His image is sky high. That’s why the problem. But thanks to the director, producer and mega star for giving these movies. As a mentally disturbed person chiru performance was awesome.

If our fans were not as mad as they are, Chiranjeevi would've been celebrated much more as an actor, not just as a star. Mohanlal, Mammootty, Kamal Hassan and even Amitab Bachan had that freedom. They could experiment without being afraid of fan reception or reaction, but unfortunately Chiranjeevi did not have that. Legendary director K.Balachander once said that Chiranjeevi was a mix of both Kamal Hassan and Rajinikanth. He has the most expressive eyes of any actor he had ever worked with or even seen.

There is a general problem with all the telugu directors and film makers is they take all liberty when it comes to hindu culture and customs. whereas they never 'cross the limits' as far as islam and christianity are concerned. K viswanath also took this 'unwanted' freedom. For example, in swatimutyam, siviah takes liberty to use mangalasutra which is prepared for sri seetharama kalyanam but the same siviah follows all the etiquett to be followed in a church when he visits. There are so many scenes where Viswanath took this 'unwanted' liberty in all his movies.

Because they are ours and hence we are entitled to the freedom of asking questions about problematic customs or practices. There were many films made about casteism and untouchability which were very much a part of our religion. But they had to be questioned because they are inhumane practices. The scene in Apadbandhavudu is more philosophical than religious. It is about a moral dilemma of Chiru's character, after losing his father figure and mentor and asks questions about why Shiva took away Jandhyala's character. He gets the answer from Baba's character. That's the beauty of hinduism, you can be an idol worshipper or a follower of Brahma tatva. You could follow the dvaita or the advaita. You could be a shaiva or a vaishnava and you are still a hindu. No other religion in the world gives you the freedom of choice in worship. I think those scenes were an extension to the belief that you could defy established customs and practices if your actions help save people's lives or enriched them in someway. K.Vishwanath sir had done more to promote and celebrate our culture and religion than any other major filmmaker.

@@jkjkjkjkjk537 If one really feels 'they are ours' should give respect to them and try to understand them inright perspective. From your comment it is very clear you have noot made any effort to understand different aspects of hinduism. Just questioning is not good; it is your responsibility to know what is what. First try to do that. As far as Viswanath is concerned, there is no doubt he tried his level best to bring out great aspects of hinduism but at the same time he also took 'undue and unwarranted liberty' as far as hinduism is concerned. For example, in his movie 'subhalekha' he criticised dowry system in it's present form and practice but I am sure, he don't know or even tried to know the roots of this present system which is not the same. If you are ready to know the facts about dowry system and backdrop of it, go thru the book title ' dowry murder' written by Veena Oldenburg.

@@sivanathkhandavalli If someone from our family is problematic, we try to reform and change them first. These practices and customs are like that in my opinion. Perspectives change over time but humans are constant. The reason behind dowry might be genuinely good but as far as i'm concerned, if it kills our innate humanity and gives us the right to behave in a certain way which harms our fellow citizens, then we don't need it any more. What good are customs and rituals if they don't teach us to respect and treat fellow humans as equals. I don't need to read a book by an author to know that my pregnant aunt was burned alive for dowry. I'm one of the victims of the dowry system in it's present form and Subhalekha hit me right where it needed to. It was as if I was seeing my own family on screen, the faces were different but the characters were the same. Film is a powerful media and if used in the right way, can make people think about their actions. If even one person stops and thinks after watching films like those, someone else's aunt or sister would be saved and that's all that matters to me.

@@jkjkjkjkjk537 problem with people like you is that they feel that they are the 'only' persons who will give importance to 'humanity'. I have never said dowry is good or bad. What I said is over a period of time things will turn out to be either relevant or irrelevant ( not good or bad). One should have eagerness to know about certain thing before calling it as 'inhuman'. For this purpose of looking back at dowry system, I have prescribed a book but you have not said a single word about it or your readiness to go thru that and just giving 'lecture about humanity'. This is just ridiculous.

@@sivanathkhandavalli Did you not read what I wrote?? My aunt was literally burned alive and she was pregnant at that time. All because of some money. Why should I read about the greatness of a practice when it is that very practice that killed family of mine?? If only she had someone to stand up for her, she would have lived. My family convinced her to compromise and that these things are "common" in marriages. Look what happened. Now you tell me, is tradition more important than a life. If at all there arises a situation where i'm forced to choose between tradition or humanity, I will choose humanity every single time because I know the pain it causes otherwise. Can't really say the same about people like you because you have never really faced the consequences of these so called "great" traditions.
