As harsh as this sounds, parents don't seem to be doing enough to protect their children from the dangers of social media. If they won't, the government will step in, for better or worse. These things don't just go away once you're an adult, they're carried with you for the rest of your life.

I definitely feel horrible for the way I judged Brynn and Kenzie for vaping and sometimes even swearing. I was a late bloomer in that aspect, but it’s completely normal for teens to experiment with things like that and although I would still never advise it, I would condone it for the wrong reasons, claiming they had to be these pillars of morality for their fans to follow. Luckily I never posted any of that online but I was genuinely so naive, because most of my friends were vaping and drinking at like 13 lol However, I do think some of the fans had genuine concerns, but we were all kids and couldn’t express it correctly. It saddens me that so many other very young adults are now having to go through addiction treatment for vapes they used as kids … I’m glad Brynn at least has revealed that her mom had reprimanded her at the time

The actual problem is the beauty industry and social media/society aka all of us. (This will be long to read, so I apologize.) We love to collectively blame celebrities for “setting a bad example and being bad role models” for young girls as well as setting unhealthy, unnatural, and unrealistic beauty standards/trends but we don’t take into consideration that they’re even victims of it. For one thing…..every parent out there should be their daughters’ first and maybe only role model, like stop relying on celebrities who aren’t focused on your kids at all, to be role models because most of them never asked to be. Now, as for the beauty industry….the industry itself has been putting out new beauty trends, and standards for years….they just use celebrities and influencers as puppets to show them off. Yes a lot of them have endorsed some really bad beauty trends, but that’s because back then….they had to, that’s just how Hollywood and the beauty industry was. As for us aka social media/society….we’re definitely to blame because a lot of us whether we wanna admit it or not, have definitely at some point….criticized, and bullied someone online for how they naturally looked. We love to bully others for how they naturally look yet, we get so mad when they do change their physical appearance. The biggest culprits are a lot of these older women who do it to younger girls, most likely out of jealousy and personal insecurities because although these girls are changing and growing up too fast…..they actually look good, they kinda look a lot better than most of these grown women did way back then. We say that we want all women, and young girls to be all natural yet we pick on them for how they naturally look, and some of us will go as for as to even suggest to them getting surgery to change their appearances, yet when they actually do it…..we get mad at them, and if they aren’t honest about doing it….we get mad at them, even though we would’ve gotten mad if they had been honest. Society and social media can never be truly satisfied with how we all individually look, which is why we go after others if they are naturally are beautiful, or if they have the money and access to change their appearance. We’re part of the problem, but never wanna take accountability. That’s makes us hypocrites to this, and until we can admit that to ourselves and learn to leave each other alone when it comes to “beauty” and just mind our own business and worry about our own physical appearances….we can’t say anything.

Social media can be extremely damaging and as someone who got in WAY too deep way to young I do think there needs to be more awareness and openness about kids being safe online. I also think parents need to work on being understanding and working with their kids to set boundaries that work for both the kid and the parent. I know a lot of people my age who experienced horrible things on social media but didn’t tell their parents because they knew it would get taken away and social media also helped them in some ways. There definitely need to be measures put in place , but nothing like the crazy KOSA act thing that’s going on right now. That’s the exact opposite of what we need.

But In the photo Maddie was seen wearing acrylic nails and everybody thought that the girl who wrote the letter hacked Maddie’s account because people knew that acrylic nails were against ALDC regulations. Please let me know if anyone knows what I’m talking about or if anyone witnessed this event when it happened.

Most adults can't handle social media so I don't know how kids cope with it especially when they are in their early teens. Comparing your real life to someone else's highlight reel is hard enough as an adult so putting that kind of pressure on kids who are discovering who they are is definitely unhealthy.

The Dance Moms girls gained fame from their performances in the Dance Moms series. ALL became "stars": of sorts, and as such, they were subjected to CONSEQUENCES of fame. Because the girls and their mothers were NOT BROUGHT UP in the world of celebrity, THEY DID NOT know the downside of their expanding their celebrity status to social media and the Internet. My first reaction to the girls complaining here about being attacked on-line was that THEY SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER than to make details of their private lives public for the entire world to see. Then I realized that social media was relatively new, and there was nobody to warn the girls about sharing their personal information with strangers on social media. I CRINGED whenever I came across Internet videos or other postings by the Dance Moms cast members, knowing that each view into their private lives would subject them to envy, criticism, BULLYING, and JEALOUSY, mostly by pre-teen and teenage by viewers. The value of a show and/or its participants is determined by the number of viewers each generates. This is responsible for the social media presence of the Dance Moms performers and their almost obsessional publishing of content. The submission of EACH KZread video by a Dance Moms cast member earns thousands of dollars for its creator, according to the number of views and subscribers generated. Private information such as relationships consistently generate the most views and therefore the most money for Dance Moms cast members (Moms included). More important is the increased number of followers the Internet videos create. The most successful Dance Moms social media creators (those with the most viewers), hugely increased their celebrity status, SEPARATELY from their presence on Dance Moms. The girls are now young adults, and with increased age, has come the wisdom of experience. Judging by their comments in this video, all have learned to modify their social media presence to cut down on the amount and type of personal information shared on-line. They also learned to ignore most of the jealous and catty remarks of dissatisfied and jealous "Mean Girls", who make the majority of critical remarks. For most, their social media presence today has kept them popular now that there is no more Dance Moms show. This continued relevance is responsible for the majority of their income while they prepare for their futures as adults.

I’m not going to comment on just the dance moms kids: but no matter what age you are the internet is dangerous and all child stars deal with the exact same thing in their own ways: obviously not just the kids on dance moms and making mistakes is a part of growing up for everyone and we will do it forever: it’s how we learn: no matter what age: For all parents it’s up to them to police their kids content that they put up online and the younger they are: it’s up to the parents who can comment: not watch unfortunately, but it’s not like their the first to grow up in the public eye with mistakes: Lindsay lohan, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Demi lovato, Ariana Grande, Mary - Kate Olsen, Ashley Olsen to name a few and that only only this century: only naming people who have made huge mistakes that has caused trouble weather leaked stuff to police: anyone growing up in the public eye is going to deal with everything like this: in their own way. No one’s perfect and I’m gonna say about Kenzie’s vaping WHO CARES: as she made a comment on social media that she was just doing what everyone else her age was doing: TRUE, for these specific kids it’s their looks and weight scrutinised because they were on a show for kids training to be dancers: I believe everyone is perfect in our OWN WAY. NEED I GO ON.

This needs to be talked about more, although some of them bring it on themselves tbh. Don’t get the wrong idea. I don’t condone the disrespect, I just think some people (not on Dance Moms) post intentional bait to generate revenue. This might be a hot take, but I standby this. Especially when they intentionally don’t educate themselves about topics like racism and stuff like that. People make mistakes, but DIGITAL FOOTPRINT exist!!

She still has so much going on and being an adult and open about her sexuality is even more to take in. This also includes any contracts Jojo has signed and how long she has to stick to any certain contract or contracts. It gets pretty wild in that type of business. I am shocked about Jame Charles? I don't know much about C.B. i never got into her. Ive heard and read things but i just can't absorb it. I just hope that Jojo does end up realizing what way is good for her and doesn't continue to get caught up in some of these people that could be luring her into some compermising situations.
