80's music, especially UK new waves were the best and coolest, it always got that romantic sound & feel. Truly the peak era of UK artists.

The peace and joy that radiates out from this song is incredible. Soothes the soul. Utterly beautiful.

Definitely one of the more timeless 80s classics, there are some new wave tunes that sound immediately 80s, be it an aggressively synthy sound, crazy sounding guitar work, reverb on everything etc. This though, with its simple drum beats, simple stringy synth sound, simple everything really, could easily be made today and still sound pretty neat. China Crisis are so underrated it hurts, they should be as widely held up a Liverpool band as The Beatles as far as I care! More than any other band in the genre, this is just…sweet and delightful new wave…and that’s a sweet spot for me.

Este buen grupo britanico pertenecio al llamado movimiento new age indie o simplemente musica indie, que se caracterizo por hacer composiciones de alta calidad muy aclamados por la critica pero que lamentablemente no lograron el exito comercial que debian. Sin embargo la gran calidad de su trabajo ha ido siendo reconocido a traves de los años y hoy mas de 30 años despues han salido covers de sus temas. China Crisis, junto a Prefab Sprout y Deacon Blue son la trilogia por exelencia de el movimiento indie donde ademas hay otras bandas como Aztec Camera, The Smith, Fiction Factory, The Kane Gang, por nombrar los que ahora recuerdo. Hace poco Netflix en una serie incluyo uná cancion de China Crisis y mucha gente joven se intereso en ellos. En los Simpson, en el capitulo donde Bart se enamora, cuando termina el mismo y dan los creditos suena de fondo un cover de I'll never fall in love again de Deacon Blue. La cantante Cher reversiono el tema The Gunman de Prefab Sprout. La cancion When love breaks down tambien de los Sprout ha sido profusamente reversionada por Snow Patrol, The Zombies, E'voke, Kate Walsh, Lisa Standfield, etc, etc. En fin el tiempo ha ido haciendo justicia con estos excelentes musico britanicos de los 80s. Saludos desde Chile.

1984 was a great year for pop music its been mainly downhill since then sadly

Met them when I was 15, supported an act (can't remember who) local to me. Lovely scouse guys who hilariously struggled to say my name..."Biv?" and gave me their backstage pass as a souvenir even though I didn't ask for it.
