Very helpful tips on using color and value in choosing fabrics for blocks, thank you! I always appreciate it when designers discuss using color and value for different effects. Too often quilters pick a fabric simply because it's pretty or their favorite color but don't consider that fabric as an integral part of the overall design. I like how you used the pretty fabric a starting point, but showed how you can go way beyond that. Bravo!

Just a heads up that I called the block that I held up at the end, the Acadia block when it was the Everglades block.
