They will put more tariffs, give massive subsidies to domestic automakers then claim Chinese companies are nothing without subsidies. Now people living in western countries are wondering how Chinese auto makers became so competitive with all the subsidies they receive, while their own automakers are falling off with all them innovations, a truly confused population just to save the face of those politicians up there.

This is the exact reason why the West is panicking and has set up trade barriers and tariffs against Chinese EVs like BYD. They suddenly find themselves difficult to compete after neglecting EVs for a long time and all the associated variables such as having a large team of qualified and educated engineers (mechanical, electrical and chemical) in their country. For far too long, anyone going into the "noble" sciences in the West, are regarded as "nerds" with little respect paid. Students in sports get the attention, the financial rewards and the accolades instead. Well, the rooster has now come home and calling out the chickens and discovering that the hens have been asleep at their nests.

There’s a reason why the US wants to ban all Chinese EV’s long before they have even set foot in the US! They would put those outdated and overpriced American cars out of business within a few years! That’s why! Trust me, the politicians and the ceo’s of GM, Ford, and Chryslers didn’t have multiple meetings with each other just to have lunch, hold hands, and sing kumbaya! They knew how much better those Chinese EV’s are than anything the US has and the fact that they are being sold 4 times cheaper than the American junks really shook them to the core!

The US politicians saw the reports that came out that showed how much better Chinese EV’s are than those outdated American cars and immediately wanted to ban them way before any Chinese EV’s have even made their way to North America never mind into the US! Since the US has already banned nearly 1000 Chinese companies from coming into the US and is fearing that banning another Chinese company would cause China to ban some products into the US that are crucial to the US’s economy and the heath of its citizens in retaliation, such as medicines, the US politicians decided to put 100% tariffs on Chinese EV’s instead of outright banning them for now despite the fact that not a single Chinese EV has even made their way into North America yet never mind into the US! That’s how much better Chinese cars are than American cars and why US politicians feared China’s superior EV’s so much! Like Elon Musk said, the US’s auto industry would go out of business within a few years if the US government doesn’t pull some kind of schemes to set Chinese EV’s back!

100,000RMB that is roughly $13,800USD for a 2000km range. Even with a 100% tariff in the US that BYD DMi car is still priced lower than 95% of the basic cars sold here. It amazes me how BYD can build something like that at that price range and still make profit. They really have EV manufacturing down to a science. Mind blowing. Just imagine how beneficial this can be for low income families here in the US if ppl could buy it for $13,800USD. It would literally provide ppl with social and economic mobility and find jobs far away where they are not dependent on waiting on the bus. These tariffs do nothing but hurt low and middle income American families.

Very good points you make, the way then can produce at such a price is down to their highly integrated supply chain, they make a majority of the components themselves, so don't rely too much on 3rd party suppliers. The also have very automated factories. Couple that with large volumes, and that is how they do it.

Even if the tariffs are 100% they are more than twice the cars produced for average people. Thanks for this video, America pulled out of Australia years ago so there no locally produced vehicle to compete with, and these vehicles would not be called ‘luxury cars’, so they should avoid luxury car tax, so the average everyday Aussie should get a luxury vehicle at a very good price. I would hope that Australia doesn’t get caught up with all of the American issues and thereby block Australians from owning one of these vehicles.
