She is the sweetest of all female singers. Her voice is incomparable.

Too awesome. Went back to listen to original version by Mehendi Hasan sung in 1967. That was too awesome. Though Mehendi ji is a legend, but personally I liked Chitra's version a shade more. Its just a personal view. It no way means that Chitra ji is better than Mehendi Sahab. Obviously, you cannot compare her with Mehendi ji. Even Chitra would agree. And I am sure even she looks upto him as a legend and all time great. But in this rendition, her effortless singing justs leaves you clean bowled. Salute you Chitra ji. What a beautiful composition

Not at all! You are showing dishonesty! She doesn't by any means even look slightly near to the original rendered by ustaad Mehdi Hasan sahab! However her effort is worth of her talent and we adore it!

I totally agree... But in contrast to ur opinion, i needed a female version more than the original one... But then one day youtube recommended me this video and i ve felt like my need was fulfilled... and i ve preferred this version over hassan sahab's version... Although anyone's opinion can differ but she also was a legend and her comparison with hassan sahab is totally uncalled for and even hassan sahab himself wouldn't want that, let alone chitra ji... This version has a different accent, higher pitch, slower pace, more effortless singing and a more calming tone... Hence this hits the spot...

I became an ardent fan of ChitraSing when I first attended her concert in the early80s in BIRMINGHAM UK. She really has a special mastery of vocal nuances and she is always at her best.

The legend singer MEHDI.HASSEN SAHEB rendered the ghazal in his unique way. Chiyra Sing d amazingly did real justice in vocally translating the lyrics of this composition in its appropriate raag as HassanSaheb did... Hats off to both of them...
