I'm so addicted to this channel. Even though I disagree on some of his recommendations, I can only do so cuzza the education I have received from the likes of Skullface
"You can put your faith in Skullface" Much appreciate the fast turn around with part 2!
Woke up. Went on KZread. Watch this video. Started the day right.
It ain’t Saturday morning without a little Skullface to start the weekend off right... thank you for all your hard work and supplying us with such great content! Can’t wait to see the skullfest footage
Mastermind is the way to go for Sky Lynx. It's basically perfect.
MMC's Arcee (Azalea) really deserved a mention. Other than that, good stuff.
Could you do something like this for sub groups like wreckers, idw representations, the lost light crew, etc
Yet another perfect video. We really needed this two part video. It really gives us a great way to compare carefully each character. Thank you soo much for all of your work that went into this two part video.
Basically FansToys the list. Managed to find a Galvatron/Sovereign for retail on eBay last night and nabbed a rerelease of MP-09 to have the two locked in an eternal struggle on the shelf. Some of the characters I think are way too underutilized to really deserve a place on my shelf though. Tailgate might because I had the original G1 toy as a kid so he holds some nostalgia to me, but Outback wasn't really in any episodes to speak of (just 3 according to the wiki).
As someone who only collects only a few Transformers, this and the other lies have been most helpful. This also means I don’t know all company names and figure names to heart so bare with me. I do have a few wants for the next one tho. I know this list was to showcase all the figures you thought were the best, but I think it would have been nice to include all 3rd party figures on the market that represent G1 or could fill that role and then showcase the best one. For example, I noticed you didn’t have anything for Sky Lynx, but I’ve seen that 3rd party figure a bit , but don’t know much about it. I’m just a guy who likes to see his options so when I notice not all options are shown (even ones you may not like) it just rubs me the wrong way, but hey that’s how I roll not you. Again the list was very nice to see.
there is a Masterpiece Sandstorm out there that looks really good. It's real pain to transform but it exists.
Great video! I collect only season 1 and 2 and movie characters. Idk about alot of other collectors, but if i have no closeness or familiarity with the character i don't collect him or her. Which gets into the discussion of are a completist or not.
It might seem weird to some people, but I'm dividing up my collecting efforts of the various seasons into separate scales. I've done MP scale for Season 1 through the '86 movie, and that's nearly complete. I've done CHUG-ish scale so far for the Japanese continuity, mainly because it fits with MP Star Saber, KFC Simba and TFC Hades. I haven't acquired any Season 3 or 4 figures yet (aside from the movie-bots), but I'm thinking of going Legends scale for them so they'll look good with the Hasbro city-bots (and because I'm running out of room for MP scale figures!). At least, that's the plan...
Man, I'm doing pretty good; I'm in 100% agreement with each pick with Bobby. The only part might disagree is that I do think Toyworld Shinebug is a great Goldbug and MMC Magna/Inventa is a great Sky Lynx.
Excellent video as always Mr Skullface. Have loved both parts. Also I enjoyed the recent crib video, will check out the other ones in the playlist. And yes please to a G1 Japanese checklist.
With fans toys not throwing their hat in the ring for Optimus, Megatron and especially the seekers I think they could pull enough in to cover some of the more obscure bots in to coincide with those releases. I could be wrong but I still think they have plenty of room to make money that could help with that kind of thing. Damn near every release that have the pre-orders sell out so I'm hopeful they up production a little to capitalize on these things and it will help get the funding that need to complete the g1 series
Great info I’m pretty new to the masterpiece collecting and this will help out a lot. Wish a 3rd party would tackle a Unicron
I am ready for you to XTB Dead End and dragstrip that are dropping now.
Love my Metroplex. Have him displayed against devastator and a few other combiners.
Yes! Come to San Diego! I have my entire collection in ziplock bags and tubs right now. We can sit on the floor and go through them all one by one. LOL. Kidding.
Excellent, thanks for taking the time.
So the pass couple of videos I noticed a trend. My 7 month old son loves the intro. When I try to play the rest of the video, I can't cause he gets upset. So when we wake up the first thing he does is look for my phone to see if Uncle Skully posted a new video. LOL. But my collection is almost like yours. just missing a few things. Thanks for your insight like always.
Thanks for the vid! Both vids outline exactly the figures that I chose for my collection including the non transforming Skorps.. ordered Siege Six Gun though instead of the 3rd party offerings. Also, Hasbro Unicron and Primus are in the collection too, with the same scale issue as the city bots only amplified X100. Finally, you forgot to mention the Hasbro repaint of Bumblebee as GoldBug, I've got him and he's probably as good an option for that character that we're going to get.
Very interesting video, thank you. Oh and of you make it to SDCC I'd be happy to buy you a drink, my krib is not good enough to be filmed but I'd happily whip up a nice meal for the family, lol.
I would like to see a video like these about the legends and legends xl scaled figures, I'm of the opinion that for some of those it's better to pick the xl and for others the small ones.
For all the manufacturer's that watch this channel and the associated comments to get a sense of the community, PLEASE fill these season 3&4 holes. If you think things are tailoring off its b/c you aren't addressing the need here, not b/c the community has gotten less passionate.
Another great video! Looking at the Japenese continuity would be really cool.
Great video. Love my FT Koot.
Great video as always. Would you consider doing a recommendation video on the other toy lines you collect? (Hot Toys, etc.)
And yes for the Japanese seasons!
I know how much you love that Unique Toys Sandstorm mack.....
great video thank you keep it up!
That X-transbots Dr. Egg is priced pretty ridiculously.
I picked up Utopia over generation Metroplex. A much better looking representation of the figure, but if scale was a big thing for me I agree he's not as imposing height-wise as gen Metro.
For a (pretty much) complete list of official and third party masterpiece figures, check out the MP guide on the TFW2005 forums: www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/the-masterpiece-character-guide-or-do-they-have-an-mp-yet-and-what-substitutes.1106283/ I try to update it regularly
Personally I'm very happy with my Hasbro city bots
I think there was an option for Overkill and Slugfest (Durden and Barney?...) but they weren't very 'MP'. If I could've found them at a decent price, I'd've bought them and called that box checked. Because it was more of an unknown 3P, none of the UK e-tailers stocked them and they were a bit too spendy on ebay for what they were. I really think Final Victory could be part of the conversation. I've decided to give Fanstoys a go for Brawn and Warpath (and already have Huff) so haven't, in the end, picked up the FV set. But I do find it very tempting. Averaging £35 for an MP sized minibot with slightly simplified CHUG hands for season 3 characters that people tend to care less about makes sense. If they dropped a preorder for an Outback and Pipes based on their Brawn and Huffer, I'd definitely buy. The only season 3 characters I have are the Hasbro Rodimus (who I bought more for patronage of the UK TRU MP releases than it actually being good but I was excited about it being a jizaitoys design) and, just recently, KFC Crash Hog. It's so very good in some ways and so very bad in others. Some joints way too tight, some way too loose, some flimsy; massive partsforming in the spikes, wheels, front forks, front fork connecting pegs, etc... whether you like partsforming or not, being confronted by a barrage of small parts to install made me put it to one side and open Newage Shockwave, instead. The transformation is fiddly and a part fell off (the black detail plates in his armpits are too big for the cavity they fill - this also leads to gapping in his shoulders - perhaps because I bought the reissue and the mould has seen a lot of use?). The use of diecast and the posebility in the fingers are both completely gratuitous. It's the only TF:TM era 3P product I've thought was a good enough representation of the character that I wanted to own it - so credit where credit's due, KFC have beaten out DX9, Fanstoys, Unique Toys, X-trans, etc... - but I wouldn't recommend it to a friend.
I wouldn't mind seeing the Japanese continuity figures. I have very little exposure to them, so simple having their names along side of images would be nice. (Even though that's not the point)
Also, Bobby if you ever find yourself in or near San Diego would love to host you (and your family if needed) for a DMH video.
Power master optimus prime is one of my favorite figures for sentimental reasons. I'd love to know your choice on that one.
Nice!
Hey Bobby what about the Maketoys Citybots?
Is that a G1 reissue Optimus with trailer? Did you ever talk about that? lol

Melvin Arends I agree.
What about a Unicron? Haha
Honestly I collect whatever tf I think looks cool lmao
Myrtle Beach is getting sketchy. If you get tired of it check out Wilmington for something very similar. It’s undergoing both a crazy expansion and a renaissance at the same time. Also, this video makes me very sad. I’m one of those that would gladly shell out for well done representations of most of those missing season 3 and 4 figures.
The Monsterbots weren't in season 4.

They were in headmasters which is season 4 continuing in Japanese continuity
No MP ARCEE 4 U?
That E.T. is super disturbing.
Can I shout out the TFC Seacons?
If you are ever in the holy Land....
Oh Bobby, Bobby. Mr. Skullface, you contradict yourself Sir. You say the takra Version Of Rodmis is the one to choose, but say yourself the DX9 Carry still on your shelf? That rodmis is closer to Mp-01 and Mp-02 than any of the modern MPs, and far, far away from the Fantastic Beast Wars Mps. I think you neglect many things. You praise slammer from Hasbro metroplex whom is a Legends size figure in a MP discussion but don’t even Mention any of MakeToys city bots? Also I think there is another issue at play: There are some characters that only one 3p company or 2 have made. For explain UT and KFC have both made octane figure, neither of them I like. My point is, even though I do not like those figures, I still consider them MPS. UT is the only 3p that has made the Terricons, TFC only 3p to make the Seaicons. MMC has the defacto Predicons however; Zeta’s set is coming, will it be better? I just think you ignored figures, and past them off for not being there. My 2 cents. Feeeeeeeeeeeeet!
Seasons 3 & 4 are definitely filled with mostly forgettable characters.
You know every time you say "The g1 well is running dry" I want to quit collecting because I only have 48 and it make me feel like I will never get the figures I want. :(
Fanstoys Hot Rod is boring looking. Hasbros MP 9 is better. for Rodimus Takara is good, But Carry is so damn amazing. Still like Uniquetoys Allen for Springer. he looks like he stepped through the TV screen
Speaking for myself, I have zero interest in the Japanese continuity. A comicbook focused collection... maybe

I agree with Keith, a Marvel comics and IDW G1 continuity should be good enough. Marvel covers the rest of the G1 toy cast IDW adds new characters to G1 which are popular.
22 mins up and already 5 comments? Oh well, gone are the days when I will be the first person to comment on the fact I am the first person to comment on the first person's comment. Lol.
Look forward to any future Japanese transformers video. Great video !This actually helped me as I wasn't aware of Snapdragon/Apeface having figures.
