Excellent work and information. Your videos regarding this machine, I have the identical model, have helped me begin to understand my machine on a whole new level. Today I’m going to look into how I lube the ring gear and check that the small gear is on there tight. I bought two grease guns so I’m able to grease the two styles. In the process I had a fitting on the arm that shot off when I applied grease. I suspect it’s not been tapped, or it’s improperly tapped. Your oil change vid is another good idea. Waiting for Amazon to deliver. The drain plug sits right over that cross member, so when draining, it runs all over it. Please keep them coming as they will be our proper manuals.

I’ve been looking at one of these excavators, but I have not yet purchased one. If I do come across one that doesn’t have the cooling fans I plan on installing them but hooking them up through a relay that is actuated by a thermostat control. That way they can cycle on and off and not be a constant load on the battery/alternator.

So you didn't either know that you're charging circuit was dead because you haven't had a dead battery or, the charging system was working sporadically sending intermittent voltage to the regulator in surges and was keeping the battery charged enough. If that's the case I'm surprised it didn't fry the rectifier from the surges. Great video. For a second I thought I was going to be shocked with a hidden China charging system. I knew the Briggs engine probably had one on it, but I didn't know if China added their own. Cool.

@@thegarageconnection no I mean in the days or weeks prior. If it wasn't working all together you would have had a dead battery at some point I would think. Makes me think that it was sporadically charging well that faulty solder joint. Funny if it just quit that day.

Good video. And that B&S graphic from their website is very useful. Someone linked it on a TractorByNet thread about Chinese mini-excavators.. Now you know why I was concerned about your 2 80-Watt fans. Are you going to take a charge measurement now that you fixed the stator? If you have a DC clamp-on meter, it is really easy.

Always a good day when you can fix a broken part for $0. For those people who went wild and installed hundreds of watts of cooling fans, I wonder if they could install one of the higher current coils, or if they are physically larger? I've already done some logging of temperatures inside the house and determined that 40-60w of fan is enough to keep the temperature within 1 degree of ambient if that helps anyone else.

Again, thanks for the videos. I have a dumb question for you😊. I have an oil cooler coming, but I’m really tight for space. If I remove the flywheel nut, and remove the starter cup permanently, do you see any issues with it? Thanks

Not having the pull start may come to bite you in the long run, but I don’t see an issue with safety or anything like that

Great video's! I would apreciate your thoughts on this problem: I have the same machine except for the engine (Koop KD192f). I recently couldn't get it to start while motor was warm, the starter seems to turn too slow. What we checked so far: 1-the battery is ok (12,70 volts). 2-Diesel is inside the tank and motor(we see some fumes coming out the exaust while trying to start) 3-We tried to start with starter fluid, no luck 4-There is no air in the fuel pipes (loosend the nut, fuel was seeping out) 5-Air filter and oil is clean The machine has only 9 hours (!) Tomorrow I will remove the whole back and side pannels to have a better look at everything. Do you have an idea what the cause could be please? Keep up the video's and thanx!
