Sakura Gakuin (some had and succeeded!). You are going to LOVE your Sakura Gakuin journey because there are 10 years of material you can go through. Every year, the 15 year olds graduate out and new girls are brought in as replacements (usually younger girls so they can attend for the full 5 years). As the upcoming 'seniors' become leaders of the group, they bring their own interpretation to the songs, making the school year in their 'colors'. So even though they may perform the same songs, it will be slightly different. When SG disbanded last year, they had a total of 36 graduates that are on their way to becoming 'super ladies'. The choreo for every song is different, but imho beautifully done and age appropriate, and appropriate to the song. If you love this song, you will love many of their other songs. They have 2 concerts a year that they release on DVD, the Sakura Gakuin Festival, and the Road to Graduation. But they perform much more than that as they do many many many events and appearances throughout. The girls are hardworking and dedicated. They all still attend regular school and are expect to keep up with their regular schoolwork and homework from SG. All have SG lessons in the evening along with practices. Each year, the seniors are assigned as Student Council chairpersons, led by a student council president. This enables them to learn leadership skills and learn to overcome their weaknesses depending on the 'job' they were assigned to do. For instance, the Performance Chairperson's responsibility is to be sure each girl learns and does all of the choreography correctly. Each senior supports, helps, and encourages all of the younger 'sisters' in whatever help they need, whether it's a cuddle because they miss their families, help with their homework, help with interpreting a song or a movement, or moral support. The bonds they create with each other are strong, and it makes them almost closer than sisters. So sometimes when you watch them performing, you can sometimes get a glance at the way they look at each other to either check up on how they're doing during the performance, and to encourage each other to smile and have fun. And yes, they have ALOT of fun. They love doing what they're doing. It's hard, it's tough, it's alot of work, alot of relationship dynamics and fights (they are teenage girls after all), but they all learn to get along with each other and learn what the power of their relationship. One lesson that was taught is that even though they are considered rivals (competitors in the idol industry), they are also very good friends (hopefully). Trivai: Suzuka Nakamoto (Babymetal's lead singer Su-metal), used to do a weekly commute from her hometown of Hiroshima to Tokyo on Fridays after school on a 5 hour bullet train, spend the weekend at the Amuse dorms practicing and having lessons with the other girls, then another train ride home Sunday night. There is one motto the girls have that came from the advice of the first student council president, and that is no matter what happens or how you feel, "smile your best." And that has persisted throughout the 10 year history of the group. I'm excited for you. I sincerely hope you continue doing more reactions to Sakura Gakuin. Thank you for doing this. Sorry for the long winded comment.

I forgot to recommend a few videos if you decide to continue. This one is called School Days. The uniforms change every two years, so it is still them, just different colored uniforms. The beginning has a nostalgic look back at the previous class years. kzread.info/dash/bejne/f5t6j9aJqbWaiqg.html. My Graduation Toss, live from Road to Graduation Class of 2012. This one had one graduate, Suzuka Nakamoto. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lYiDp8mQdaqyhJs.html. All three Babymetal girls are in this. And yes, most if not all the girls are crying at the end because it was going to be the last time they perform together with Suzuka (graduations are usually a tearfest). Suzuka, as student council president, is also crying, but her professionalism shines through as she continues to sing and smile, and occasionally she gives her 'sisters' a smile of encouragement to keep going and stay strong. Edited: The fans are called the Fukei (elder sibling, or something of that nature), and often get attached to the girls because we literally watch them grow up for however many years they are in the group. They had a weekly livestream that simulates a classroom setting with 4 girls at a time so the fans can get to 'know' the personalities of the girls. It was a genius way of them creating fans of the girls for life regardless what they decide to do after they graduate from SG.

Sorry for being late, thank you for doing this reaction. Great that you loved it so much ! This was actually really interesting, you pointed out some great things. About the smiling: of these songs, including groups like Babymetal, have designated parts which have a facial expression associated with the movement. This catchy song, if you check the comments, actually has a bunch of metal bands in the comments who were into extreme metal music, but through Babymetal ended up on this video. It's kind of a fly trap 🙂 One reason for the basic steps is because this ground only existed for their second year yet and because a couple of them are new to dancing. Also the choreographer likes to incorporate 'every day moves' 4:54 yes, the movements incorporated in Babymetal and Sakura Gakuin, etc. are interpretations of the lyrics. Now as a foreigner with a translations and not being part of the Japanese culture, many times I don't know why a certain move goes with the translated lyrics I have. But I think a lot of the times it's an expression in the language that has an associated move which is cultural.

Nobody has mentioned it to you yet, but the reason why they're this good is because they were trained and choreographed by the director of Japan's Olympic opening ceremony - Mikiko; their training was very meticulous, they said themselves that they were trained to turn the right angle of their fingertips and calves; with a training like that, no wonder they're this good. Another thing about them is that their songs are top notch, heads above most of idols group in Japan since the group was made by Amuse, a company that runs some of the most prominent music groups in Japan like Southern All Star, Perfume, One Ok Rock; they had team of world class composers making songs for them. They were also awarded the Best Performance by Tower Record (the largest CD store chain in Japan) in 2020; the CEO is their die-hard fan - so, you can see the picture of how good they were to have a person that important in music industry as hardcore fan. You should see the later years, especially the 2nd generation. The group became much better at what they do after years of experience, their performance started to skyrocket in 2013 because they had Raura the drill sergeant (the bob girl in this clip) and the successive girls continued her drilling regime. If you want to do a reaction, I'll recommend this drive.google.com/file/d/1FIp2p-dTjlR-7y2QBr2Z8sjDVWfEuQNx/view; this is 2016 performance of IJI - and in my opinion - their best performance ever. It's the first year that the group only consist of 2nd generation, their president Sara (the short hair lead girl) had a thing about song meaning and made all the girls discussed meaning and recited each song's concept repeatedly, deepening their bond with the songs they inherited form their seniors.

What is interesting to see is how the group has some 'institutional knowledge' which carries over between the years when members leave and new ones get added. The 'teachers' (staff) and existing members know better and better how to transfer that knowledge to new members and integrate them so the quality went up. Obviously talent and training played a big part too.

Did you spot the Babymetal girls? This song was the first single released when the group formed in 2010 (I think) The girls had not been together long and some of them had no previous dance or vocal experience. Others such as Suzuka and Ayami had just come from another jpop group that sang some songs for an anime and did some live shows and promotional work. The group was formed from talented girls signed with the agency Amuse, it was for girls aged between 10 and 15 and was given a school theme. They were instructed in dance, singing, public speaking, modeling etc. to prepare them for careers in entertainment. They were encouraged to smile a lot because part of being an idol is to create a following that then remain loyal and support you through your career. There are a lot of videos from them to react to, the girls are all adorable and the videos just brighten up the day for you. The Nendo tests are fan favorites, very funny.

Su dances with a unique type of "bounce" so she's not hard to spot or you can just look out for her ears! I can't remember if the heavy music club, aka BABYMETAL, was formed yet at the time of this video.

If you look closely you will see Su, Moa and Yui of BabyMetal. This is where it all began !! Amazing pre-BabyMetal presence. Thank you so much for presenting this for us to see. 💖 But then again only the Fox God knows for sure !

Nice reaction. SG as they are commonly known at least outside of Japan have some famous members who were part of the group you just watched. Besides all 3 original members of Babymetal. One of them even was in a netflix movie. Alice in the borderlands. Something like that. She was pretty good in it. I think that was Ayami she's one of the taller performers here. SG has a few feel-good songs. One of the other subunits was Minipatty. They have a great song about building the best burger ever. Fun to see the choreography for that one. Minipatty was around before the producers decided to create SG. But not by much since they were all kids when this started.

You already got all the info about this, so I'll just say that you should definitely check out more Japanese Idol groups like Morning Musume and W(double you). Also if you aren't already aware of them, the japanese high school dance troupe Tomioka Dance Club (TDC) has some really fun routines posted up on their choreographer Akane Kikaku's channel. I would recommend starting with バブリーダンス (Bubbly Dance) or Can't Stop Dancing

💜💜The song is YOASOBI's たぶん (Tabun) you mentioned at the beginning. I think you will like many of their other songs! Check them out! YOASOBI is a music dual that makes music base on Sony's online novel/visual novel site. So the music all have a back story behind them.

Sorry but I had to laugh. You mentioned you have been watching Babymetal, and weren't expecting this. The three girls in Babymetal are all here - the first solo singer is Su-metal. It is one group with subgroups, and one of the sub groups is Babymetal - well they were back then, they went solo.
