He had big plans and had he not died his band would've done just what he said. Cos you'd likely have no Pearl Jam and this band would've been even better imo. Wood wrote better lyrics and had a more versatile voice than Eddie.

We lost some of the best musicians in the world! Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley , Mike Starr, Chris Cornell, Andrew Wood, Chester Bennington, Scott Weiland and Taylor Hawking. All lost to drugs and depression. So sad. They will all truly be missed very much! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Those days will never be back. The fun we had then isn't the fun they have now. People with guns for example, was never an issue. Now it seems like everyone carries guns in the music scene. A parking lot shoot out wasn't a thing. Festival seating is gone. I went to USFEST 83. There's nearly 500K people that day. 100+ degree heat. I was pinned against the front wall left of center stage. I was grey from my stomach down. The paint came off the wall. We'd climb to the top of Queen Anne towers and drink Beer beer. The ones with the puzzles on the tops. We'd scrape enough money together to get 2, 1/2 racks from the store who sold us beer at 16 years old. Then sit up there watching the city go by. There are exactly zero better views in town. We used to go to Golden Gardens and hang out all night. We would skateboard at Shilshole bay parking lot at 2-3AM in the morning. Behind my van using a ski rope. We'd make new "discoveries" at Gasworks park. Hanging out on the old equipment in the covered area. Seafair Pirates actually chased kids and scared them. I could go on and on about how things were then compared to now. It's just different.

The Pony... is Horse. And he who rides the Pony must some day fall... Sliding doors moment for rock but an awful personal price to pay, not only for that briefly shining star who was Andy but everyone EVERYONE around him. I read somewhere Andy's mum [Edit: it was Andy's dad at his funeral. I misremembered the story] told Stone & Jeff to keep going (Stone, in particular, wanted to give up at this point). "You boys keep going but dont choose a junkie as your next singer". Andy was beautiful but he couldnt leave the Horse alone.. & it killed him. He who rides the Pony must some day fall 🥹
