    Chloe learnt to play the piano at 2.5-years-old and started playing the violin at 4-years-old. Her mother, who is a music educator, shared that she initially exposed her daughter to music so that she can discover beauty in life. Chloe practices the violin for 5 hours every day. While her parents see her musical talent, they were surprised by her obsession with music at such a tender age.

    That’s what I mean when I say each child prodigy is actually born with a gift, they feel differently about music, then they feel the attraction to a certain instrument, she was drawn to music at a tender age and she was taught piano but she chose violin, so interesting and intriguing and frankly a bit intimidating to watch such a determined child.

    At a recent concert I attended, the audience clapped between movements. Yet Chloe sweetly acknowledged albeit awkwardly. So humble and kindhearted. Following that she cleverly avoided that situation by her body language. Besides delivering an excellent breathtaking performance, she showed her beautiful human side at only 17. Loud applause too for her parents, teachers and whoever has had a hand in her nurturing . 🥳

    Unfortunately, the world is full of IDIOTS that have no appreciation for anything that is GOOD. The little darling is probably only about 8 or 9 years old, but has achieved a mastery of her violin. Note that she is using a "full size" adult violin. Not even a 3/4 or 1/2 size. She is also beaming with a beautiful smile while playing. May God bless and protect her.

You are right, I have absolutely loved beautiful music since as far back as I can remember. But yes, I especially love to see young musicians, either singers or instrumentalists. I sort of have a bucket list of young artists I would love to see perform live in the not too distant future, as and when I can. Towards that end, I have been privileged to attend performances by both Alma Deutscher - her European premiere of Cinderella in Vienna, and her piano concerto also in Vienna - and also Leia Zhu in Milan in the last year and a half or so. Thank you for the link here too, which is very eye opening, and I agree there are shades of Alma there, and she is certainly very talented. I have indeed already seen several of her videos on the Annelies page. As for Chloe, she is incredible, and I was so happy to see her and Christian win the Menuhin Competition between them.

    I've heard this cadenza before....Perlman?? anyway, what I wanted to say was: Chloe is obviously an old soul trapped in a child's body, which is why sometimes her movements tend to look a tiny bit awaked - her advanced soul having a tiny bit of trouble controlling the awkward, as yet not fully-developed young, tender body - I'm convinced of it. Mozart is my favourite composer and Chloe makes it look like she's here to enjoy music, not compete. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video!!

  • @jackburgess8579

    @jackburgess8579

    3 жыл бұрын

    The cadenza is by Joachim. You are right that Chloe's movements are a little awkward in this performance. But there is a simple explanation: she is playing with an orchestra on stage for the first time in her life and she is a little nervous! In subsequent performances her on stage movements are wonderfully natural. This is manifest in her performances at the Menuhin Competition only six months later, but since Mozart is your favourite composer I link you to the performance of Mozart's violin concerto #2 that she gave last autumn with the SSO. Though she was still only 13, it is one of the greatest performances of a Mozart violin concerto _ever_ . If you don't know it, it will transport you to heaven! kzread.info/dash/bejne/gqV7s7aeqsvSj6Q.html

    I agree; she is an old soul. She has the stance of a seasoned artist; she doesn’t rush the music. She lets it sing! Usually soloists (I’m including pianists) miss on interpretation and performing Mozart’s works. This is a very grounded performance with the right instrument and an artist that can understand the greatness of Mozart as a composer. He was prolific and although his compositions have his identity, he wrote immensely that each work goes further than the previous. Mozart takes us on his journey through a massive library of music considering his age of demise. Brava to this young artist, Chloe 👏👏👏

    Plays it from memory with a smile in her face bringing joy to mere mortals. The very hand of God reaching out to us. Meanwhile in USA we are still dealing with Common Core Math...SMH. Teach your children well thru the joy of music, real music such as this masterpiece. Take the cell phones away, specially those using Tik Tok. Wake up!

    I love how everyone in the orchestra smiled encouragingly when she entered the stage. Some of them probably have kids of the same age and knew that despite her talent, Chloe was still a little girl who was going to do something even most adult violinists would never dare to do. But as soon as she started to play her first note, she became not only one of them but their leader. And sometimes their faces just dropped like "damn, here goes my self esteem" :D

Gracias.

    To put this delightful performance in perspective, this was the first time that Chloe had performed on stage with an orchestra, and the first time that she had performed this piece. Whether or not she was nervous, it is clear that she was nowhere near as relaxed as she was to be four months later on the magical occasion of her performance in the final of the Menuhin Competition - her second time on stage with an orchestra(!) - where she radiated well-being and enchanted orchestra, audience and jurors alike. In the two years that followed this performance of Mozart]s violin conerto #4 in Zhuhai, she was to commit to and/or consolidate in memory and perform at the Menuhin Competition and elsewhere, chamber works by Bach, Beethoven, Choi, Hubay, Kreisler, Piazzolla, Sarasate, Svendsen, and Wieniawski (both the Etude Caprice #2 and the Variations on an Original Theme), and orchestral works that included not only Massenet's "Meditation" and Piazzolla's "Otoño Porteño," but violin concertos by Bach (for two violins), Mendelssohn, and Vivaldi (both "Winter" and the concerto for four violins), and a further violin concerto by Mozart (#1). Apart from the latter, all these performances are freely available on YT (some on her channel). Without exception they are magnificent and they constitute a formidable body of work that is a treasure trove for music lovers and an inexhaustible source of pleasure and admiration.
