You can either get to the US through Canada or Mexico, or you have to come on a boat and there aren't as many passenger trips on those anymore. I've heard a lot of folks are getting held up on the Mexican side of the border waiting for US bureaucracy to get through their applications. Not an easy task to keep hundreds to thousands of refugees supplied and keep things organized while they get through paperwork.

I'd argue China is a "low-trust society" in some aspects. The example he gave about leaving food for the homeless is a very good one. People WILL take advantage of it. *However, it is also a high trust society compared to the States in many other aspects, such as safety* . I have never once felt like i would get shot, or lethally injured during my time there. Sure there's some bantering, arguing, screaming at best and is more common than the States, but generally everyone feel very safe about lethal force or serious safety related crimes. Whereas coming back, i have zero trust that some Karen isn't just going to pull out a gun and pop me. My city just recently had multiple public transit murder incidents back to back weeks in a row and i'm in Canada, known for safety (i spend a lot of time in NYC as well, even worse). I'm always fearing for strangers or potential lethal situations in America

In small numbers, its not a big deal. But seriously if we have a radical population shift from this, its a danger to us, just as it is with immigrants form mexico or south america. The problem is that if you get a significant percentage of your population who are first or second generation immigrants from another country, the cultural values of the country are going to change as these people bring their native values and views in. That doesn't go away until the third or fourth or even fifth generation, and in some cases such as the people who live in sequestered communities, it seemingly lasts forever. look at chinatown in san francisco where there are chinese americans who barely speak english despite having being born and raised here. The values of people from China are in stark contrast to the American values of freedom of speech and thought. I don't want to see these things eroded even more than they already are.

It really depends. Unless you _completely_ barricade yourself into some local diaspora, meeting other people in K-12 is really all it takes to socialize the next generation to a satisfactory amount. There's been a long history of sentiment against immigration from China. California put an anti-Chinese immigration law on the books as early as the 1850s, though the state court struck it down. The attitude developed until the Chinese Exclusion Act was signed by the US President in 1882, which all but banned immigration from China (and eventually other Asian countries, as well; note that the law allowed educated Chinese to immigrate, though my understanding is that shenanigans were often employed to keep them out anyway), and it was only stricken from the books when China's status as a World War 2 ally made the law a bit of an embarassment.

We have large Chinese communities where it’s possible to find success without taking advantage of people or being taken advantage of constantly. Especially if you’re less focused on yourself and you’re doing it for your family. I’ve met people who immigrated here with nothing to their name, worked hard, and put everything they earned into sending their kids to college so they can have a better future. It gives them satisfaction to know their kids have a future, and I think that’s very admirable.

I just came across this video. I had hoped that you would mention the illegal border crossings happening between Saipan and Guam. Chinese people would travel to Saipan and then get ferried by small boats to Guam. This had been ongoing for months. Once on Guam the boats are abandoned or set adrift and these illegals would walk towards a road and wait in the jungle for their contact to pick them up. As you said even when apprehended they are provided medical attention, fed and handed a notice to appear but with Guam’s large Chinese population they just blend in and INS has a difficult time locating them again. I am worried that these people are not vetted so INS has no idea what their intentions are, besides that they are requesting asylum into Guam which is a United States Territory. With the growing threat from China to the United States and the fact that Guam has a large Air Force base and a large Navy base plus the building of a Marine base along with the influx of around 10 thousand marines. We need to think and worry that among these illegals may be some seeking to harm our island. Please check the island’s media reports on this issue. FYI.

I lived on Guam for a total of 6 years when I was younger during 2 rotations. I attended the Chinese Temple, and the Chinese community was small and tight knit back then, a family. I remember the Monk who the Local Chinese built the Temple for was sacked and replaced by mainlanders. I left the island when this occured, and had heard things started to get weird over there afterwards. Now onto the current subject, China is preparing to do to Taiwan what Russia did to Ukraine, which will most likely occurs when the next US President is decided in 2024. They will do a few things, first next month BRICS introduces its new currency to circumvent the Dollar. They will let this currency settle and its use mature and stabilize from now till August. From now until then China will continue to move its Military personal into the US via these Migrant Trains, who blend in with the genuine people who flee. These military personal, being both military ages male and females, then plant themselves where they need to be and wait until the election. Come election time, when China sees Trump as the next President, they will sell off their entire US Treasury Holdings. This will result in a Fire Sale which will induce a Debt Default and financially collapse the United States, thereby rendering it financially incapable of protecting Taiwan. This will be followed by Chinese Military Sleeper Cells activating and conducting Terrorist Attacks throughout the US to distract the Military to focus on HomeFront Security. It may very well get to such a level that Trump would have to activate FDR’s internment Order and Intern the Chinese in order to sort out the good from the bad, as the bad will intentionally frame the good which occurs routinely in China. As for Guam, the Chinese Navy will surround the island and attempt a temporary annexation of it in order to maintain US Naval pressure away from Taiwan. Wether the innocent Chinese in Guam as a result of the Chinese occupation is of no concern to China. They killed multiple millions of Chinese via the Cultural Revolution and Great Leap Forward. More dead Chinese is nothing to them. When all is said and done, China will have an next Taiwan and the Taiwanese will have blown up the chip factories in the process, a global Chip shortage will occur and technologically speaking humanity will be stuck in 2023 for the next 10-20 years as nobody will be able to progress without those Chips.

Mom's s side came from Mexico to escape poverty and high crime, father's side grandparents came to escape Germany during WWII. Both were very good, hardworking people that came with and from nothing but did not expect anything to be handed to them. They worked for every single thing they later accomplished. They taught me well and I'll always be extremely grateful. I don't have contact with my father's side since my grandfather passed away several yrs ago, but I grew up with and am close to my mother's side. They are all very much against illegal immigration because they know the type of people who are freely coming in here, and living in TX, we deal with a LOT of it now. I knew that having an inept administration (to put it very mildly) that advertized wide open borders the second they stole the house wouid cause a huge influx in illegal immigration. Like I said, we see it on the daily and just how bad it is from the South. I never thought of there being such a huge problem from the North as well to be honest. This is going to end so badly. Heck, we've already been in a state of emergency regarding all of this since day one. Our government is giving free housing, food, jobs, healthcare, etc to anyone coming in illegally while OUR OWN PEOPLE suffer daily, dying on the streets with no food, shelter, or med care. Many are US vets!! The economy is in the pits just when it was flourishing only a few years prior... It all makes me so sick to my stomach. Face culture is more complex that what your understanding here is - I think it's reductive to imagine such scenarios because in reality a lot of the face culture and economic pragmatism exists within a whole context of a lot of other factors like the social standing of the person in question, their economic position and what is regarded as socially acceptable behaviour in a different culture. Whatever answer you come to from this scenario would be incongruent to reality without consideration of the complexities that would dictate the behaviour of people in these circumstances

For decades, they'd look at fellow Chinese who also immigrated here legally, and give them opportunities hiring them for jobs, since they saw it as a form of paying back the opportunities that were given to them when they first started out. They taught me my manners, as rebellious as a kid that I was. But after one time they rented out their investment property to a mainlander, they vowed never again, and sold the property off. The reason was because the tenant was always late on their rent, ultimately stopped paying altogether, and was forcibly evicted. But before they were kicked out, they deliberately trashed the place, slashing furniture, dumping trash everywhere, clogging the toilets and sinks, you name it...don't get me started on the (pet?) feces. They've since bought a smaller unit to rent out, but will now only rent it to people born here (regardless of ethnicity). That was very anecdotal, but it really just shows how completely opposite one can be to the dog-eat-dog society of China.

Universities in Australia are expensive, but not as expensive as US ones. After 4-5 years, the youngster graduate, get a job and a permanent residency visa in Australia and because Chinese Families usually has one Kid, they can apply for a visa for their parents. That's how the whole family moves. However with the internal working visas restrictions, it doesn't mean you can move as you want inside the country really fast. You have to apply for residency. It avoids even more overpopulated urban cities on the coast, but it creates a two speed economy depending on the province in which you were born. Everything you said about the Chinese is also true for the Central and South American people who show up at the border. Everyone heard that the US was letting almost everyone in and deporting almost nobody.

They are jumping a sinking ship we are at war w/ Ruh sha who are threatening nukes, our economy is very bad as well as banks are failing on the daily, our gov is sending any money that could be used to help people over to ukraine etc etc etc... I don't think this is going to be a good place to land, the rich are buying up islands, building multi million dollar bunkers, or moving to South America. The rest of us are screwed.

there are 2 countries in central america that people stop migrating to united states ; costa rica and panama . people who want to get into the USA are from the northern central america triangle ; honduras , guatemala, nicaragua . is the same with south america the most stable countries you wont see many migrants from there but you would see lots of venezuelans , and now argentinians . but you wont find uruguayians cause uruguay is great . im from costa rica and we also receive lots of migrants. im 29 i remember growin up in the 2000s lots of people still went to USA but not anymore i guess after the recession of 2008 the numbers of costa ricans migrating to USA has drop quite significately of course some still do but the numbers are not very high . dont get me wrong most people here have a very favorable opinion of americans specially now since we now know how the ccp makes business they make USA seem like angels XD seriously .

Regardless of wherever you stand politically speaking, the immigration issue in the US is ridiculous, and it is without a doubt that it will soon implode, ICE/border patrol are so overwhelmed that they just let people go, regardless of where they come from. We are effectively letting people into our country in droves, and simply ask them to sign a half-assed pinky-promise that they will show up to court and have their immigratory status regulated. And said court system is so backed up with appointments, that Judges don't have enough time to properly question all the illegal immigrants, and simply give them working permits for basically just showing up to the appointment, so they can at the very least support themselves. Is it any wonder why CCP spies pop up all over the place? And how many more others are yet to be discovered? And why we have so many issues with poorly vetted illegal immigrants in general? Even where I live, many people go about without ID's or even drivers licenses and they do indeed own cars and use them on a daily basis. It's insane that people make this a moral question when it will surely lead to the system imploding and our cities becoming nothing more but a bus stop for the rest of the world. This is a crisis in every sense of the word.
