China's Exporters Are Crying at Canton Fair: Not a Single US Buyer, Electronics as Cheap as Cabbages

However, in a video uploaded by netizens from the Fair, a Chinese exhibitor complained that there were no customers, leading to substantial losses.
According to Radio Free Asia, some exhibitors at the Canton Fair are continuously complaining that they have spent hundreds of thousands of yuan to participate but have not seen any foreign buyers coming to inspect their goods. One exhibitor lamented, "It's not worth it. One booth costs over a hundred thousand yuan, and there are no people."

Always has been. It's not that China can't make good quality - that was true a long time ago, but they've developed the skill base for manufacturing now. It's just that they also excel at ultra-low-cost manufacturing, that that's usually what customers are looking for. They still have a notable lack of high-performance semiconductor manufacturing capability, but there aren't many countries which have that capability.

That's just their culture. They can't think long term. If you check their history, every so often, a kingdom collapses and leads to complete breakdown of governance. This occurs once every 3-4 generations, about 100 years. This also leads to mass deaths. Theres other modern factora as well like the CCP randomly making up laws without and foresight. Since the people cannot really be certain what will happen 50 years later, they only worry about what will happen 5 years later. That is their natural state, but due to CCP, now they only worry about 5 months later.

It's because Chinese mentality is there will always be another sucker and that superior Chinese is okay to rip off foreigners and outsiders. It works for a little while, but China's reputation as a provider of quality goods is essentially zero. Even Africa will buy Indian over Chinese. Indian consumer goods respect the budget of low income people while still providing a reasonably quality item. Chinese are famous for fake baby formula, exploding ebikes, and plastic rice. Western companies that have factories in China have to watch them like a hawk because the local managers (to do business in China you have to accept a lot of local partnerships and leadership) will substitute inferior materials and quality if given half a chance.

But that is nothing new to the citizens of china. They will be forced to endure and starve. Most evidence of the suffering will be censored and hidden. Western media will refuse to report much on it because they claim they can not verify the accuracy of the accounts and videos that will leak out. They will win the internal narrative in the end by changing the history in their schools in the future.

because that is THE FUTURE 😘 what is happening in China and the WEST is tied to birthrate. Inflation is tied to birthrate. Immigration is tied to birthrate. Why would WESTERN BUYERS spend $$$ on large industrial products with a limited consumer based back home? Africans countries have the marriages; → then new homes → then the baby → then the washing machine needed → then the school supplies → then teen items. IN THE WEST: 1 conglomerate own 10 brands; 1 no = 10 no. but upcoming market those owners are individual yes; yes they have small purchases but its a "YES." That yes 🤔🤔is why I dont think a Chinese person did this story. 🇨🇳 Chinese business never have a bigotry of what their buyers look like. a sale is a sale = you are in business as a seller. **Only the WEST cares what they BUYER looks like.................. I believe a western mind is behind this channel. Everyone else that does business outside the west thinks like this I AM A SELLER - I have a BUYER = good business 🚗🚙there is a reason you only see Nissan and Toyota's in Africa. 🚦🚥 because the Asian culture is Asian infact China's manufacter rise is in part due to investment from Japanese “Mrs. Watanabe” because in the 1990 the WEST cared about who they invest in and what do they look like in the face. = dumb Japan early investment in China is why Japan did not fall hard economically; China rise so will they. ditto when Africa rise : so will East Europe, so will S.America. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN TO ANY LAND, ANYTIME and old nations understand the rules on this planet. Today for you; tomorrow for me = is facts

Crying a river. China is a copyer and low price driver. But there is no profit in a race to the bottom of the bird cage. Japan faced the same problem as it emerged as a manufacturing force and overcame it by going up market. But once all your customers see crappy quality, it's hard to change the perception. Japan took 40 years to climb out of it. They moved their low cost lines to Thailand and Vietnam...even Taiwan, and kept the higher value manufacturing at home. The other problem is that China is not a safe investment because of the regime and its dictatorial methods. You could see your investment disappearing at the whim of the CCP. And theres no redress. Sweden's Volvo owned Chinese brand Polestar has been written down to zero in its books.
