China’s ‘malign tentacles’ influenced MP’s deportation from Djibouti | Tim Loughton MP

“This is just another example of the long malign tentacles of the Chinese communist government at home and abroad.”

Thank to your intelligent leaders for the success of this project. Or you mean that Srilankan minorities shouldn't take advantage of this project? You are mean and backward. Sirilankans should aim and pride to have equal rights and share country resources, health, education and contributions to the country to prosper. Imperialism is what this MPs visit was all about! To advocate for a secessionist region in Somalia. Which happened to be a former British protectorate. Imagine having an MP of an African nation going around Europe to advocate for the Scottish independence! Or Mexico going around Latin America to advocate for Texas independence! Somalia's unity or separation is up to the Somalis to decide, not the British! Just like it's up to the people of Scotland then, the UK to decide about Scotland and the people of Texas then the USA for Texas! It's time that former colonial powers like Britain and France respect African sovereignty and independence AND stop trying to help carve out smaller portions for their own interests! You've already done enough damage in the colonial era. Don't add insult to the injury! I'm not a fan of China, yes it exploits Africa like everyone else but China respects African sovereignty, it doesn't support secessionists and rebels, it doesn't push democracy or gay rights down African throats. China doesn't use embargo and other harsh measures against African nations that exercise their foreign policy independence! The real imperialists are the Western powers who took Africa, divided and used it as they pleased, claimed giving Africa it's independence BUT still think it's their right to dictate Africa's borders and it's future! That's the imperialist!

Yes its all very well wanting to "free" these places. Freedom without fiancial security is not freedom its a prison for the innocent Sadly they need investment as no country can pay for health care, school or roads and transport and countries cant always be fussy where that money comes from. He is not saying nothing that already is not known . People dont always like you for pointing things out every knows but dont want to acknowledge. The Chinese are more powerful and less trust worthy than a lot of people would like us to think. But for many years China was also very good at making money and much of the tecnology we couldnt function without as a society without originates there. I think the next war will be fought over the internet. Before you laugh think about how much we deprnd on the internet. The NHS, Airports, government central and local snd on and on. Just think what would happen if non of these things could get access to the internet. The effect that would have and how quickly it would happen. This might in part be why we want tbe chinese on side. I am not saying this would culprit would be china. But given the amount of tecnology equipement that is made in china I would say they wouldnt be a bad place to start. West wide computer virus anyone ?
