funny how no matter how many times I hear Andrew's voice it still gives me chills. Mother Love Bone took over the world, the world just never knew until after they were gone. The people who arose in the pain and absence of their friend and fellow musician live on and keep on going. Can't start a fire without no spark

It was february and cold south of BOSTON.I miss the girl loved back then..the friends I thought I would have Forever.I am now divorced and find strength listening to this album....and how it was better to have loved and LOST. But I carry on with sweet memories😊

Rather forgettable movie, but what a fantastic soundtrack! I remember playing this in 1993 while pulling out of my driveway with a packed-full car, headed to college as a freshman. The early-mid 90’s were among the most formative years of my life-I’m so glad I had such great music to go with it. The 80’s and 90’s really were a great time to come of age, and I’m proud to be a part of Gen X. 💜

"Shine" didn't come out until 1989... The band that would be "Mother Love Bone" didn't get together until 1987, under the moniker "Lords Of The Wasteland", and "Apple" came out in July 1990, and didn't have "Chloe Dancer" on it, only "Crown Of Thorns".

It just sucked how heroine took over so many musicians back then. I was a Longhairs’s singer of little prominence. I had that stuff hover around a small select few of some friends of friends. I had several opportunities to experiment with it. But I took the words of several who’d been on it never to start. I was a partier who crossed some lines. But I was actually afraid to even consider messing around with that stuff. So sad that others didn’t heed the warnings.

You changed more that the world Andy , you changed an old man's heart! I miss Chloe I miss us I still AM because of mine . ✌️

I got to work as a stage hand for the last several gigs and was looking forward to being on the crew for their big tour that was to be announced.... opening for GnR (the biggest band on the planet at the time)... it would have changed the world, Landrew did change the world for everyone he met. You could feel it when he walked into a crowded room well before you could see him. I'm not making this up, truly one of the most amazing humans I've met to date.

When i see Andy talk to the camera it just breaks my heart!!! The sweetness of his soul is heard in that voice!!

And yes you did.. For one split second. You took over the world. So miss you..

this song always gives me goosebumps and makes me feel all choked up and stuff, love it.

This song is timeless and I'm so glad that Andy achieved something like that so young and before he passed. It's also a testament to his vocal talent being amazing it's really hard song to sing. Watching Eddie from pj sing it you can see he struggles to match Andy's pitch and it's a strain. But years later people are still discovering this song and loving it. It's a song that everyone can love it's beauty makes it timeless.

Completely agree, his range and soulful talent are really in evidence here - also the tight, fluid, funky rhythm section of the band. Greg Gilmore added so much as a drummer to the band, he and Jeff Ament were able to increase the dynamics and syncopated flow of the songs all over the album (also notable on "Heartshine" and "Mr Danny Boy"), The sonic space feels big and colourful on most of their songs, never flat or overly compressed.

2020 listen to this timeless song gives chill to da bone... Rip andrew

I seen MLB in 89 a small venue in Kent WA. I'll never forget that time in my life. I even high-five Andy as he came off stage. They grew up in the 70's listening to all kind of crap..that's why it sounds like this. Led Zeppelin was a band that influenced most of hard-rock bands starting in the late 80's. Ofc after that piano/guitar symbiosis bullshit in the early 80's. Long Live rock & Roll

Happy Birthday Andrew! Gone but never forgotten!

I love this song- it was the first tune in my tribute to Layne Staley for his anniv this year- I honored Andy and Kurt right along side him- Andy was a hell of a great frontman- so much passion and he and Layne had so much in common too.

I woke up with this song in my head the other day and its been with me since. Kinda strange. What a very talanted band from top to bottom. Andrew Wood will be missed by many lets make sure he and Mother Love Bone is discovered by many.

I’m 48 and my only regret is not having pushed myself to greater experiences. I intend to remedy that.

I thought is was appropriate you open with this one girl- you really loved when I posted it for Layne tribute. I remember how much you talked about missing Andy sweet voice. Now I am sure youre kicking it up there with him. I must confess sweetie I didn’t even Mother Love Bone until a good friend of mine played this song for me and then I had to hear this album. When I hear it now, I think of you- I miss you girl- every day , 10 pm comes and goes and I know that was our time. Thank you for being my shoulder to cry on sweetie. Now that you are up there instead of down here, I know you can always be there when I need you- always-Annie.

I fell in love with this music when I first heard it in the 90s. It touched my heart and my soul it keeps on. Thank you Andrew Wood for bringing such beauty into our world with your music.

Shot lots of heroin listening to this with a dear friend who's dying of cancer now who I'm going to miss deeply. I know its probably wrong to bring up the drug element but we spent lots of time together in a room that thankfully we both recovered from and the memory's are actually good believe it or not, not all...but a lot of'em. I know drugs are bad but some of the most quality times I've spent with friends were gettin high...Sorry. Nothing to do with Landrew, just the song conjures up those memory's..PEACE. AND LOVE ROCK

Love this live MLB performance; it is heart wrenching. Andy was a pure, true, compassionate man who knew his destiny. Something tragic happened between Zana and Landrew which cut deep into his soul.It was "a dark night of his soul" and he could not fathom what had been said to him .He was an "all in" or nothing else will do. Unrequited love in the purest sense played out for the whole world to see.If you love someone as sensitive and beautiful as Andy Wood choose your words carefully because you can destroy the most precious person you could ever love. RIP sweet love.

30 years as of recent now...

I don't know how I stumbled upon this. Maybe heard Cornell mention them in interviews. But man, I am hooked. I can see why Andy left so much in shambles when he died. This moves me, the whole album moves me. I listen to it all the time.

It was 31 years ago that I first heard this song on the Singles soundtrack. I went out and bought the Mother Love Bone album and still listen to it regularly. All this time and nobody can match this music. Every time I hear this album, it takes me back to those days. Good times, good friends, and good memories.

We lost some of the best musicians in the world! Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley , Mike Starr, Chris Cornell, Andrew Wood, Chester Bennington, Scott Weiland and Taylor Hawking. All lost to drugs and depression. So sad. They will all truly be missed very much! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
