You got to admit there was some fantastic music coming out of Liverpool from the 80s.

I remember Billy Connolly choosing this as one of his favourite songs on Radio 1's My Top Ten

When I 1st Heard this AWESOME Song Back in the 80's ...I WAS HOOKED.!!...I still am today in 2019.!

Judging by the number of measly views and comments relating to this song and CC, the said are way way way overlooked for their talent and brilliant songs !!!

They might be miming here but they were obviously very adept at playing their instruments. Loved this song for years.

True, I wouod say 10% was dross, tgat still gives the 80's 90% success rate, that's an A grade. Today, I would say, the success rate is 30% that's an E grade. Big difference

It's catholic as in open-minded, eclectic, not the religion. As I read it, it's a piss-take out of 80s yuppies-could be wrong.

Check the video, though. IMHO It's referring to someone on the make, in politics or business, (is there any difference?), with no fixed opinions, ( open minded, a pragmatist, i.e. catholic) a snake, a Michael Rimmer type. ..in the video Gary is dressed as a spiv or a oily glib sinister looking Oswald Mosley character- 'for what you want take me instead' means / I take to mean they're a sham, a charlatan. 'your main man confidence smile' suggests a trickster, too. I think it's very funny.
