Love your videos. I am an australian paediatrician. Many of our staff across health care are either British (NHS refugees- they are excellent and very welcome) or Irish or trained there so you will see lots of similarities in child health. As medicare started in 1974, 27 years after the NHS it is a hybrid public-private system with some pluses and minuses. In 1974 the dentists didn't want or support medicare so teeth were not covered- meaning our dental care system is closer to the U.S. system with high costs and variable access. Hope you are enjoying life in Australia- the kids seemed very pleased to be here. Andrew. Sydney

Thanks for the effort you put into making these. I follow on insta and you mentioned it’s not easy to juggle. Mum of one 2 year old, he’s close to Ren in age and it’s super helpful to watch along. I know I will have to make a huge pegboard/ post-it wall with all the things to do after landing. ♥️ hope you’ll consider sharing about your job and how you managed it in the end. Much love from Holland 🥰

As for covid jabs my personal experience and knowledge is don't have it. I had to have my two jabs when we had our lockdown or i wouldn't have a job to go back to after it. I didn't want it in the 1st place and after the the jab i know have Tinnitus in my ears. Its constant high pitch noise that never stops and will no doubt have for the rest of my life. My ears were fine till just several days after the 1st jab. Theres also many others who have had the same thing happened to them which has happened to me. Ive only had the 2 jabs and will not be getting any more for covid. Just my story and letting others know.

I have to say I do agree, however in this video i'm purely talking about routine childhood immunisations that you are required to have for things like daycare/preschool etc :) NOT the covid jabs (i've also heard lots of awful stories about them) im sorry you are experiencing effects - my auntie has long covid and is also experiencing awful side effects that have really affected her & her life.

I wonder if you had considered sunglasses for the kiddies to protect their eyes from the sun?

It's also worth noting that if it's a serious emergency then you can go straight to the GP clinic and someone will help straight away. For instance once had a family member fall through a window and they got stitched up right there at the GP clinic. Most shots even for adults that are essential are also free at GP clinics as well; if you need a booster for tetanus for instance. The only emergency for going to a hospital instead or getting an ambulance might be ones that need special equipment or experts. That reminds me - you can take out ambulance cover for a whole family pretty cheaply: that covers all ambulance trips whether that is road, helicopter etc.

Thank you for this. I did read that you MUST have ambulance cover. I know different states charge different fees but here in NSW I think we are $1000! Yikes!

@@kimberleylucas Health services are delivered (and regulated) by state government agencies or privately, hence the variation in fees across the country. The only federal (national) government involvement is through Medicare and the Pharmaceutical Benefits scheme, both of which are insurance and not service delivery programs. Cross (state) border agreements are in place for public healthcare provided to out of state residents - who are treated in most cases as residents of the state in which services are provided.
