When you were humming that song “Thank you Lord for your blessings on me”, my mother-in-law whose in heaven now always sang that in church and I could see her clear as day as you were humming,! You are always such a dear blessing, Val! And your story of the Nurse saying, in your trials, it’s not a bad life. It’s just a bad day, is so great! One of my favorites things when people ask me how I am is to say that I’m blessed among thorns! Meaning, no matter what trials on facing, I have many blessings to count and there’s always someone who has it worse! And I remind myself and others that Jesus said to count our trials as joy and that they produce character which produces endurance, which produces hope! And he never lies! He is our joy! And so in my health issues, there ain’t nothing gonna steal my joy! Thank you for sharing your beautiful life and words of wisdom and recipes and tips with us! I just love you and sweet Hunter! My ancestors settled in the Midwest in the late 1800’s from Norway and Sweden My grandma would make a lot of Scandinavian deserts like lefsa made with potatoes 🥔 She would also make cakes with chocolate icing that were scrumptious 😋 My ancestors did not have an easy life , but they had a good life because of faith ❤️

My husband would love that! He loves chocolate cake!

Yummy Val Darlin'!!! Mmm! I was nawty...again. While SH was yakkin' away to the guests...I licked the cake mix off the beater and licked the dish and bowl squeaky clean! 😁🤭😉🤫😋 Yum! 😛

My aunt used to make some old fashioned chocolate icing it looked like this . I am hoping when I make this that the icing is what I been looking for. That looks so good !
