Child Safe Standard 3 - Families and communities are informed and involved

It takes a village to raise a child! Child safe organisations respect and consult children’s families and communities to promote the rights of children. Actively engaging families in organisational processes lowers the risk of abuse and better understand children’s needs.
In this video, you will hear from organisations that are early adopters of the Child Safe Standards. They were asked to demonstrate how they implement specific Standards. The Office of the Children’s Guardian does not endorse any organisation represented in this video. Examples of their practice are used to help improve knowledge on how all organisations can be safer for children.

Creating a child culture is important to overseeing their well-being. With family involvement and educators, having two-way conversations meeting their expectations and decisions.
