Seeing this, I don't understand how anyone can dislike Pearl Jam or Eddie Vedder. Eddie never even met Andy Wood yet he delivers the finest rendition of this song with respects to Andy.

Being a very intelligent person himself I'm sure Vedder not only knows this but has thought about it many, many times throughout his long career with PJ. Ed paying his respects to Andy with this beautiful song is a mark of deference to a man Ed never knew personally and yet owes his entire professional career too.

Someone doesn't like them! It's probably the Seattle city council because Eddie and PJ make them look bad for doing more for Seattle than they do.

You can tell Ed fully feeling Andy Wood when he sings this. It's just so heartwarming and emotionally beautiful.

Andrew’s was the kind of life that moves on, but he left something beautiful and lasting. Eddie channeled that perfectly here.

Eddie did an absolutely beautiful job singing this song!! Eddie's has so much respect for his band mates Jeff and Stone, they wouldn't of let Eddie sings this if they didn't think Eddie handle it but he did, a wonderful job!! RIP Andrew Wood 😇💝🌹thank you for sharing this awesome video 😊💓🤘✌️

bucketheadstech I was at this show...granted it’s not the biggest arena in the world but during the first couple songs the band was looking at each other noticing the crowd then talked about it all night. They started pulling shit out like this and “ain’t talking about love” cuz they dug the crowd so much

Yeah, Andy could go higher for sure, but I would have loved to have heard Ed sing this in his 1992 voice. Either way it’s fucking what life is.

You can just tell that he is feeling the song, the whole band is with it.

I am immediately teary eyed from the first notes of the piano. This is the proper mood for this song, in my opinion.

Freakin' awesome. Especially after finally seeing Pearl Jam Twenty just three nights ago. This is truly the icing on the cake after that. RIP Andrew Wood.

The song is one of the most beautiful ever. Never ages. Eddie singing it is paying respect to his roots. Who would not want Eddie Vedder to sing this song?

Andy would surely say that Eddie could resurrect the most tender love vibrations of his incredible songs. It feels like Andy is actually present in his authentic signature style. This is metaphysical transformation at its best. Something about the way he moves when singing the masterpieces of the late great Landrew. Young people get a taste of what real music sounds like which is a rarity in the end times. Literally this time I see the "phoenix rising from the ashes" in all of its splendour.Thank you Eddie for this momentous performance.

Without Andy we have no Pearl Jam no sound garden no grunge it’s so weird hard to comprehend... rip all who’ve gone before us....

Literally in tears... Imagine had Andy not passed we would've never had Pearl Jam... Couldn't imagine my life without them as part of the soundtrack.

how wonderful and how tragic it is all are connected.Green river, Mother love bone, pearl Jam, temple of the dog, soundgarden, mad season Alice in chains and so on. They’ve faced most unbearable suffering in life. Loosing their band mates through out the journey! one after another that they see as their brothers. they escape all the distress with their wonderful music.

when I was in my 20s I drifted around and behind a beer store in ogden Utah a dude played this on his "Walkman" with little speakers I was like dude play that again and he did and I thought "I'm gonna be ok" And I'm 47 now and "kinda" ok lol cool tune man lifes a fun adventure and I gotta !!!! feel that way

Life works in mysterious ways. As a 15 year old kid I got into Pearl Jam and then quickly got out about 17/18 around Vitalogy days, just lost interest. In 2006 got interest in the "Avocado" album and knew nothing about MLB except only in passing. Somehow picked up on them after watching the Say Hello to Heaven video, which I had known about since high school in the early 90's but didn't make the connection. Glad I found MLB, great band, even if it was extremely short lived.

I always preferred MLB over their reincarnation into Pearl Jam but it's such a damn shame what happened with Andrew Wood, I love Mother Love Bone so much, their music helped me in a time when I was lost and gone, man if he would've lived, they would've gone far and made more beautiful albums but we're lucky to have Apple, and Malfunkshun respectively.

The first time they played this live(that I know of) was a Vegas show back in October 2000. They were celebrating 10 years together as a band. They played the Chloe Dancer intro, but he didn't sing any of it, before it went into Crown of Thorns. Just look up "Crown of Thorns 2000" and there will be a few options. Enjoy. :-)

Just finished watching the same identical concert piece from Eddie and Pearl Jam in 2011. Eddie is perfect singing both songs and I do not believe anyone else could have pulled it off and perform both songs that resembles the style and vocal rendition of Andy and Mother Love Bone. It definately feels to me that Andy was there to help Eddie sing both songs to perfection.

EV paid beautiful to Homage to Andy&MLB more than once with his intense renditions; Can't hate the man and Mike Mccready is awesome as always.

We must preserve Eddie Vedder with all of our being.

Katherine Farris-Stanley it's about Xana going to strip to support her and Andy on the west side of Seattle . Her stage name for an hour was Chloe,until she realized it just wasn't her cup of tea. Has nothing to do with the French Quarter or NOLA at all I think he used this reference for the red light district pretense.

the people i went to school with would never know this song i grew up listening to malfunkshun and the rest of Seattles finest bands that wrote songs with meaning behind them, songs you could relate to, that didn't look past the bad in the world but presented the bad with the good not for the money but simply for the music it seems like people don't want to hear the truth on the radio anymore just songs about money and never ending happiness which i feel like blinds people from their actual feelings.

Eddy is good BUT Andrew Wood is the master & creator of this song & kinda father of GRUNGE movement !!!! We may have lost him in 1990 but his music still lingers on and gets played by new masters of game.
