means even more things that can break than on Tesla… I hate this trend of putting small motors everywhere, door handles, powered opening of this, that and that… it will all break and cost 5 grand to fix

For batteries with energy density 450Wh/kg We will wait at least 4 years :( , current 250Wh/kg is quite disappointing .

Whichever EV company can achieve a 1000km range EV will create such a huge upheaval in the motor industry that will knock out many, not only the ICE car manufacturers but many EV car manufacturers as well! Imagine charging once at home and you can drive for a whole week for most of us!

It's not easy. Toyota has failed with hydrogen cars and now they're working on solid state battery. There will be many failures for sure.

I used to do research for a solid state battery company called SEEO and it is is so hard to get capacity near lithium iron battery. If this is true, this is truly game changing and I hope Elon Musk has stuffs in his sleeve to beat it.

What does the battery industry say about this new battery type?
Over unity motors instead of a battery will enable unlimited kilometres, they already have them but any person making them is threatened with his life or just killed.
1000KM range, fast charging, $15K, load with safety features and utilities. I'll sign up for a test drive.

NIO CEO drove 1000+ km’s last year, and NIO cars can swap battery’s under 5 minutes. This video came late to the party.

If this video is true & China can make them cheaply enough & ensure the batteries last for at least 10-15 years. - & replacement costs is not more than $2-3k US - then China will dominate the EV industry a long mile & will obliterate their competitors

Sounds too good to be true. How can a no-name brand step ahead and produce solid state batteries that are so far ahead. I call bs, I will believe it when they are on the road in my country.

EV is nothing China as a whole is a great shock for the entire humanity.
The Chinese have since time inmemorial and irrespective of the socio economy system have practised the basics of and the basis for rapid development and the many recent developments has increased the scale and pace like the stupendous innovations like the same as 1000 km battery enabling the Chinese to pull away further and faster from other races without any chance for the moribund people any chance of catching up but can only slip further behind ever more desperately.

Can’t wait for 1,000,000 km battery EV cars… NOT, it’s too costly and pricey. No one would be able to afford it, for sure. I love my ICE 2006 V8 American made for $6,000 used.

The 1000km range solid state battery is probably the ultimate competition as Toyota appears to have achieve success in developing solid state battery capable of achieving this range. Many lithium EV and ICE car manufacturers will bled to death.
