This story portrays a false narrative. The evidence showed that she abused the child on multiple occasions. The child had multiple broken bones that had healed at different times. She also had bite marks on her body.

SHe suffered physical and mental abuse at home by his mother and older daughters 9. CPS found cocaine in her blood. 10. Mom claims two year old fell from stairs two days before her death. The autopsy report concluded that Mariah was severely beaten and ruled her death a homicide caused by blunt force head trauma that was about a week 2 weeks old not caused by falling down the stairs which was two days from the supposed stairs incident.

@AJ Lyfe I don't think any of us no the full story tbh. Also when she was interrogated she should have had counsel.with her the whole time rather than being put through a gestapo.like interrogation. How many innocent peoples cases have been overturned due to bad police work and not basing everything on facts rather than feelings of course i feel terrible that a child died but no need for the deaths penalty..there are pedophiles, rapists and murderers that have not even come close to having to do the same time or face death penalty.

It’s a binary answer to the human way of dealing with life, which is very dynamic and non-binary. Nonetheless, until we find a better system to dole out the binary “yes or no” to execution, then this is the best you’ll get. It’s never black and white.

Gary Ridgeway didn't get the death penalty. He killed over 70 women, but the state of Washington never gave the death penalty to anyone who killed more than 3 people in its entire history. The Death Penalty has since been abolished. Carl Eugene Watts is suspected of killing over 90. He got life without parole. Perhaps it's time for Texas to end it too. Just because there should be a pretense of fairness in the justice system.

She drops him a few feet down and he gets mauled and killed by wild dogs and gets no time. They gave her the bod and didn't even investigate to see if it could have been Intentional. With other kids in the house. How do we not know if she's protecting one of them.

Her son even said in an interview that she was neglectful and there was no structure in the home. And damn why was she so violent when she spanked that doll. That is too much for a little baby.

Because of possibly the other kids? Biting is a kid thing, so is pulling hair. Fractures can happen and might not realize it. I know the fracture thing as a fact. Seeing as my own daughter ( albeit older) fractured her ankle, didn't know it until a year later, when she sprained ankle badly, jumping from a hay loft. She was taken to ER , and they took x-rays. Dr came back and told me & her dad she'd had a fractured spot about a year prior. It popped into our head where she'd hurt ankle, but it didn't swell or stop her from jumping on a trampoline. She ended up needing screws put in to reattach ligaments in ankle, after bad sprain, but not the fracture. With that many kids, another kid could of easily stepped on her, knocked her down into something etc. , healing fractures don't exactly mean abuse. Especially with that many kids running around.

@@anitawindbigler7100 exactly what I was thinking. It’s very iffy tho. It could’ve been child abuse or there could’ve been reasonable explanations for it like the other kids as kids can be rough and some kids are biters and hair pullers so that could explain the bites and missing hair patches. I bruise very easy and can go to bed without a bruise and wake up with 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. easily and big ones even happened as a kid but not nearly as much or as bad as it is now. The bruises could’ve even been from the other children being rough or rough housing. Fractures could’ve been the same. But on the other hand all of that could’ve also been abuse too. n 2007, Lucio had fourteen children, and nine of them lived with Lucio and her boyfriend, Robert Alvarez. On February 17, 2007, paramedics were called to the Lucio residence because the youngest child, two-year-old Mariah Alvarez, was unresponsive and not breathing. According to the Cameron County District Attorney's Office, Mariah was found at the home with signs of abuse on her body. She reportedly had scattered bruising, bite marks on her back, patches of hair that had been pulled out, and a broken arm. According to Lucio, two days earlier Mariah had fallen down a set of stairs, leading to her injuries.[2] Mariah was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital. It was later determined that Mariah's arm had been broken two to seven weeks before her death, and an autopsy also showed a head injury and bruising of the kidneys, lungs, and spinal cord

The truth is that one of her daughters killed the toddler by throwing her down the stairs. Yet they say she fell on accident but if you watch the documentary on Netflix you can clearly see that one of her older daughters hated that child. You can see it in her eyes that this older daughter was hitting the child as a normal behavior their were 14 kids or whatever and it all got lost in the chaos. She admitted to spanking her children but you can see in the documentary that she took that blame because she knew her older daughter was abusive. It could if very well been an accident but I believe the daughter threw her little sister down the stairs. If anything else it was negligent but I do not think this woman killed her baby.

13 kids escaped a killers grip but one was unlucky? That’s unlikely in my opinion. That alone puts doubt on my mind. In some abusive homes one person may become the “scapegoat.” That person may bear the brunt of abuse or even bear the burden of all the abuse. However, her other children are adults now. They would probably have witnessed the abuse if it was going on. I don’t think, as adults, that they would support their mother if they knew she was abusing a toddler, their defenseless sister.

@@americanangel6760 We don’t know the full story behind the scene. The media is making it seem like accident, but with the body bruises raises a lot of questions. Funny how the media isn’t telling us what the autopsy result, all they saying is “possible death due to head injuries.” There got to be more to the report that led to all the body bruises that they’re not telling us.

@@ht-sneakers80 n 2007, Lucio had fourteen children, and nine of them lived with Lucio and her boyfriend, Robert Alvarez. It was later determined that Mariah's arm had been broken two to seven weeks before her death, and an autopsy also showed a head injury and bruising of the kidneys, lungs and spinal cord.

She was deprived of her constitutional right. She should’ve had a lawyer that she could’ve spoken to in Spanish to express her emotions, feelings, and actually what truly happened on that fateful day. But if my child fell down a flight of steps I wouldn’t wait two days to take them to the hospital they would’ve been in the ambulance the same day the same hour that it had happened. This is really crazy but unfortunately things are the way they are in America when you have police interrogation is going on for hours on hours eventually she’s going to admit to what she did I believe she’s guilty

What are you NOT telling viewers because the weighty slap to the back as she demonstrated to cops was excessive and would cause injury to a toddler. Give all the details of the autopsy and CPS history if any.

PLEASE READ: Melissa had all her children taken by CPS when Mariah was only two weeks old, they were found in very dirty conditions and the younger ones had feces covering there genitals. She was tested for drugs and was found with cocaine in her system. The kids were taken away from her fro about 18 months and then returned to her three months before Mariah was murdered. All these injuries were caused WITH IN THREE MONTHS; broken untreated bones including a broken arm that was healing, hair was missing all over her little head, bite marks were found on her back, old and new bruises covered her body, PINCH MARKS ON HER VAGINAL AREA, and multiple contusions to her head, her ending up dying slowly from blunt force trauma to her head. Her last days were of her not eating, twitching, and not saying a word, just tired looking. POOR BABY WAS DYING SLOW and is was clear and her mother still did not try to at least save her. The signs were there of a head injury that was slowly killing her. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH GUYS, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO CHILDREN BEING ABUSED AND KILLED. This woman is not innocent by any means and she deserves to die and be executed immediately.

There is a moral obligation for mothers and fathers to care and protect their children. If one fails to do that accidentally or not there must be a consequence. I won’t speak to what the consequence should be, but we cannot absolve a person based on incident. Accident or not the child died, where is the justice for that?
