Most Chinese people do not believe in religion, but they revere gods and nature. When traveling, they enter temples to pray for blessings (just a beautiful wish rather than a belief). The ancient Chinese philosophy of thought was that humans lived in harmony with nature.

China used over 5 billion tons of coal every year, the same amount as the next 9 nations combined. The USA uses about 750 million tons. The Chinese property developer went bankrupt and owes $300 billion. Hundred of Chinese ghost towns and their buildings sit empty or are being blown up. China spent $240 billion bailing out 23 bankrupt countries participating in Xi's Belt and Road Initiative. A highway to nowhere is useless. How is this "harmony with nature". China is destroying the planet.

The grass grids can be planned in such a way that it forms a natural swale and a berm. @@SaleSale100 the function of the grass grids is not about water it's all about arresting the migration of dunes. the grids traps the grains of sand by restricting the distance the wind can blow it. The grass is supported by drip irrigation that waters the grass to support growth. To hold water there is a chemical mix developed that when mixed with water behaves like clay, but this is reserved for agricultural purposes in the desert.

Chinese grass grids and tree plantations require years to become established enough to hold dunes from moving. During that time they will have to be maintained, replanting sections that don't survive. The idea is based on a proven project that was started in the 1980's by 6 poor farmers. They worked on their own, only with help from the families from the start. As they demonstrated their success, the government started to give them some money support. Additional families moved in when they saw the project working. There is a youtube about this private project.

So, Americano, can you demonstrate on street corner without a permit? For your sake, I hope you don't try that. Can you burn an American flag in public. For your sake, I hope you don't try that. Can you walk through the White House, even though it 's people's house. Can you sit in Congress while they discuss about budget. So, what can you do that other people cannot do?

Quatar must combine solar energy with solar agri farm as well underneath solar panels or in the inter spaces that can be judiciously used to increase green cover as well produce crops in addition to solar energy. They can also install dew drop harvesting for watering plants as well. Multi pronged approach would be highly economical

With all the surplus water in China overall, they should pump water to the arid areas and they could use solar panels to power the pumps in remote areas.

Northern China is water deficient, while southern China is rich in water resources. Many years ago, there was a South-to-North Water Diversion Project, but now I don't know what happened

In fact, China's overall water resources are not much, and one-sixth of the world's population owns six percent of the world's water resources. The South-to-North Water Transfer Project is to provide water resources to cities in the north. It has solved the water problem of 150 million people.

The Chinese better build tunnels for trains and cars and make places/cities on the tunnels. Installing water pipes with quality water through those tunnels. To choose places where cities were built near the tunnels, to build trees, flora and fauna and houses, where people live, schools, shops, work. That way the return will be much better to make the desert livable from A, to B to Z, from end to end.

@@garygraham4679 Your answer is devoid of any information and seems to be a simple biased, knee-jerk reaction. "A significant landmark was achieved in 2011 when the length of the Chinese expressway system surpassed that of the American interstate system. The planned length of the expressway system was set at 85,000 km but was exceeded since the system surpassed 100,000 km in 2013 and 169,000 km in 2021. The construction of new expressways will likely slow down afterward, underlining that at this point, China will have achieved an important step in its motorization transition. It remains to be assessed in light of the significant urban population, rising national production and consumption levels, and the fast growth of car ownership to what extent the national expressway network will be sufficient to support China’s mobility needs. Further, rapid growth will incur high maintenance costs as the highway infrastructure ages".
