The first fact-to-fact meeting between USA and China in Hawaii clearly demonstrated the lack of tack of the Americans. By coming out all guns blazing claiming to be in a "position of strength" is well, a weakness in terms of diplomacy. How about Biden warned China not support Russia. The woman in red was rude was not because she didn’t know what politeness was, but because she was required to show her “toughness” in such an outrageously rude manner to China to stay in the business in the West market. This Tv show is an excellent showcase of today’s real China and America relationship. China is on the defensive stand while the US, as usual, is increasingly hostile towards China publicly. The purpose of this program was to humiliate and shut down Chinese narratives, not to invite the ambassador to have his voice heard by the audience.

But you also got to admit the ambassador is also somewhat weak in rebutting her points. It is obvious she is pushing a specific narrative. And her narrative is the war can only end by Russian capitulation. The ambassador could call out her on peddling a specific narrative. But he failed to articulate that point. I imagine the ambassador is intelligent but he is forced to play a diplomatic role. The journalist obviously sensed that weakness and constraint and when full ahead for the kill. US Media is mainly about entertainment. Nothing beats ringing jingoistic bells when it comes to entertaining a narcissistic audience.

Why are Russia and China blamed for everything that goes wrong in this planet? Is it really so bad that Russia and China exist as nation states? Chiu Yu PhD Physical Sciences, Major US University The question already answered itself. Russia and China are indeed blamed for every single thing that went wrong on Earth. Furthermore, Russia and China are being credited for nothing that went right on this Earth. Being a physical scientist, I know the probability for such a thing happening is less than one part in one trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion …. for any system imaginable. The only remote chance for this to happen is if you are at the temperature of Absolute Zero, or minus 273 degrees Celsius. Nobody knows how to cool the entire Earth to this temperature, trust me. Even Outer Space is warmer than this! Yet exactly such a picture, no less, is being paraded on western media day in and day out. So? Don’t you think you asked a great question? How about a Nobel Prize in Physics for Western Media, as they have uncovered a hitherto unknown and unobserved phenomenon of the universe, violating all known physical laws?

In contrast, the Chinese ambassador was polite, matter of fact and explained the Chinese position quite well. Inspite of the recent agreement with the US to buy LNG, Europe will continue to buy natural gas from Russia. It will take years to permanently replace Russia as a source of NG. All of Ukraine's statement vis a vis China relations have all been respectful and positive in spite of the fact that China refuses to condemn Russia. They realize China's own position and they also can see that a good relationship with China will be essential for reconstruction of their battered country. I am not sure whether or not they can count on the US to provide the $$$$$$ after the war. Weapons and guns yes, but bridges, roads and high speed rail probably not.

I have been kidded by international friends that I don't seem American because I am too logical. That saddens me more than I take it as a compliment. Old people usually have gadgets they've collected during their lives, locals typically may not be able to afford better stuff. I could go on and on, but I guess you are entitled to your opinion. One word from my side, I was thinking in a similar manner when I was poor and surrounded by poor. You need to break the cycle and start making acquaintances with people better off so that they could help you advance, rather than just sit in your mental shithole of poverty and the feeling that your life sucks and nothing can be done about it. My life turned about the moment I've started to consider roping my way out, but decided I wanna live and will do so in spite of all other people trying to get me swinging. Worst,it starts to play and fuel fire around especially on big countries like China where US found that China is threatening its position. US is going downhill sadly. Their hypocrisy is way so obvious and with more social media on different perspectives, I learnt to not just listen to one sided news. In this case,US and its Allies didn't do anything to stop the war, instead they just continue supplying weapons rather to convince or tell Russia and Ukraine that they will not accept Ukraine into Nato and stop their expansion towards East Side of Europe. That WMD lie is really a turning point for many people. To me it is the realization that even after the WMD lie was exposed, there's no apology from the US govt nor their people. The US army still occupies Iraq as a colony, mandating their government and looting from the country. This is the awakening moment for me to realize that the problem is not just with a wrong decision or a bad individual in the country, but rather the whole society (people + culture + system) with their blind self-fulfilling faith in their own way. This is very dangerous country, in a global world of 100+ countries. A declining dictator country which cannot accept 1 country 1 vote, nor any other way to mediate a common ground with other powers. "Just listen to me and do it" is not going to work any more.

@@williamy45 Exactly,no condemnation or sanctions against them and worse, they can just act like nothing happened. And they are the ones who uses Air raid right from the start and killed so many innocents! UN didn't approved of the attack and also their bombings of Yugoslavia. The double standard and hypocrisy is for everyone to see. Where's the human rights for normal Russian citizens who is being sanctioned for being Russians as they are not the ones who called for wars? Yes,punish the perpetrators but not the ordinary citizens. Anyway, all these stupid sanctions affects all normal citizens across the world, but not on politicians personally. Trust me,US is getting more hates than likes for their doings in recent times.

Same here. I'm in my mid 30s now so 9/11 and the ensuing war on Iraq were the first major international incidents that got my attention. I was very pro US - how could you not be? They're the self-professed champions of human rights and freedom of speech (hollow words) after all! The non-existent WMD were a real eye opener. At the end of the day, the US is just a failing empire that's bent on maintaining its hegemony. At all costs

You are talking about the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. But where is Ukraine in it? NATO trained the Ukrainian military, NATO supplies them with weapons, NATO generals lead the fighting, NATO supplies information from satellites. If they look like NATO, act like NATO, are controlled by NATO, then this is a conflict between Russia and NATO. Washington must withdraw.

Cyrus, I think you should work for UN as the ambassador for peace. You have done as a patriotic us citizen who tries your best effort to bridge the gap between the two countries USA and China., improving understanding between the two countries.
