Give the gift of homemade chocolate covered strawberries this year to that special someone in your life. Chocolate and strawberries with a glass of champagne or sparkling wine make for a romantic valentine's evening surprise. These can be made with very little effort and regardless of how well they look.... they were homemade and that is priceless.

Serves - varies.
Ingredients:
Fresh Strawberries
1 cup Chocolate chips/disks/broken up bars (milk or dark chocolate will work)
1 tbs butter
Optional:
1/4 cup White Chocolate
Chopped nuts
Directions:
1. Rinse and dry your strawberries
2. Place the chocolate and butter in a glass bowl over a small saucepan with 1-2" water and bring it to a boil.
3. As the chocolate begins to melt, stir regularly until it's smooth
4. Gently grab the strawberry by the stem then dip and roll it in the melted chocolate to completely coat it and set it on a wax paper lined baking sheet or dish.
5. Coat them with nuts or decorations of your choosing if you'd like before the chocolate hardens.
6. Chill in the refrigerator for up to an hour to give the chocolate time to set up
7. Melt the white chocolate and add to ziplock with a snipped corner or piping bag and add stripes, hearts or the pattern of your choosing.
8. Once complete, allow them another hour to set up in the refrigerator.
9. They should keep refrigerated for 2-3 days
Alternative chocolate melting instructions:
1. Place the chocolate and butter in a glass bowl and place in the microwave for 30 seconds and then stir.
2. repeat this in 15 second increments until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
*Notes*
- I used chopped walnuts, but pecans, almonds and even heath pieces would be good.
