Love this story. My husband and I met when I was 16 and he was 19. Over 40 years ago an mixed relationship wasn't easy. But we did it for 3 years. We have no idea why we split, but we did. Apart for 17 years. Never stopped thinking or loving each other. Been back together for almost 22 years.

absolutely I was thinking the same. he was the most loving one and so is his daughter. his wife and her parents are not like him. she first gave her daughter away , her parents could have helped her raise that poor baby, second she didnt want to meet her grownup daughter, the husband had to insist. I like the husband and his daughter. I am not a big fan of his wife.

I agree. In this interview, I didn't see a maternal ache and longing over having been separated from her daughter all these years. It seems that if he didn't find her (his childhood sweetheart), mom would have never tried to look for their daughter.

Karen may have buried the trauma, affection, and all other emotions as part of the body's defense mechanism. Perhaps she'd be more maternal if she faced those feelings. We don't know how she's truly feeling.

@@lola-mo5sh She was a teenager in the 50s! And she described being reunited with her daughter as being an overwhelmingly emotional experience. I think you're being pretty unfair. Feeling like maybe she shouldn't interfere in her adult daughter's life is not the same as not wanting to meet her.

I can't imagine anyone having a dry eye as you see the love in this man's heart . . .

Unfortunately, their parents cared more about shallow, social perception than family. I'm glad today's generation is turning that horrible trend down.
