China's NEW COMAC C919 Will DESTROY The Entire Aviation Industry! Here's Why

Boeing and Airbus have dominated the commercial aviation sector for decades, but this might soon change, because China’s state-owned plane manufacturer has entered the race.
The C919 jetliner is being presented to potential buyers, and it might break the duopoly of the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 in the long run. So, What exactly makes the C919 so special and What could attract airlines to add it to their fleet?

A duopoly break will benefits developing countries. It won't be soon, but, COMAC no need to rush since long waiting list for domestic market. They need some time to prove reliability and boost reputation. This is the key to capture international market. Fuel efficient, lower cost advantages are secondary. Slowly they will replace foreign parts which is the final objective to reach Made by China airplane. Someday they will be successful like BYD, Huawei, DJI, CATL, SMIC, etc

Africa and SOuth AMerica are VERY most likely customer for C919, remmeber majority of latin american countries have free trade deals with china, and in the majority china is the biggest commercial partner.

C919 should be advertised as not only cheaper than Boeing, but also certified as better and safer. Otherwise if they advertise it as similar quality to Boeing, it'll be dangerous. Boeing aircrafts are falling off the skies.

The Comac C919 would be a great aircraft for the BRICS+, African, and SCO countries. Why focus on the West?

Why you say this, BRICS countries are not as stringent as the FAA or similar western agencies?. Embraer is in the B of BRICS and produces much better aircraft than Boeing or Airbus when same class. Embraer would be selling their E2 series like hotcakes in North America if it were not for the American "political" clause hurdle imposed on Embraer!

@@dc10fomin65 You must be kidding me. How do you think aircrafts are manufactured? High energy prices mean it cost more to produce a product which make it less competitive on the global market. According to Brazilian report, Brazil has the second most expensive energy bill in the world per capita. The survey carried out in 2022 points out that Brazil is second only to Colombia.

Regrettably agree that C919 is the threat for Boeing and Airbus. Especially loosing big chunk of the Chinese market and potentially this BRICS+ association who are willing to sign Chinese credit. Another factor is rise of the budget airlines who are always looking to cut costs.

I'm Chinese and I want to say the fact is that the LEAP 1-C variant used in C919 is indeed INFERIOR compared to the similar engines (LEAP 1-A and 1-B) used in Airbus and Boeing, with last generation material and technologies (such as poorer fuel economy, titanium fan blades as compared to composite materials), likely due to fear of CHINESE "stealing" their latest technology. Thus, the Chinese is currently developing their own engine replacement (CJ1000), but it takes time. Let's be real, Chinese technology is still behind the Western, and the only way to deal with it is to be humble and learn.

In 2022, there are 254 civil airports in mainland China, excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. Comac can survive just by flying domestic routes. If countries refuse to certify Comac commercial planes even though they meet the requirement, China can impose a tit for tat response and ban their commercial airlines from landing in Chinese airports.

It doesn't matter because the idea is to diversify away from US companies in case of sanctions. If the US refuse to sell its planes, it won't affect China as much and countries who are sanctioned like Iran, Russia and North Korea can buy this instead of Boeing and Airbus

Every single critical or complex system on the C919 is designed, engineered, and manufactured in western non-BRICS countries. The systems that are sent for use in the C919 are also severely restricted technologically to prevent IP theft of new advanced technologies. There is absolutely no chance that the C919 could ever be made or supplied without western companies. There are very few advantages to this approach, and COMAC has already spend a few hundred billion just to cobble together these non-native parts. Not exactly the revolutionary product you and they claim.
