@@ommsterlitz1805 I took up Nahuatl and it helped me out with Russian. I also started to read Nahuatl scripts in Cyrillic and it sped up my conjugation and pronunciation by a lot. I.e Xochtili was trimmed to сочи, Nezacoytol - незакоьётл /// неза-ко-ётл ) Now i'm thinking about learning Polish, but I feel like I should learn Polish w/ Cyrillic alphabet because it feels so natural for me now. I struggled w/ French a lot because of proncuncation, i think French needs like a Pin Yang alphabet because its so different from Portugese,Spanish and italian pronunciation. There is no rules or too many exceptions for their pronunciations.

Je vois absolument pas en quoi c'est un "tips", faudrait m'aiguiller sur ce point. Y a normalement pas de quoi en être fier, ça fait plutôt tâche au niveau de la fluidité. Le "euuu", qui , de nos jours s'est ancré en tant que réfléxe dans le language quotidien n'est pas "impréssionant", loin de là. Réduire au maximum son utilisation demeure un choix non négligeable quant à l'amélioration de l'éloquence, entres autres..

@@zycry6000 Certes mais le fait qu'elle utilise cette mauvaise habitude française montre bien qu'elle a acquis un très bon niveau. Maintenant elle doit améliorer le même point sur lequel nous-mêmes natifs devont travailler. Elle aurait pu utiliser l'équivalent Chinois ou Anglais.

D'ailleurs vaut mieux, car le filler word en chinois mandarin "那个" (nàge) peut être dangereux dans certaines situations :P (Je te laisse aller écouter la prononciation de "那个" sur un traducteur ou autre :D)

I'm a native Portuguese and I've only really learned English. I can speak a bit of french, italian and japanese - just enough to have realized this: it's just so nice to understand other languages. Here in Portugal we don't get movies/TV dubbing pretty much never - it's all subtitles. But you know what, even when I was a kid that made an impact on me. I was fortunate enough to watch movies made in different countries and learned to realize the value of their different languages. Even if I didn't understand the words, the manner of speaking, the colloquialisms, the expressions, the sounds, etc etc, bring such a multitude of meanings and impacts - you just experience so much more of life by trying to understand other languages. I just wish many more people had the time/space to learn different languages and not just slave away at their jobs (like me)

you're honestly the only arabic speaking foreigner i've seen that speaks this confidently, WOW. yes arabic is very VERY hard, which makes the fact that you speak it so well so much more impressive.

She is great for sure but I have met many Chinese who speak Arabic fluently not only Fus-ha but also different dialects, such as Lebanese, Jordanian, Palestinian, Syrian, Saudi Arabian, Egyptian, Iraqi, and not just that they also speak different dialects of different cities in each of the countries I just mentioned, and if you cover their faces you would never be able to tell the guy who is speaking is non-Arab. They have no accent at all. Come to China and I will at least make you meet not less than 100 Chinese who speak Arabic like native Arab speakers, literally like native Arabs you will never ever be able to tell that they are Chinese when they speak Arabic.

@@rokkeey Well, I've read somewhere that Arabic is one of the fastest-growing foreign languages being studied at Chinese universities, and given that the quality of many Chinese universities is now rivaling that of Western universities, this hardly comes as a surprise. Still, given such difference between the two languages, that is very impressive they've reached such a level!

hi im egyptian... and you are soo right ..fun fact ..arabic is the hardest language in the world even harder than japanese or chinese or whatever and if you are not arabian and you wanna learn arabic you can speak it but not fluently ... no one can speak it fluently (if you are not arabian) even if u lived most of ur life there(in arab countries) ..it is such a hard language ..but its so nice and we love it because we know its special ... im really happy that people is trying to learn our language and didnt leave it behind..i also learnt english fluently and i love english sooo much its sooo easy to learn.. love it bye

Yea it very hard to learn German grammer (I'm from Germany and I understand it's hard for people who are learning German) cause we have so many words who means one thing and the grammer is also very hard to learn xD but you still can learn German or speak it, just my tip is to learn the grammer at the end so you can understand better ^^

@@jennymeschke6457 Learning the grammar at the end doesn’t really work. You have to know the grammar to be able to construct sentences properly.

I am learning Swedish, and my grandpa always says to me “why? So many countries speak English, and you may not even ever go to that country” and I so to him, “grandpa, learning is free. Even if I never go to Sweden, or any other countries which languages I want to learn, it is a positive, constructive use of my time. It’s something I enjoy.”

You're right. Learning extra languages is an excellent exercise for your brain: it's proven that it improves your mental capacities. Besides, it intellectually opens your mind: it offers you new horizons. Lat but not least, with a good knowledge of Swedish you can also travel to Finland (where Swedish is an official language beside Finnish) and to Denmark and Norway, whose languages are very, very close to Swedish. In short, you're not wasting your time - definitely.

@@yagi3925 Sometimes it's not worth learning a lot of languages - otherwise words may shift together. I think knowing three or two languages is enough. And if your language is very popular, then you don't have to worry about traveling.

And wether you have a popular language, learning new language(s) is proven to be quite good for brain on long term (as things like learning an instrument or skill). But if you do not want/like to it is your choice and there's nothing wrong with that.

I've been learning german since 1st grade by a lovely old woman who lived nearby a german school in my city.So my dad decided to attend some simple courses for me to learn a second language .After 1 year of learning it , I was already in second grade and i knew loads of simple words.Even phrases sometimes. He decided that it was better if I practiced german pretty often at school so he moved me to a german school and so did german became my second language . 2 years later I had to prepare for an important german exam at the end of the 4th class .I took the tes and I got one of the best scores from my class ( back then ) .Then, on 6th grade the pandemic hit on us so we obviously had no choise rather than staying in quarantine for months .So I lost interest in learning this language. Then 7th grade came around . I haven't remembered anything !! My vocabulary was previously small and I constantly forgot the articles "der,die,das" I couldn't even remember how to use them . ( I was still online schooled ) Now, I'm in 8th grade and still can't manage to say a scentence right in comparison with the old days. I tried to learn more vocabulary from class , I tried to write E-Mails and articles, similarly like an English exam . So far , I think almost 8 years have passed and I should've known this language as native speaker would do . This is literally insane.All these years of effort were screwed .And i'm not the only one in my class , all of my classmates have been making these mistakes and from now on they still continue for some reason . What should I do to recover all the unclear things i didn't understand? How do i get my vocabulary back? What should i do to fall in love with this language again? Motivation and focus ? Tricks ? Techniques? Pleaseee I need *help*!!

This is remarkable. Your French was on point. Your Arabic was very impressive: good pronunciation and a clear appreciation for verb conjugation and intonation. With Arabic, French, English and Mandarin, you have 4 of the UN's 6 official languages. There's only Russian and Spanish to go. As you have an excellent command of French, Spanish will flow easily (or with greater ease).

Not only was it very difficult to make out what she was saying; but it almost sounded like she was speaking Arabic or Pashto. The pronunciation was very poor. She does not know how to speak Farsi. In the description it said that she spoke these languages at an intermediate level, which is false. To me, it’s disrespectful to claim to speak a language and then proceed to utter complete nonsense.

it’s impressive she speaks 7 languages that are actually different. Don’t compare her to those European polyglots who speak French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese. She made it very clear she doesn’t count dialects within China. However, linguistically the distance between Cantonese to Mandarine is often said to be like English to German and definitely more than Spanish to French.

@@adamabdelhamed2524 Farsi and Arabic are directly related. They have many many similarities. Turkish was written in arabic script and later changed to make the nation more secular by disconnect with the Quran. They are related by root.

in brief: In this video, a polyglot named Zoe introduces herself and shares her journey in learning seven languages. Being Chinese by origin, she's currently living in France, pursuing a Ph.D. in Sociology. Having prior knowledge in Arabic won't help you with studying Persian, as these two languages are completely unrelated! Persian is an Indo-European language. Arabic is a Semitic language.

first of all I must say, your german is so good! after just two years! What's most impressing to me is that you can talk about different topics (and especially those that are important to you) and your own experiences in all of these languages. I think it's really important to be able to talk about things that interest you and are important in your life. This is something I e.g. want to improve with my Spanish speaking: as I've only ever learnt it in a class room and feel like I don't have enough everyday-vocabulary.

Her German is really really not so "so good", actually not at all for two years of language studies... but, as she said, she spoke more Arab than German, so it's not that big a deal.

Yes her Farsi sounds better than her Turkish.I don't know Farsi but she didn't pause as often as she was speaking Turkish.I miss my Iranian friend Samira❤from Tehran

I'm Persian too And the way she speaks is spot on but maybe if she practices getting the accent right it will sound like the real deal but there are different part of Iran that have different accents so there is a chance it's because of another Persian accent that I had never heard

so und so ;) aussprache nat. noch sehr ausbaufähig.., aber grammatik echt krass stark, satzbau usw... muß irre schwer sein bei so vielen sprachen! merkt man normal ja schon wenn ein deutscher englisch spricht, es wird einfach versucht den satz zu "übersetzen"... grammatikalisch kpl falsch ;)

Zoe. you are a genius in learning Arabic,Persian and Turkish .As I Malaysian Chinese, I cannot imagine this would blown my mind. I just want to say you inspired me as well . I'm native speaker of Malay (which is also similar to Indonesian language ) English and Cantonese . Mandarin I can listen and speak well but not able to write or read fluently . French I learn 2 years ago and Spanish 1 year plus ago and now a bit of Tagalog.I realize I may have the talent to learn some languages faster some are not .

I am SO impressed by your french. Even tho you learned it as an adult, you managed to get an amazing accent. You even sounded native for a couple sentences ! ( I'm a french native speaker from Belgium )

As a native German I can say: WOW! Only been learning for 2 years and your grammar is amazing! Regardless of a rather thick accent every German would understand you perfectly and the grammar really is the hardest part about our language. Since you got that covered pretty good you I am sure you will easily pick up the pronunciation. I recommend watching your favorite TV show in German, because we literally have a synchro to everything :D

Among other languages I speak German, French and Arabic fluently and must say I am extremely impressed by your eloquent articulation and for the most part (french and arabic) amazing pronounciation. It is true that your German is not as fine-tuned as some of the other languages you speak, but considering the circumstances under which you learned the languge I must say, you have to give yourself more credit!! mind blowing.

@@thomas.thomas Ich habe einen türkischen Freund gefragt, ihre türkische Aussprache ist ähnlich schwierig. Ihre Stärken sind Wortschatz und Grammatik, Aussprache aber ist bis auf Mandarin in allen ein wenig - das meine ich nicht böse - schlabbelig gelernt.

Languages are very fascinating and amazing tools for us to connect with many different cultures. I am a multilingual speaker myself. I speak about 9 language with various levels of fluency. I really want to learn at least 3 languages or more in each language family. I'm actually pursuing a career as a language tutor and hopefully I can get into much more later on. Anyway, I watched your Chinese vs Japanese comparison video and I was very interested in subscribing to your channel afterwards, since your points were very accurate. I am very impressed with the way you change the tune from one language into another. Great job has been put in place. My concern is when did you start learning languages? I am always passionate about languages. I speak 3 languages and I am in learning process of the fourth one.

Wow, nice. Just want to say, I'm Portuguese, I'm not even that fluent in French, but during that french segment I felt like I was listening to a french person just talking about their story in a natural way. I studied a bit of japanese and wish I can have the time to learn Mandarin as well, but I can only imagine how hard it is for a chinese person to learn all those languages. Good job and thanks for all your work and these videos.

I have a Chinese friend and I tried to teach him some basic Turkish words. He was struggling so much. I thought Chinese and Turkish are not matching well. However, I’m really impressed with your pronunciation. You doing great. Istanbul is love.

im german, im a bit of a linguist. ive been with a south korean women from 2016 to 2018. i tried learning korean, and it went really well. what ive noticed is how the structure of the shape of our skulls is super different. it was interested!! cause thats why they have easier time speaking in native language, than foreign. the shape of the mouth gives you options to different techniques using tongue, breathing. i hope you can see what i mean :)

Technically there is no such thing as Chinese as langue. However you may say Chinese languages, Which can be around 13 main different languages excluding dialects. Many Words in Chinese languages have Turkic origin or exchanged. Also names are very similar. Manchu Language especially have many Turkic origin words. Unfortunately When Han Chinese Terrorists illegally occupied China until now Most mainstream non Mandarin languages banned.

Hii, thank youu, you inspired me a lot :D! i speak german (mothertongue) and english (learningn for 4 years) fluently, i also understand some austrian dialects. i have been learning french in school for half a year, and i am teaching myself japanese, because it is such a beautiful language. my aim is to at least speak five languages fluently, i think it is so fascinating to express yourself in different languages! sadly, i am an introvert, so it is not that easy for me to talk to people :') everyone, keep up the good work!

Dein Deutsch hat mich echt beeindruckt! :) Die Aussprache bedarf noch etwas Übung, aber deine Grammatik ist schon ziemlich gut. Menschen wie du inspirieren mich, andere Sprachen zu lernen. Seit ein paar Tagen lerne ich Chinesisch und es ist von der Aussprache und Schrift sehr schwierig für mich, aber es klingt total toll, deshalb werde ich mir viel Mühe geben und vielleicht eines Tages auch mit chinesischen Freunden in ihrer Muttersprache sprechen haha

I'm impressed, I speak French & English as a Moroccan, and our dialect makes it a bit easier to speak foreign languages, but seeing a Chinese person master Arabic pronunciation is beyond impressive, not only that you speak other languages at a high level. Chapeau!

20/20 in french ! Very impressive ! C'est très rare les personnes qui ont appris le français qui ne font aucune erreur. Elle nous gratifie même d'un "très chiant" à 3:19... on peut pas faire mieux 😂

@@Marcel7592 Si on zappe les petites approximations de prononciations, j'ai noté qu'une seule faute perso, sachant que même les français font parfois des fautes on peut clairement dire qu'elle est bilingue la.

C'est dur de croire que tu n'es pas native, ton français est vraiment très bon. C'est incroyable ! En tant que française native je suis impressionné. Tu rend bien hommage à la la belle langue française !

فارسی را از خیلی لحاظ می توان لهجه ۳۳ ام عربی دانست و بدون وجود زبان عربی و تورکی یک زبان مستقل نیست Persian can be considered the 33rd dialect of Arabic in many ways, and it is not an independent language without Arabic and Turkish.

Zoe, thank you. That was impressive. My languages are, English, Hebrew, Latin, Greek...and some German and French. But because I study ancient philosophy, I need these ancient languages. Of course, indeed there's no end to improvement.

The Farsi part was fun actually because you put there a western Iranian song and used standard Iranian words but with an eastern accent like Dari Persian 😂 I really like Chinese people and Chinese history and have been learning Mandarin for 6 months.

She actually doesn't have a dari accent. Dari Persian is more hard because it's traditional Persian which many Afghans use today. She sounds pretty Iranian to me.

When you did greetings , I heard some accent and said nah she is new to the field. But when I heard you speaking them in a bigger scale then I realized you are a lot better than I thought. Good luck. I speak four of these languages too. Great to see someone with this much passion

​@@danalmariti509 Hey, Turkish is a language that ain't very complicated to learn. To be precise I found Turkish as one of the easiest language from the language I've learned until now. Anyways, I know total of 9 languages If I say they are English, Bengali, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (mandarin-cantonese), Hindi, Urdu, Turkish, Arabic, A bit of Spanish, Russian & Portuguese also (Im learning these 3 rn)

wow Zoe! I've seen your other videos where you mention you speak 7 languages but truly it is more than that. I wouldn't discredit the other Chinese languages you mentioned. I live in Canada so we do have a prominent Chinese population and it is a mix of both Cantonese and Mandarin speakers but the newer waves of immigration tend to be Mandarin speakers. they're definitely different and I think your viewers would love to hear you speak more about your mother tongues. looking forward to more content from you
