I'm so glad you made this video. South Africans who have the opportunity to leave always feel scared to openly talk about life in SA for fear of reprisal by their countrymen. I left 11 years ago and moved to the UK. It shames me that the South Africans who haven't been further than the borders of their own province will demonise me for saying that SA isn't safe and I can't help but feel negatively towards it. These are the people who will drive under the influence at 110kmh in a 60 zone and justify their actions actions by saying, "well, at least I'm not raping or murdering someone". There's the fundamental problem with SA. The balance is so offset that know one truly knows what's right or wrong. I wish I still felt safe in SA. I wish I could save myself £200 going home by flying through Jo'Burg without my baggage being ransacked, instead of flying direct to Cape Town to minimise "collateral damage". I wish I could feel safe dropping my friend off at home at 11PM after dinner in Sea Point. I wish I didn't have to triple check every doors and windows every night before I go to bed. I wish I still had those mates who weren't plucked from this earth for a wristwatch or a DVD player.

benvad123 I have heard that argument plenty of times. But most of the white English speaking South Africans are ‘liberal’ social justice warriors and the men are too weak to stand up for themselves and instead prefer a life lived behind bars and high walls, paying taxes and bending the knee to the powers that be. I was always treated by my peers as winston talks about us being treated by blacks. I was evil and blamed for all the ills by pointing out how we need to stop bending and taking it and stick together - by my own white people! Its a fine theory to say we must not abandon it and its cowardly to leave whatever people say to rationalise their poor decision to stay. But in reality I am out for myself in this life and when people even in the minority are more concerned with virtue signalling than telling the truth, fuck that I am gone and will never return and for the ones who stay because its ‘brave’ - yeah tell me that after your family is tortured, hijacked, your home invaded, your cell phone stolen at gunpoint etc etc etc. Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces. That is exactly how white English speaking South Africans are.

It's happening in America and other places too. It does nothing but hold them back. White colonialism has happened many places and the pragmatic fact is, if it wasn't us, it would have been someone else. From what I can tell the Arabs and muslims were a hell of a lot worse and unlike white colonialism which has went so soft everyone suffers as a result, they don't ever let up or change their ways. Peoples that do shrug off resentments and work well w/ other countries advance though, like India and China. Mindset is half the battle.

Sainte Jeanne d'Arc India and China haven't really shrugged off resentments either. Some of my Indian friends blame the British for stealing their wealth (the Indian subcontinent was the largest economic entity in the world before British colonization). As for China, there's the national resentment against Japan, then there's also the resentment against the British for "the opium war". The differences are the resentment in India is much less severe, the resentments in China are mostly controlled by the authoritarian government, and both countries have traditional social ethics to favor hardworking as two long lasting civilizations.

And they were very cruel and treated black people in the most demeaning and humiliating ways. So, let's not forget history. Maybe that explains but in no way justifies the horrible attitude of the current black leaders in that country. I think what is missing is an apology for part of white people and forgiveness on the part of black people. Perhaps only then they can forgive past and move on. What is happening now with the persecution and killing of white people is as monstrous and horrible as what happened in the past.

+The Crimson Fucker Considering this 500 year stint of the imperialist, oppressive behavior largely on the behalf of European cultures containing pale skinned people, a people whose society generally only poses interest in dissimilar cultures when those cultures sit upon an exploitable resource, I'm surprised it hasn't happened more. Only in this century are white people really beginning to feel the unfair discrimination and treatment their own ancestors have often dealt out to people of other cultures, often also solely based on physical appearance. I say this as a white man. I'm not ashamed to be white but considering history, I'm surprised this hasn't been a greater issue. It's completely justifiable that we feel it's unfair and that we don't like it. We've only really given a small taste of how truly unfair the reverse situation must have been. It should be a wake-up call to be more accepting, not less. It should be a wake-up call on all sides to see the stupidity of judging someone based on their skin pigment for what it really is. We should speak this louder in action, not words.

The Dutch settlers arrived in South Africa in 1652 not long after white settlers arrived in North America, the English settlers arrived maybe two hundred years later. When the Dutch arrived the place was virtually unpopulated. The current black Africans arrived much later invading from the north and killing all in their path. During the time since 1652 the Dutch farmers built the country in the same way that the settlers built the USA. The Dutch had a pretty hard time and endured two wars with Britain but they were survivors that's why they didn't run away at the first sign of trouble. Would you expect white Americans to run away from the States when their families had been there for hundreds of years?

I'm not from South Africa, but I know exactly how you feel. Over ten years ago my career was going extremely well, and then the 2008 recession happened and my industry just never recovered to the level it was before, for the last 5 years I'm lucky if I gained over 30000$ a year, and I never get offered the jobs I'm perfectly qualified for...I've been sent to China twice for 2 month stints and loved it there, couldn't believe the change between my first trip (1999) and the second (2007). Your video inspired me, I've long been wanting to return and now will concentrate all my efforts to return...thank you

It always sort of amaze me to think that when PRC was founded in 1949, everything was destroyed to ground zero and in just 6 decades(that's only one generation, less than an average person's life span) everything has been rebuilt and the country is continuously growing in a massive speed. So suggestions to the youtuber, carefully tuck away your white elitist views to some place where people can't smell you out, because certainly, 20 years from now your world view on what's considered "first world" will be completely turned upside down, oh yea and by then KZread won't exist anymore so go find you a degree or some other ways to make money now.

Like my life story. Interrogated constantly by Polish KGB I escaped to US in 1978 @ age of 29. No money, no permit to work, no money given. I married Polish women in the same situation. Odd jobs for minimum pay, toilets, dying people care 24/7. Later Reagan gave immigration amnesty, but we had to pay thousands $ for it. 2 kids, first own house 50sq m. I builded next 2 myself, sold, made money. At work I advanced from simple factory worker to project mechanical engineer( no education).I designed lines for production of cars: US big 3, Mitsubishi, Honda, Toyota, Mercedes, machines to make Dreamliners from carbon fiber, computer discs, diapers, etc. Now I am 70, retired. Son, officer in Air Force, daughter owns paving company. Thanks to America of opportunity.God bless You man. You are doing good job to bring people together.

As an immigrant to Canada myself it really irks me that good people have to wait in line to get in but if you sneak in you get all kinds of benefits because of the colour of your skin.

My dad came to NYC with no education, scrubbing toilets to try to support us. He worked hard, started work an hour early, stayed an hour late. Someone noticed, they promoted him and he took on new responsibilities and he continued moving up. He would later manage several departments for a major university. For us, it meant moving out of a dangerous neighborhood and into a beautiful home on a tree lined street in a safe neighborhood. Today my brother and I are business owners with our own families who are also on the right track. I love this country.

I hope there will always be a growing amount of mankind which actively works against this mechanisms of hating and killing each other. But how he said, ones behavior inside the system alone does not make a difference. I think is politics on all levels of all possible social system formations. There need to be more Jane Addams persona and institutions.
