And we can't even get potholes fixed in America, we got the infrastructure bill and I only see half the roads being redone and the really bad parts still ignored. Our infrastructure is kinda pathetic but our electrical grid is pretty good honestly. That's a smart use of the bill if you ask me, we always need power.

Wow spectacular beautiful project, very good job done

Just came back from visinting the north western part of China, 4 provincies including XinXiang (entry/exit at Shanghai) then briefly Shenzhen. Amazed at what I saw. Apart from modernizing, new and clever infrastructures, what impressed me most is their security management. You can now stroll any time, day or night at any place with no rubbish, homeless people, beggars, hookers, scumbags in sight. Not just front line cities but small towns and villages as well, all the same. It was a private holiday with no priorities or special arrangements. I wasn't sure about how Chinais running the country until now. Seeing is believing. She's got about 4 times more population than the US but how safe is NY, SF, Texas, Chicago small towns/cities etc?

You were right, the people are terrified of their dictatorial authoritarian government. There are surveillance cameras, everywhere with facial recognition, software, and not a single person is able to have any sort of privacy. Are you willing to give up your freedom to have clean streets. Are you willing to give up your religious beliefs? Are you willing to live in a place where the government can shut down an entire factory overnight and and put all the employees out of work, and with no way to pay for their home, food, or anything else? I am convinced now that if the human race is to settle on Mars, China is the one who can do it. However if concrete structures (rebar reinforced) say' takes up to 100 years to gain max strength before it begins to break down - high maintenance and replacement costs "one in a hundred years" would not be something to look forwards to.

I went to NYC and I could not believe the amount of high risers held up by scaffolds, simply because it is cheaper to use scaffolds than to repair the buildings. I could not believe the amount of roads and bridges that needed repair/replacement in USA. Talk about using duct tape to hold things together!
